i have a '25 signia limited and absolutely love it. For a car with so many features it feels surprisingly simple. It is a pleasure to drive. It's like a camry wagon with more luxurious comforts than a subaru or vw and better gas mileage and reliability than a bmw or volvo. My last volvo's check engine light would go off every time my dealer needed to make a boat payment. I think Toyota got it right, if you want a third seat, opening sunroof, off the line bragging rights, a real off-road suv, HUD, or a prestigious emblem on the bumper, it’s a target-rich market for cars that you seek.
Thank you for this excellent review. Here's my own two cents: I've had my Crown Signia XLE for three weeks now. Great mileage, averaging 43 MPG so far in 800 miles of commuting to work. (I suspect the mileage will be slightly lower in the winter months.) The only minor disappointment is the engine noise on hard acceleration. Otherwise it's a dream to drive. At highway speeds, the ride is smooth and quiet. The exterior is amazing (mine is "Storm Cloud"). The basic black interior has hints of luxury, but not overdone, or gaudy. The infotainment screen, and other technology is appropriately modern, yet simple enough even for a non-tech guy like me! If this vehicle maintains the reliability of all the other Toyotas I've owned, it's definitely a keeper. So far, mine is the only Signia I've seen on the road. I expect to see others very soon.

@@djplonghead5403 Not good visibility for other drivers - especially these days when most cars on the road are taller SUV-type cars. Same goes for cars that have their brake lights in the lower bumper - I've heard of others with this concern as well. In traffic there is zero visibility of the brake light if a taller car in inbetween. Kinda the opposite of how safety-minded Volvo puts them up high in the rear pillars.
@@ArthurBenetton the headlights being that low should not affect if other drivers can see them- they are too bright. In fact, they might help people in sedans because the headlight is level with the sedan instead of above it- reducing the affects of being direct on with a headlight.
I am a big station wagon fan and this ride looks fantastic. I would own one but I already 2 vehicles(an 04 Nissay Frontier and an 18 Mazda CX5). Great review of the vehicle.
Excellent review; I was wondering how it drove (pretty well, seemingly). I hate moonroofs and prefer bigger tires-smaller wheels. The XLE seems to fit this description.
I’m going to buy an XLE. I thought it also looked like a Porsche from the back with the thin taillight. Not quite in Porsche pricing range yet , think this will do just perfectly for myself!
May sound odd, but I’d love to see/hear/read a direct back-to-back driving comparison between this (Limited) and the Buick Envision Avenir (almost the same price and the same near-lux consumer targeted). Performance, quietness, ride, “luxurious feeling inside,” advanced cruise control/lane keeping/centering function, form factor/turning radius/parking ease, and fuel economy (I know the Signia wins that last one, but maybe not by as much as people think and we drive very low mileage). My wife and I are retirees and I’m always evaluating what she could be satisfied with to replace her 2007 Lexus RX 350 if/when she’s ready, as a near luxury, preferably one size smaller (e.g., the NX size) alternative. She showed interest/approval of both when shown pictures. The Buick fits the preferred form factor, but I’m guessing the Crown feels more luxurious and would be more reliable. On the other hand, the Crown engine can apparently be loud, the Buick is reportedly very well “quiet tuned” with a normal transmission, and Buick has better reliability ratings than the other American brands…. The very few reviews I’ve seen have all been positive and Motormouth in particular loved it.) ❤️✌🏻✌🏻❤️

The headlights are fine... they are big LED's. there is no reason they should have trouble with illuminating. The cybertruck has some of the smallest headlights of any vehicle yet are some of the brightest- with modern-day, size doesn't really equal brightness.

The traditional spare tire or compact spare allows a tire to be exchanged for convenience instead of relying on a patch kit and something to inflate it with. And sometimes it can't be fixed due to location of the puncture.
It is noisy when cold, but smooths out when warm. Yes, you can still hear it, but not an issue if you are a regular commuter type and not flooring it a lot of the time 😊
Nice review. I feel the content is valuable, but needs some editing. I think your points could be cut down to a concise 10-15 mins. over the total 24 minutes in general.
I think manufacturers focuses their EV production on the higher end market and have tapped it out. I’m interested in more budget choices for commuting in everyday traffic. I don’t need a Rivian or Cyberdouche for that. I want something like an EV Fit or Corolla.
What did you run over at -6:14? Definitely did not glide over it in a "Lexus like" way with those low profile tires on the 21" rims. Looked pretty jarring.
its a very interesting and unique car, you have to see it in person to get it. I think this guy is about 5'7 or so because it isnt tall, it is about the same size as a highlander and 2 inches shorter in height, they were side by side when we went. It feels like an SUV because you have good road vision but the doors come up really high and you feel like you are in a sedan. My MIL used to have one of those cadillac crossover deals several years ago and it has that same weighty feel to it. Like I said, very interesting, you see that word a lot if you look at reviews. If the style is what you like, it is a freaking steal, I have always liked hatchbacks and wagon styling, function and form at an intersection with this one for us. YMMV
Toyota is going the wrong way with their prices. You can’t get a stripped down model anymore. That’s the problem. Too many options that eventually will break down. I guess if you lease your vehicles it doesn’t matter but there’s no way I would spend that much money on a car
Toyota takes dead aim at the Subaru Outback with this car. Like that this car is built to last 20-30 years, whereas the Outback is more of a disposable vehicle.
Actually test drove the signia and new rx350h both last week. Hate the signia. Crowded. Not nearly as nice to drive as a rav4 XSE made in Japan. The rx350h is made in Canada - but better than both. By A LOT.
The price of this station wagon is the same as the gross income of a junior lawyer. FOR 1 YEAR! That folks is INSANE. 🤪 Better to buy a Subaru Outback and save $15,000+.
To expensive. The fron grill looks like the lexus rx with that net looking type which i passed because it's terrible. The rims 21 inches are to big..toyota should have gone with 19in or 20in to give it a better comfy ride, bigger sidewall. 😢😮 I'll pass

Here’s my pithy review - except for Chevy Chase in the “Vacation” movies, no man is going to buy a station wagon. Saw one of these the other day and did a full body cringe. It’s an uglier, more expensive Venza.
Mid 30's male here planning to buy this. Could easily afford a lexus but wouldn't be a smart move since one of my work locations is in a fairly rough inner city. Want something luxurious but more under the radar and this fits the bill.
I bet you meet a lot of young guys with the cool cars you drive. This is the best value out there for 55k, nothing else is even close if you have the sack to not worry about some 34 year old poser trying to project status, broke with a beard and a new F150 with big wheels.

I test drove one. The car is really nice. But the engine is loud and buzzy.
Couple of concerns: I worry whether the beady looking headlights do a good job of illuminating the road ahead. Also, the lack of a spare tire.

Need a high-speed, interstate road trip vehicle. Need quiet, comfortable ride, that is easy to get into and out of. Considering this but prefer a V6.

The saddle tan looks great but depends on color of the car imo. Black looks sleek and stealthy but the saddle tan pops. Up to your preference.

I think it's to make room for the new Rav4, which will have it. That will make the Signia forgettable fast.
It also uses a Nickle metal Hydride battery instead of a Li ion....
