Just wanted to say thanks for all your input into what you see as a Honda mechanic on a day to day basis. Whether buying new or used It really helps the consumer make an informed decision about what future problems there could be. Better yet, possible ways to avoid them. Thanks again and appreciate all your posts!! 👌
That’s the whole agenda of my channel to help and inform. People take the information personal sometimes I don’t know why but I’m going to keep informing. Thanks!
I have 2019 sedan sport trim w/ the 2.0 l and have valve cover gaskets leaks. Anyone else have this issue?
@@JD-zm9bx yea, that’s a thing
Good video thank you! I bought my 2020 Civic sport sedan new with the 2.0 NA K20C2 engine and a 6 speed manual transmission as I felt it would be the most reliable as a daily driver 👍🏻
You hit the nail on the head with that choice! Congrats 👍🏻
Thanks again my daughter lives out of state and drives a Honda civic and I pass all this information on to her Thank you. Artie 👍
🙌 hope you are doing well Artie.
Thank you bro for the info. I luv my Civic. Never had a problem
Glad to hear!
First, love the videos! Keep it going!
Thanks man! I appreciate it!
Great video, right to the point. Enjoyed it.
Thank you!
Good stuff, keep them coming this is helpful stuff.
Plan on it 🫡
I am happy with my 2020 Si but did upgrade the clutch.. Great video.
Awesome, thanks
My 2018 Civic EXT bought new: AC condenser failed at 117k miles (replaced under extended warranty/ for known issue). I noticed the wire covers torn but the exposed wires were undamaged. The most expensive maintenance I’ve had done was replacing the water pump, drive belt, and PCV valve at 120k miles for $1,030. Of course I maintain my Civic with oil/filter changes every 5k miles. I use only Shell Premium fuel for the high detergent to mitigate carbon deposits. I’ve never redlined and I rarely exceed 4k rpm. Other than the AC, I’ve had no issues after nearly five years and 141,900 miles averaging 36.5 mpg (combined).
I plan keeping my Civic for at least 300k miles. With my aggressive monthly maintenance, I hope to avoid any major repairs to the engine, turbo, or CVT. BTW…I bought my Civic without any of the Honda Sensing. I know that the electronics are often the first things to fail. One less area for problems if I plan on keeping the Civic for at least ten years.
Awesome stuff! Maintenance goes a loooooong way, keep it up and thanks for sharing.
Have you replaced your ignition coils ? If so at what mileage ?
Let the car live a little, rarely exceed 4k rpm .. grats gramps!
Excellent info, thanks for sharing! Subscribed 👍
Thank you!
Thank you for this!!

I have a 2017 EXT with a 6 speed manual. No problems at all. I not only run higher octane than the normal regular but I also run ethanol free too when I can. And to help the oil dilution issue, I shift at higher RPMs than I normally would and run a gear lower in cruise at whatever speed I am at. I even drive at highway speeds in 5th gear rather than 6th. It still gets superb MPG in 5th gear on interstates. And doing so keeps the combustion temps and cylinder head temps hotter overall. This helps to mitigate oil dilution as it burns more of the gas before it can seep down into the oil. Also in the winter I do not warm up my car at all. I start it and drive away after only 10 seconds. This allows the engine to warm up much faster since it's under load. To warm the engine at idle in 20F takes about 20 minutes, To warm up driving at 3000 RPM from the get go on the road, it warms it up in 4 or 5 minutes. Less time for the gas to leak down into the oil because the oil dilution is much worse when the engine is cold by far. You want a warm engine. Also, with todays thin oils, you really don't have to warm up an engine on a cold morning, the oil circulates right away. Only exception for me is when the temp is below 5 F. In that case I warm up for a minute.
Can you make a video on how to turn off drl when the engine is running at parked position
Thanks for the information, I'm planning to buy 2018 Civic X with 1.5T and manual gearbox. Worried a little regarding that oil dilution issue, but I guess it's kinda manageable
great information. thank you! Not the golden era Honda. I have a 95 Civic with 210K miles. Took it to dealer for oil change over the weekend and the techs loved the car.
Awesome, I’m sure they did 😅
Coming up on 500k on my 91 accord 😅
@@mitchelllinley9738 awesome, any major issues with it?
Just had to replace the fuel tank. Other than that its just been routine stuff. Nothing major@Hondamobilemechanic

Great video, ever seen the dash go crazy with warnings after alternator replacement? Checked everything and won't go away.
No, I would check your codes and fuses
GREAT, THANK YOU!
Thanks you
Hey thank you for making this video. We’re thinking about buying out our 21 lease. I always insist on using premium fuel in the car and you’ve confirmed it’s probably worth the little extra expense to do so.
Yes for sure. It’s a small price to pay I’m increments vs having to deal with costly issues down the road.
is it s 1.5 turbo?
@@backtoshallabal6662 yes.
Hy! Buy oilcatch can from mishimoto to solve that problem!
any car with a turbo should have premium fuel used
Another issue I’ve been seeing is a lot of evap leaks. Mostly on the 16s and 17s. For us in the North they build up rust on the fuel pump lock ring and it will eventually cause a pressure crack in the plastic fuel pump housing. I’ve done about 15 of them so far and it’s about a $600 fix
Your in Canada if I recall correctly, we haven’t seen any here at our dealer just yet but I’m sure they are coming. We rust up at a slower rate 🤣
@@BCautosolutions you are correct. I’ll send you a picture on Instagram of what we’re seeing
@@jasonlecreux1175 yes please do 💪🏼
@adamb84 for the same issue we were discussing, the Corollas have the same problem. Hyundais, Kias, fords, they all do. This has nothing to do with the manufacturer, it’s about engineer design being overlooked. All companies have their flaws, and if you say other wise then your oblivious to the facts or you don’t know any better.
I have had a few civic sin for a crack as well
Bought a 2016 LX right when it came out. The issues are mostly cosmetic thankfully including floor mats so damn cheap they developed holes after 2 yrs (only have 40k now), the wheels are rusting, never had this on previously cars. The rubber seal/strip around the front of hood is loose in a few places (just cheaply made?) and there’s an annoying rattle from the glovebox area - emptied it out it’s not stuff giggling around :( Anyhow great vid thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I bought my 1.5T 2020 Sport Hatchback brand new in the summer of 20'. It has 44k miles now and LOTS LOTS LOTS of idle hours as I commute 2 hours each way to University so I spend time in my car for things like eating or naps on long days. Always been putting 87 in the tank. I see no problems with anything except that my coolant seems to be low. Hoping its not a head. Otherwise car has been doing great. I frequently drive 12 hours a day on trips up north or south with zero problems, car even took 4 Chicago speed bumps going 30mph without even a crack in the windshield and I've hit tons and tons of huge potholes without damaging anything except my sanity. Notably I also replace my CVT fluid every 30k since I do 90% heavy Chicago grid traffic driving
Awesome, thanks for sharing and best of luck moving forward.
I have a 2018 hatchback sport and my AC went out one summer. Did some research and thought it might have been a recall issue like you mentioned. Turned out to be the evaporator and that wasn’t covered under the recall. Had to pay $2000 out of pocket for that one 😢 other than that, I always pump premium for the reason that I don’t want anything else going bad lol
Yikes sorry to hear that! Hopefully that’s all you will need to replace out of normal maintenance. Definitely use premium and keep and eye on that coolant level. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for subsidizing premium for people that actually need it, but it is a waste. High quality gas is fine 89
My ac hasn't worked since first year. It's a 2017. I called and they replaced condenser and o rings and now coolant free. Wonder if it'll die again, coverage until 2027 on the ac.
My friend 2019 civic had same issue plus his cvt was replaced on 4th year
My parents are looking at getting one right now, upgrading from a same generation Honda City. Unfortunately our market didnt get the 2.0 and instead has the 1.5t for the upper trims and the 1.8 for the lowest trim. I just hope if we do get it none of these problems happen
Best of luck!
This video is so helpful! had that same AC problem, and luckily it was fixed under that warranty. But now I have a new problem. Sometimes when I'm in reverse my car will just not move at all. Only happens sometimes but I'm not sure what's causing this. I have a 2018 Honda civic .
Glad to hear it worked out for you. When the issue with reverse happens is the car cold?
@@BCautosolutions yeah it pretty much has only happened right after I start my car usually to back out of parking spots/drive way happens rarely but it's scary when I'm pressing the pedal and the car isn't moving
Thank you so much for a very informative video. I have a question, my daughter has a 2016 honda civic and i use to hear the turbo but not anymore. Her gas mileage has gone down a little. Is there a fuse on the turbo or maybe a air leak? Thanks in advance for your help.
2020 civic sport 2.0 NA 6 speed manual with 103K. runs like a clock. I was was persistent about not getting one without a turbo or a CVT trans, so glad i opted for the stick and the 2.0 ! FYI: put a new battery in it last week. went out to start the car in the morning and got message (parking brake issue) would not start. turns out if the battery dies it will not have enough juice to release the parking brake, no issues with the brake, replace battery.
Thanks for sharing and smart choice 🫡
Had the A/C compressor shaft seal fail before 36k and sunroof shattering without cause on at '21 civic. Take a look at complaints with sun/moon roofs spontaneously shattering as well as steering wheel "sticking" or stiff during certain conditions. Honda has been replacing steering racks without addressing the real cause..
Great video
Thank you
Hope this helps anyone but I have a 2017 civic hatchback 1.5l and I’ve had these problems
Broken gas tank actuator, broken trunk struts, AC evaporator went out, transmission axel seal & leaking fluid. I’ve done all my maintenance & change my oil every 5k miles & filter every 10k.
Thanks for your input 💯
Had a 2018 Hatch Sport- bad oil dilution, wouldn’t get heat in cold weather and rodents damaged exactly where you said. That sucker got returned on a lease at the end.
Sorry to hear! What did you replace it with?
I'm on my 3rd or 4th fuel door actuator and really the only other issue I've had is the lower window door trim on the driver side cracking and falling apart while the passenger side looks new. I have the 2016 2.0l engine.
Pretty good car overall. I also use premium fuel, but i also race it and redline it alot. Knock on wood, its been really good to me and im at about 130k miles
Thanks for sharing
My sisters 2016 civic touring had the AC compressor fail at ~45k miles. Luckily she spent $2k on a 7 year warranty because the repair from Honda was almost $2500. The screen would freeze sometimes and needed a hard reboot. Third brake light always rattled with bass and the TMPS light was so sensitive.
Yea all some common stuff, luckily Honda care covered it
@@BCautosolutions😂
I think Honda increased the coverage on AC compressors for all 10th gen Civics to 10 years
@@EJleon96 maybe recently. This was back in spring 2022. Car is totaled now. Honda needs to own up to their recent mistakes. Their quality is going down the drain.
@@robbym3542 no that TSB was active before 2022 for sure. I def feel like Honda should have recalled the whole AC system tho because condensers and evaporators have gone down commonly. I’ve just gotten used to charging the AC myself once a year. Meanwhile I’m currently hunting for an oil leak at 100k miles 😞
Honda tech here up in Northern Ont Canada,,, Rear rotors deterioration BAD every year, Trunk release switches in the door, sticking down. Our ratio of Head gaskets at our dealer is 1 Civic since 2016, 20 CRV's in the past two years and maybe 2 Accords in the last couple years. But we do sell a ton of CRV's . And the standard Condenser/compressor seals leaking. Pretty solid car's and Zero 2.0L issues
Appreciate the feedback bro, hope you’re staying busy!
Tire season is kicking in, next five weeks are going to be to busy :)@@BCautosolutions

Very interesting and informative, thank you for the video. Do you happen to have a video about the oil dilution issue? Recently purchased a 17 Si and wondering how concerned I should be. 🤔
Not yet!
Im actually looking to buy this generation civic
There is an open investigation on the Civic’s steering sticking esp at highway speeds. Any ideas as to what the cause may be? Would this issue also impact the HRV since it’s a shared platform?
Yea I’m aware, probably going to end up being taco or motor for the rack replacement. Hrv uses a different rack
I had sooooooooooo many freaking issues with my tenth gen, gas lid made a horrible quacking noise, it had it’s cylinder head replaced at 2,300 miles, went through two batteries, and two check engine lights, dumped it at 40k miles. No regrets getting rid of it. Forgot I also had tpms issues and I had the “reliable” 2 liter
Sorry to hear, sounds like you had a bad one, they are typically relative with the 2.0
I have a 2016 Honda civic lx and it wont start unless I press on the gas petal at the same time, runs fine once on though, and battery is only 1 year old any ideas on what it could be by chance. Thanks so much
i bought my hatchback used in 2020 and noticed it was blowing warm air took it back got the condersor fixed didn't pay anything since it was under warranty heard these were pricey to fix but so far no other issues with the car at 90k
Nice, appreciate the feedback. Best of luck with it
I have a 2016 honda civic coupe ex 1.5T and ALL of these issues are prominent! Really wish I would have seen this video 2 years ago before I got the car and threw so much money down the drain. Payments and repairs. Smh
Sorry to hear. Hopefully the car starts rewarding you better 👍🏻
AC condenser went at 59,000k. Honda has made a recall on vehicles and have a 10 year warranty that dealerships don’t tell you about. Search it up there is a document. Apparently the AC condenser is a universal problem amongst all civics
It’s not a recall, it’s a device bulletin. But yes 10 year warranty extension that we most definitely notify and do about 5 a day. Seems like you need a new dealer. Thanks for sharing
Exactly! Thanks for sharing 👍🏻 @abigmonkeyforme
What about the evaporator? Is that also covered under warranty? Mine started leaking gas. Tech said it's common.
I have a 2016 Honda Civic 1.5T at 98,000 miles. Runs like 2016. No problems or what’s so ever. I replace parts before it gives me issue. I do my own oil change every 4,000 with Amsoil and Replace spark plug every on 30,000. When I have extra spare money, I replace the sensors even it doesn’t need to. Runs like it just came out the dealer. I’ll be honest it is pretty easy fixing it.
The only weird thing that happened was my Infotainment touchscreen on my 2020 sport basically did a blue screen of death and didn’t work for about 5 minutes. Other than that, it’s a great car. 2.0 runs well!
So far I am a little north of 25k. I checked the engine coolant reservoir and it was low. Based on what you have said as symptoms to valve cover failures I am now a bit concerned. I did top it off and will monitor it. I was just assuming that it has been 3 years since i bought the car but now I will just watch out
Best of luck!
Appreciate the videos man. Any ideas on the reliability of S2000s? Like 04-05 in particular
04-05 s2000s we’re solid. Stay on top of fluid maintenance. Remove delay valve from clutch slave cylinder (causes clutch slippage at full throttle shifts) some cases of rear axle cup wear that can be corrected with spacers or new inner joints. Also have your valve lash checked every 30-45k.
@@BCautosolutions thanks bro!
100% of the time since I got my car brand new...Ive been running 93 in her instead of 87.... So hopefully these issues will be rare for me that has to do with the fuel consumption issues.
Awesome
I just bought a used 2019 honda civic and I LOVE IT. I just hate the fact that the parking brake is electronic and the android auto isnt wireless... had to buy an adapter
Seems like minimal stuff but congrats 👍🏻
Any issues since you bought it ? I’m currently about the buy one 2019 Honda civic LX 2.0
@@antcortes5681 Sometimes if you do something like open your door for a drive through, the car likes to turn the parking break on. No transmission dipstick sucks. The Android Auto was a pain in the ass to get set up, but it's been perfect ever since. Changed out brake pads fairly easily, the BFE was a sinch.
Overall, minor gripes but for sometimes less than $20 for a fillup, it more than makes up.
I started my civic touring 2018 in the morning and all the lights on dash came on. I took it to the honda dealer today and they found a misfire. Now they want me to replace all 4 fuel injectors and it's pretty expensive. I hate having to do that when my car is fairly new with only 66k km on it. I checked on reddit and civicx forums and it's a widespread issue and a lot of people are dealing with this. Im surprised it's not covered under a recall or extended warranty
Yep, injectors and head gaskets are far too common.
Ok got it stay away from the turbo 1.5.
I would not say that. They have built thousands of 1.5 T and compared to the failures it’s still a low percentage of failures. I have seen a ton of 1.5t well over 250,000km and they have had to issues. Imop it depends on how it’s treated in some ways but that’s just from my experience. It’s like I would never buy something with a K24 as I am tired of putting pistons and timing chains in them, but if you want to tune and mess around the 1.5t was never designed for it or will take the abuse were the K24 will all day long.
I have 100k miles on my 1.5T not a lot but it has had no issues
I've seen plenty of 200k plus ones if you treat it right and drive it for what it is.. an economy car they do fine
@@vulcanvulcan2963 when do you change the oil ? Have you had the engine cleaned for carbon?
@@Tracy-wr7mj I change it whenever the light comes on. I had the transmission flushed at 75k. What’s that cleaning for? Is it recommended?
2017 Elantra, bought new. 124.000 miles. 0 repairs 0 issues. Loaded with all the tech. Ac never touched, still blows nice and cold. Everything on the car works like new. Engine runs smooth and quiet. Uses no oil. Only things on the car that have been replaced are tires, and 1 battery. Excellent vehicle. Even the brake pads are original, and still don't need replacement!
Congrats sounds like a highway vehicle.
@BCautosolutions I'd say about 70 % highway. 😊
@@johnfranklin5277 sounds about right. Either way, that’s pretty amazing 👍🏻
@hondamobilemechanic appreciate your videos here in land downunder. I am actually on a look for a new Honda civic. What would you recommend? I’m looking at 2016 models and onwards
Anything with the 2.0 na will reward you wil excellent reliability.
Skip the 2016 models. I hate mine.
2018 Civic LX 2.0l 6spd manual cold start issue. Starting the car first thing in the morning any temperature, turn the key, starter engages, turns over the engine, engine catches, the rpm initially drops to almost a stall then increases to high idle instead of going to a high idle like normal. Every start after that it functions as normal, only on a cold start does it almost stall. Seems to be getting progressively worst and I'm worried one day it won't start.
Possibly a dirty throttle body comes to mind. Wouldn’t be able to say for sure without some data.
Do you ever get complaints about the dash lights not comeing on and a circular motion thing loading on the front screen but you can see any lights accept for the speedometer
No
2016 Civix LX Coupe (2.0l) Code P0456. Determined that the capless fuel fill was leaking.
Sounds about right
I've had my ac condenser replaced 2 times now. 2018 civic sport.
Yep, I believe you
Whaaat???!!! It sounds like condenser is made of aluminum foil paper???
Got my 2018 civic with 20k miles on it, now its at 30k miles, no problems so far. 1.5T CVT
Glad to hear 👍🏻
Have you ever repaired the 1.5T makings some weird noise at ignition?
What could be causing that?
No, could be a worn out switch tho assuming it’s a key style
Point me in the direction where the coolant sensor is by the engine 🥲 long story short I exhausted all possibilities of the gauge on the dashboard staying low when it’s on but not driving. Once I start driving it’ll go up at the normal level and match the heat. I have zero leaks, no engine light on, coolant is in, A/C works, heat works, the air pressure is fine. The only issue is the sensor. So I’m kind of stuck on where it exactly is on my 2018 civic lx.
So I’ve noticed my coolant drains faster than normal. It doesn’t overheat but when I check the tank, there’s almost nothing in there. Been to the mech’s and they said it wasn’t an issue but I don’t feel right about it. By way of DIY, what do you suggest I do and what is the head “start” or bolt you talk about and how can I check it please?
Various tests you can do but if it’s already consuming coolant, I would do new gasket with head studs
2022-23 issues? Looking at a sport touring. I drive 75% highway and always use top teir gasoline from costco, shell, exxon,bp ect. Looking for a nice 30k hatchback with good mpg and good features and the civic seems to hit those needs. I just need a car that can handle 20k miles a year for at least 10 years
There were some early on but nothing has been repetitive enough to have me concerned. I would buy with confidence although as always I recommend Honda care which will have you covered for a decent amount of ownership. Good luck
I put a boomba bov and have a muffler delete and every now and then my car will not build any boost at all and it sounds like an air leak in the bov. However when I run the car again 1-2 hours later it is back to normal. I had a professional mechanic install the bov so I don’t think that is the problem but the bov itself could be.
Could be the valve itself
My son just had oil changed, drove 48 miles then motor lost power, all lights on dash on, checked engine oil completely not marking on stick. Engine now smokes white smoke bad, oil tech stated he ran 3-cleaners thur to clean oil, then filled. Any idea what happened. Did he wash the rings out or damage turbo? Thks. 2019 Honda civic 1.5T. 60000 miles on it.
Sounds like the oil change tech poked the oil filter to get the wrapping off and a piece of the plastic fell in the filter making itself into the engine and clogging the feed hole for intake cam lubricant. Take it back asap!
Hi, I have a 2020 Honda civic hatchback sport. Luckily I haven’t had any of these issues, BUT my front end makes a lot of noise. It almost sounds like a busted shock or a bad ball joint. I’ve had the car checked multiple times (under warranty) and by other shops thinking that my local dealership wasn’t wanting to cover repairs. No one can find this noise but it’s getting louder and louder. Still drives good, seems a little loose but nothing major. Coming from the left front. Do you have any experience with this?
Is the noise from the right front?
I have a 2020 Honda civic LX. I bought the car used with 34k on Odo. And ever since I bought like 9 months back. It started the clunking noise coming from the front left axle, and the right suspension made a thud noise. Took it to Honda they first look at this but couldn't diagnose anything. Well after 3 months with alot of suspension parts changed and left axle changed it is still making the same noise. Can you please help. The clunking noise is heard when you lift up from gas and depress it. And the thud noise is coming from them the suspension drops in dips in the road.
Could be anything from links to loose/under torqued suspension parts, to bad engine mounts. Tough to say from here
Am considering 2023 Civic with 2.0 NA or EX with 1.5T. I like the 1.5T power. The turbo boost on the EX is 16.5 psi vs 20.2 on the 1.5T Accord. Both run 87 octane. Do you think that makes Civic less likely to blow head gaskets than Accord? (Lighter vehicle, less stress on engine too?)
Precisely. In fact I’ve done more accord then civics and crvs. That’s my exact dissection as to the major contributor for that. Nice job 👍🏻
@Hondamobilemechanic Thanks very much. If I do get the 1.5 I'm still going to do 3k mile oil changes and run 91+ Octane.
@@stevenr1354 👏
Do you notice if the head gaskets fail more on a particular transmission?
No, most are cvt tho by default because there more of them
Have you seen many complaints about steering issues with the 2022 Honda Civic? Seems to be lots of us with issues and Honda not taking it seriously…
Personally I haven’t seen any at our dealer and we average 80-150 cars a day. Not saying there isn’t an issue, just haven’t seen it personally although we have done a few steering rack motors but for lights, not hard steering or anything of that nature.

12-15 civic is affordable and reliable
I live in Ontario, Canada and these common problems don’t occur. I’ve heard very few cases about the AC, but none about the 1.5L Turbo. So I’m wondering if it comes down to assembly location
Could be location, it’s all over the USA.

Bought a 2017 Si brand new. Last summer at 34k the condenser went. Shortly after a rear window motor failed. Then a month ago with 43k every dash light came on. Took to dealer and they said it was a failed head gasket between cylinders 1 and 2. Quoted the job at $7,663. I didnt beat on the car and used nothing but 93 octane. Honda reliability is no more.
With 43k it should still have been covered, there’s no way I’d be paying that. I’d go to a different dealer.

Currently having a problem with my acceleration. When I turn my car on the gadge starts off the 4th line between the 1 and 2. As time passes it’ll go back down to the 5th or 7th line and as I push on the gas it has a 0.5 to 1 sec to accelerate. Not sure what the problem is would be awesome to hear back on what it can me.
Throttle lag from the sound of it. I had the same issue. Get CRC throttle body cleaner and clean it. World of a difference for me! Acceleration and reverse were back to proper responsiveness. I've even had issues of the car dying on my three times at a red light also.
My 2017 Honda civic stalls at takeoff. Like at a stop sign or stop light, it’ll hesitate. But when accelerating or highway driving there’s no rpm drop or trouble shifting. Been told it could be transmission or fuel injector. Pls help
Seems more like a torn intake tube especially
If it’s a 2.0 na
Thanks for this video. I've had very very minor problems with my '21 Civic Sedan Sport 2.0 NA. One of them being - the brake PEDAL squeaks about 75% of the time when released, whether the car is on or not... I've taken it to the dealer twice regarding and they lubed but only settles for about a day... any advice? also 2 of my reverse lights have gone out already which is more so annoying than anything.. could be bad bulbs but not a big deal. Just wish I could get the damn brake pedal to stop squeaking when I let go of it haha.
Sounds like it could be something with the brake booster. Not a big deal, but if it’s annoying you, it should be addressed. The reverse bulbs going out is a weird coincidence. Thanks for watching. Good luck
@@BCautosolutions actually one more question about braking... I noticed that when I'm braking and the power does a big shift right as I'm about to stop the headlights will dim for like half a sec and then go back to normal, like a pulse. I always notice it now. Same goes for when I'm parked and turning the wheel the headlights will dim. Is this normal? Thanks!
@@waltcfilms7195 yes it can dim for a second while the system picks up the extra load.
@@BCautosolutions Thanks! So nothing to be concerned about?
@@waltcfilms7195 exactly
My wife's 2016 civic is hesitating or bucking during acceleration. I changed out the Mass Flow Controller and air filter already with no difference. Any ideas what could be causing this problem? Thx
Torn intake tube or air leak somewhere.
I’m dealing with all the warming/sensors lights on including the p0341 they all come on and go away after . I can delete it with a scanner but they’ll come back and go away ayer and then come back again !!! Would it be a timing chain ? Drivin me nuts .. 2017 civic tourin 1.5T
Thanks in advance
Sounds like your dealing with a stretched chain possibly.
No serious problems on my 2016 EX-T (1.5 T Engine) with 85k miles on it except for the passenger window. The window goes up all the way and then down half way when you try to close it using auto window. I do want to qualify the comment by saying that I do not drive the vehicle all that hard and in fact I drove almost 60k on the original tires and had to replace them not because of tread wear but age. I also want to note that I used 87 octane fuel (regular and not premium) exclusively.

Hi, what do you think about Civic 2015 1.6 i-dtec? Any knows isues with this model? Thank!
Don’t know much about it to have a valid assessment
my 2017 civic si makes a rattling noise when revving at 2.5K RPMS Do you know why?
Could be anything but often see the Wastegate actuator rattle which is normal, if that’s what is your actual case.
Hey i have 2017 honda civic lx at 45k miles. I wanted your advice on what to do about the a/c condenser if i dont have warranty anymore? Any affordable solutions? Also, i recently changed my tires and soon after i noticed my car stopped beeping at me when i locked the doors. I have a base model with minimal settings on the digital center display and cannot find any settings that would control that.
They extended warranty on condenser to 10 years, so you should be covered.
i have a HONDA CIVIC 2016 and just had the radiator motor fan went out, this car has only one fan in front so it causes two issues no AC and engine heat up
That’s not too coming but I have seen a few
Great content. Im in canada and bought new a hatch 19 sp touring 6sp. I feel these made in the uk r cheaply made as compared to the alliston plant.
Had my ac swapped. Rubber liners around the door crap. But fun to drive. Currently at 50k kms. Will start w premium gas. Always avoid short drives. Just doesnt pull as much as before. Do all services. Added a strut bar and in the stock air filter box, a kn filter. Hope the gas switch, from reg will make a difference. Any other suggestions? Tires are topped up too
Nope, you just about doing everything you can. Thanks for sharing
Have 2020 civic EX, 65000km, just having issue when i brake to slow down to stop completely at the light. Headlights get lighter and back like dimming, plus feels like someone push forward before stopping completely like slipping. Had a trans fluid changes at 50k and regular maintenance all done not sure why
My trunk button sticks, driver side door. Also my power window switch for my driver side window is glitchy kinda stutters once or twice before going all the way down

Squirrel ate through the speed sensor cable on my Civic (2.0L), and it cost $600 to replace the wiring harness. Found out they like to hide in cars during the summer, even if the cars are daily drivers parked at work. Best defense against this? Keep your engine bay clean and spray peppermint essential oil in the engine bay and wheel wells. Not only does it smell great, the critters hate it.
💯
My 2020 accord got hit and headlight cracked , now all my blinkers will not work , any ideas why?
Shorted and/or blew a fuse
I have a question about a 2019 civc lx with the 2 litre and cvt. Is there 2 filters for the cvt or just one and if there is one in the pan why is it hard to find
Just one, behind the trans cooler
@@BCautosolutions thanks wasn't sure if the had one in the pan or not. Now it on to who makes the better filter
i own a 2016 civic lx 2.0 and my head gasket blew. i have 200k miles on it, is it even worth fixing?
That’s surprising and yes it is
i never use AC, during winter i drive with my jacket on, during summer i open my windows, i live in a small town i guess i’m still buying one
🙌
You recommend 91 octane fuel in my 1.5 turbo civic?
Yes
My white light for the gas doesn’t go up even with the full tank any idea how to fix it ?
Possible sending unit or fuel level sensor stuck if you’ve had the recall done
The LX 2.0 Six speed is about as close as you'll get to an old school civic with these things. The route to go if you want absolute reliability
💯
I have a 2020 LX 2.0 6MT Civic, bought it new, and it's hands down, the best car I've ever owned...it's reliable, fun to drive, and looks sexy as hell for a base model...
Are you having fuel issues with yours i got a 2018 civic lx 2.0 6 mt fuel tank gets 301 miles to a full tank
@@o3mxttz530 My 2020 gets between 28 and 30 mpg...

So I got a Honda civic 2019 sport at first my car jus said electric parking damage and the car didn’t start so I got cables n connected it to the battery n the car did start n the electric parking code went away but now I have to use the cables everytime to start the car so I’m thinkin it’s the battery and it’s been like that two days but now it perfectly starts any ideas on what it could be?
I would have the battery tested, if it passes, have it looked at by a professional
nah ill stick with my 2013 2grfe venza. 110k miles, oil changed every 3.5-4k. Burns no oil at all. The oil looks like new after 4k miles. The 2gr from 2013 was improved and is pretty much bulletproof lol. i feel bad for newer hondas having AC issue, mine blows ice cold on a 100 degree day at idle.
Cool
2016 2.0 ex here, one of the worst cars I’ve ever owned, wish I could get rid of it but sadly I still owe on it, every light on the dash is currently on, the interior quality is trash, I meticulously change the oil and have changed the transmission fluid intervals, replaced front cv axles and wheels because they were bent and causing a wobble and a acceleration shimmy, have had 2 new belt tensioners installed and have had a grinding rattle noise on acceleration that the dealer finally found to be a stretched timing chain, never ever having a newer Honda again. JUNK.
Sorry to hear, thanks for sharing.
Would any of these cause a burning electric smell (2020 hatchback ex 1.5)? I know little to nothing about cars and idk if I just need to look at the fuses or what. Living out of my car right now so it makes taking it in anywhere pretty near impossible. Something online said it could be the break pads? Idk why they would make an electric smell though. No lights on the dash telling me anything. Fr any help you could give would be greatly appreciated!
Tough to say. So you have any liquid spills around the shifter area?
@@BCautosolutions well I checked the things I could, like the coolant. Coolant was fine and I only put 93 in. Doesn't appear to have any other problems yet, starts fine from what I can tell (has around 65,000 so I was worried). Another yt person said it could be a battery wire or the alternator going out. The smell is definitely coming from the drivers side around the fuse box or maybe the battery, not the alternator. Battery looks fine though (from what little I could see) and there was no melted plastic or anything around any wires. But no, no spills, or at least not that I know of or remember but it's used and my ex drove it a ton. I try to keep it as clean as I can in general. It's just weird it has the smell but I have no dash lights at all, no check engine or anything. And absolutely no smell inside the car, it's only when I've parked and I usually notice when I'm transferring my sleeping stuff from the car to my storage unit.
Could spilling something there have shorted something in the fuse box? I suppose I'll have to check the fuses individually but just from opening the box (the one under the hood not the interior one) I didn't see anything obviously off.
The only thing I could think of is the driver's side marker light has been loose for some time (still works okay, the clip just broke that keeps it secured) or the fog light lens on one of the sides broke somehow. So maybe that's shorted something out? I'll need to look tomorrow and see if it still turns on cause it rarely gets foggy here and I haven't used them in probably half a year at least.
@@niccilefevre is it possible you may have some rodent activity going on? Typically doesn’t cause an electrical smell just tossing some ideas out there. Or possibly ran over a plastic bag and melted to exhaust?
