The style and direction of a the series definitely takes a huge dive between Vesperia and Berseria. Not saying Xillia story is bad but the art style and gameplay goes from being so polished and clean like a basket of fruit to a groggy and unsightly basket of mouldy potatoes. Symphonia will remain my favourite for the story, Vesperia for the gameplay and Tales of Arise is just a massive breath of fresh air and hopefully the dip in quality doesn’t happen again…
I´d say Berseria, Zestiria, Vesperia and Symphonia are good enough to check out if you liked Arise. And just maybe Xillia and Abyss. The other ones are probably too dated in terms of mechanics (but if you are into old games maybe you'll like them, it´s a hit or miss)
I remember on tales of the world series there's a hack on the combat where you can cancel any skill animations. i hope there's a mod for that on arise also. It would make a lot of cool and complex combos. The combos on arise is good but it could be better with those hacks.
Tales of zestiria! aka the first ever tales game I have ever play on my ps4 that I only got the bad ending but I end up returning back to this game on steam And got to get the true ending for this game! :D
I wished they wouldnt go full 3D route. Imo the charm of tales game is in the graphics(aside characters and stories). Hope they would do “modern pixels” style or whatever-bit pixel style.
And it is. Berseria sold 2 milion copies and had good critic and public reviews. So it raised the franchise reputation and expectations from public and developers. Berseria success made Arise able to be a triple A quality game.
TOTw: Radiant Mythology series really *needs* to come back and on the later updated remasters, or better yet needs a brand new remake to handle the bigger consoles like PS5 & PC, seriously! I miss the ones where YOU become the hero/heroine of the story and interact with the others (though the endings sucked...) For me, Abyss was first hands-on, then Radiant Mythology 1 (sadly since only the west...), then I started going after as many others as I could find and get!

My bro has been a gamer since the late 90s- even when he was single digits amd certainly agrees as a peo the vintage games, there are many reasons why they are CLASSIC and memorable!❤ I hate how obsessively practical the conceptual designs look! Anime otaku and JRPG love to Nihon when games were first being born. Being brought up at the right time makes a who different perspective vs. Todays spoiled generation on these excessive CGI and masses produced franchise games in these decades. As an artist I'm just not so intrested and find myself now easily jaded as to JRPGS today. Too much superficial projection and we.know how ridiculously vein human civilization is yet the plot and characters fall on death ears. Seeing too.much of the same thing and lack of diversity of course conveys a lot and there's never anything different amd exciting to look forward too. I hope it changes. And I'm only like 5 or 10 percent superficial.

Yeah. I have played pretty much all outside of the crossover titles. Some of those old-school games take a bit to properly enjoy. I remember playing Destiny on the (PS1) and Destiny 1 remake (PS2) at the same time so I had a general idea of the story since D1R was only in Japanese. The gameplay of the original made me want to rush through it meanwhile every fight in the remake was so fun that I literally unknowingly grinded for 14 hours... I looked out the window and literally said "Wait. How long have I been doing this? Last I looked out the window the sun was up... WHY DOES THE CLOCK SAY 2AM?!" I really wish they would re-release the OG titles with a fresh coat of paint and updated gameplay. Something similar to arise but with the multiplayer reinstated. Heck I would be happy if they went back to a Vesperia, Graces or Xillia game design just to bring back the older titles.
Sadly my childhood game is not tales games or final fantasy. in fact my childhood have no series games. but in 2017 and onward, I did played all of a certain game series called Ys but PC edition only. most of trails games too except sky trilogy. as for tales game, I only played all of the game that available on PC via steam except symphonia.
thales of symphonia stay the best game the big problem is that game is insane about spaming then after not many hour of playing that make the game boring but that sure when u play the first time is not like this the only thing is nice with the game is when we learn a new skill sad in the OG game he have only loyd colette and genus who have is special att and in the ps3 all have is special att really not fair in ps3 prescea have like the most OP special since she can one shoot the last skeleton with 99000 hp if is not more and to u have a trick to use 2x in a row genus special indignation jugement when he is in limit just safe is jugement and use it again then he can use it 2x but that sure everyone know that and thales of symphonia i think it is the only game who have is own anime with that
Started with graces eventually played them all except a few side ones there are sone awful games here and some absolutely amazing ones like Xillia 1 and Arise
@gabrieldantasfiuza7447 Eu achei ele legalzinho, mas achei ele linear demais, com pouquíssima exploração. E não gostei muito das lutas contra chefes, eles possuem HP demais e deixam as lutas chatas e enroladas. Não é um jogo ruim, mas é, pra mim, um dos piores da série Tales Of.
@@marcsm2008 os chefes eu concordo, a exploração pro tipo de mapa (em seções) eu até gostei, principalmente das sidequest que são boas, histórias e personagens muitos bons também e combate que se vc for dando pausas fica muito bom, é tipo meu 3° tales of mas foi o único que me deu vontade de conhecer o resto, só não sei pra qual ir agora kkkk

Gostei até do Zestiria, que muita gente não gosta. Quanto ao Arise, eu dou pra ele uma nota 7. Gosto, mas não tanto assim. Aqueles mapas por seções não combinaram com Tales Of, o jogo me lembrou o Final Fantasy 10. Mas a história eu gostei. E amei os personagens e a música. Sim, você já jogou o Berseria? Ele é meio linear também, mas a história é ótima e o combate é bem legal.

BUT DESTINY 1 and Eternia still cost MORE then that of a PS5 that the 2 games NEED a PS4 PS5 Switch port/remaster Destiny 2 PS2 Rebirth still NEVER left Japan so those still need a PS4 PS5 Switch port IN ENGLISH. Phantasia's Only English dub sadly was the GBA version which was pure CRAP.
Arise is only an upgrade in terms of its graphics. The Story, characters, lore, and world building don't come close to what Symphonia, Abyss, Vesperia and Berseria accomplished. Combat makes a good first impression but is imbalanced and becomes a chore to play halfway through the game. It is a regression for the series, hopefully they will learn that graphics alone do not elevate a mediocre Tales game.
Am I the only one here thought that that Tales of Arise took Tales of Zesteria's battle transition. Felt like a downgrade going back with an arena since the Ps4 and Ps5 can handle it real time. :l

Just finished Arise earlier this week. Now I'm going back through all of the PS3 Tales games again. Ahh so good lol.
I remembered my first tales series was Tales of Abyss.

absolutely agreed. Graces f was the last i finished. Vesperia was the last one I liked.

I would highly recommend the original tales of phantasia as well as vespiria.

That's not Tales of Eternia. That's Tales of Destiny 2. unless they are called differently in other country.
Tales of Eternia is the actual name. They renamed it in the original English release to avoid potential copyright with Heman.
