Interestingly, because Boos return as an item in MK8DX, Coins are actually useful at being cannon fodder to prevent an actually useful item from being taken.
Plus if u have a coin in the first slot, u are guaranteed to get a defense item in the second slot

The tanooki tail is useful in mario kart tour. In tour, when you use the tail you can fly with it and it spins, causing damage to other people and letting you take shortcuts
In online maybe, but in ranked where you need to score as high as possible, it’s shit
Well if you get a computer to get a coinbox and you have the tail you can get all of the coins and it helps you get points
It doesn't really make MK7's Tanooki Tail better though, if that's what this comment is suppose to imply.

In an attempt to make this as brief as possible:
The blue shell in Super Circuit can be outran easily.
The red shells in double dash literally do not work as they don't home-in on their target when close enough.
The coins item in MK8DX are actually useful as they often appear in the first slot, meaning you have protection from the Boo. This happens a lot because of how easy it is to get double item boxes. The coins item also increases your max speed by 2%, which makes a big difference in races.

Coins in MK8DX can also increase the chances of getting thins like bananas or even super horns which are really good for defence.

Honestly, I used to be mixed on this item but now I'm starting to like it because it's kinda cool how you gain a tiny bit of speed and you can bump someone so they can have.

Honestly, I disagree. While it does make it intense, getting it makes you think “Oh no, the thunder cloud!” rather than “Yes, the thunder cloud!” because it is an active hindrance and has too big of a downside to justify. Iryo tho.

Nico also hates the Blue Shell.
Blooper is very good against AI. No one ever mentions it.
The Blooper can still be useful against human players, as it can make it harder to see dropped items like bananas or abandoned shells, or even some track hazards. But they still work best against computer players since it actually causes them to slow down.
I’d love to see Nico rank every Mario Kart character, since those videos are super entertaining.

For Mario Kart Arcade GP, the worst is easily the mega mushroom since all it does is make your model bigger, meaning you’re more vulnerable.
Coins are not really useless in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. If you get one, you can't get the second one unless you use it. That helps to store your items in your second slot and prevent them from being taken by other players with a boo item and also increases your chances of getting defensive items in the first place
I actually never knew that you can blow into the microphone on the DS to make the Blooper's ink fall quicker. I've been playing the game for years, and I just now found out about that from this video.

I hope the coin never comes back as an item in all future Mario Kart games. They were useful in Tour, but pissed me off in 8 Deluxe every time.
And I hope not a single Wii item comes back. The Mega Mushroom, POW Block, and Thunder Cloud are the worst items ever, and thank Arceus their only appearance has been in Mario Kart Wii. I also don't see the Fake Item Box returning either, as we don't need another Banana, let alone a worse Banana.
I disagree with bob-ombs being the worst item in the game in Double Dash.
If you get one as 1st place, you can throw it against a wall in a steep angle to make it bounce back to the middle of the road and work as a proximity mine for 5 secs forcing the person in 2nd to either wait or explode.
A single banana is the worst item you can get imo as fake item boxes have a bigger hitbox than a banana and can block off shortcuts like at DK Mountain

Coin is actually usefull with 10 you get around a 75% speed buff and you can't get a coin if you already have one

Super Mario Kart: Coin
Mario Kart 64: Red Shell (because it fails a lot)
Mario Kart: Super Circuit: Banana
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!: Fireball (worst Special Item), Fake Item Box (worst overall item)
Mario Kart DS: Blooper
Mario Kart Wii: All of the new items (Mega Mushroom, POW Block, and Thunder Cloud)
Mario Kart 7: Super Leaf (worst new item), Blooper (worst overall item)
Mario Kart 8: Boomerang Flower (worst new item), Coin (worst overall item)
Mario Kart Tour: Bubble
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit: Coin
I got a idea : The best battle track in every Mario kart games
Honestly I think the Bullet Bill is the worst in MKT. At least the bubble still gives you points, so you can keep combo, and now you can get out of it early by repeatedly tapping the screen, and I don't think it takes up an item slot while it is being used anymore. The same can't be said about the bullet bill. If you get it, better hope the pack ahead is close enough together so that the bullet bill ends immediately, otherwise you will drop combo and reach the next set of item boxes with at least 1 item slot still occupied, so no possibility of frenzy, and 1 less item to increase your action count with.
True, is crazy how the MKT team managed to make the bullet bill that bad in this game...

I know the bubble is bad in Tour, but bullet bill is far worse, while bubble sometimes gives points, bullet bill does not in the duration of it.
I think the green shell wasn't in Home Circuit is probably because it wouldn't be able to tell what is or isn't a wall
I like the coin in MK8, makes using your banana peel a gamble in first place
You far in Mario kart VR the only thing you can do with banana is throw it behind you and hope for the best, but literally in the video you show it being used exactly like a shell multiple times
Also coins increase your maximum speed up until ten. You always want to have plenty of coins. When you are at Max speed getting a coin gives you a tiny speed boost temporarily. People tend to use their find as soon as they get them, but what you should do is hold onto and use the coin after you get hit, to get your speed back up(or before picking up a new item)
Bullet bill is actually worse then bubble. Bullet bill hardly hits anyone, takes you literally from last to 5 place, and breaks your combo entirely. Bullet bill is so bad.

In deluxe, i feel like the worst item is the feather, i dont even know what it does except make you jump which isnt that helpful. And the coin does give you a higher total speed, but that still doesn't make it the best item
It's a battle item. If you jump over an opponent you can steal coins or balloons depending on the mode. Pretty useful, but hard to do

I disagree that you put the Bob-omb as the worst item in Double Dash. The Fake Item Box is way dumber as you can tell which ones are fake.
Yeah, Double Dash officially ruined the Fake Item Box, and it's no wonder it has been absent from Mario Kart 7 onward.
Blooper is the worst item in every game since DS and I do include the TC in that too.

Fake item box is wayyyyyyy worse than the bobomb in DD and worse than the thundercloud
The coin is useful in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because having one means you can't get another coin. So if you're maxed out on coins, save the coin until you get another item. That way you're guaranteed a useful item.
Holding onto the coin also prevents a Boo from stealing a useful item.
Fun fact: If you hold a coin in Mk8 deluxe, you can never get another coin item

The green shell isn't in home circuit because, how would it work if in the normal games, it bounces off walls? Since the shell wouldn't be a real world object, there's no way for it to bounce off walls. I also didn't know Mario Kart Arcade GP VR existed. Now I have Two mario kart game that I never played: Double Dash and arcade GP VR. And I didn't know Arcade GP had so many items. The reason I haven't played Double Dash is because I don't javelin a gamecube and I literally can NEVER get dolphin emulator to work. But it took me years to realize that I could just buy Double Dash and put it in my Wii

personally the worst item in mario kart 64 is the fake item box because it dose not protect you.
It actually does protect you in Mario Kart 64. It doesn't protect you in Double Dash, DS, or Wii. I consider the Fake Item Box the worst item in Double Dash due to the fact that it has become easier to tell which one is the impostor, and the Red Shell as the worst item in 64 due to it failing constantly.

Blooper. In a game where giving even the worst of players a chance to win I hate the blooper. If I brought a friend over to play mario kart, and they weren't familiar with the tracks. They are going to be so lost when they're hit with a blooper. But you, who knows all of the tracks by heart, may not even notice the blooper is there because you are so focused and know the tracks so well! GET RID OF THIS ITEM I HATE IT!!
The Fine Mushroom is useless in Mario Kart Arcade GP.
I used to like the takooni tail item but now I really don't, it's so useless and annoying. And whoever says the blue shell is a horrible item is probably a little kid, it's not a bad item it's just been overused in MK7 & even 8. Coin is obviously stupid to have which I don't get why they put that in MK8 they literally could've just did what they did in MK7 where they're just on the track. Some of your picks I do agree with tho. But I disgree with the blooper I think it's a good item and yes it does effect players bc they slow them down and ofc they can't really see.
