- After experiencing a weird vibration issue with my 2023 BMW G87 M2 and BMW not wanting to fix it, I decided to try to fix it myself. I made some interesting discovories in the process and in today's video I will share all of it with you all.

lol no way yall don't understand how dealerships work, they try everyway to get out of doing warranty work. because they aint making money so when a dude comes ,with modded suspension and other things of course they'll turn him around dealers always have been this was warranty then they punked him out of further warranty work ggs
maybe in the US but for sure not like that in europe . only car iv ever bought new is a old bmw e92 330d ( 2008 ) , sold that in 2019 and had a flawless experience with my dealership .

Personally I would’ve put the car back to completely stock form … seems like over the years BMW has become way more strict with the work they warranty out. But him not being transparent about what you’d be bringing the car back for is insane and terrible professionalism.

I used to work at a BMW dealership. A lot of the M cars brought in for complaints are heavily and badly modified. In almost all cases, vibrations and noises disappeared after removing wheel spacers, coilovers etc. So I kinda understand the dealership for not wanting to work on the car.
However they could have just told him to remove everything and come back. The way they handled the whole case is laughable. Where I used to work (somewhere in Europe), we were still trying to fix the issue by making sure it wasn't the mods' fault. If we were out of ideas, we would tell the customer to remove the mods.
BMW always had quality issues with brakes. The rotors and hubs rub against each other producing clicking sounds and the brakes generally wear out unevenly and quickly. Even shitting European brands don't have that issue. So much for ze GeRmAn QuAlItY.

But again taking the car back to stock will always be the best bet, I absolutely wouldn’t be bringing the car back multiple times modified after being told the mods were an issue. After the 2nd attempt it would’ve went to bone stock lol
That's every dealership. If they can not have the manufacturer sign off on the repair, they do not want to touch your car. I don't think that's a customer service issue as much as it's a reflection of the economy.
Shop foreman was probably giving you hints to demod everything, before they submit a puma case. Additionally, shop foreman will likely face disciplinary action for giving you such a wide berth on demodding before warranty claims. Everybody knows that the mods are not the cause of the problem. However, once BMW NA gets a hold of any evidence they will find every excuse for voiding warranty claims. It is a bummer.
It's illegal to cancel a warranty due to aftermarket modification. They can only deny individual claims that THEY can prove said modification caused the claimed damage. Easy win in court
@@stillrecklessdriving Understood. Most people would walk away. For N63 owners this dude Joon Bang put up 3 million dollars in attorneys' fees and expenses for that damn oil consumption issue. Of course he won and BMW NA fully reimbursed him the fees, etc. My thought process... is that somebody with a non-modded M2 should file a class action lawsuit. That way it is cut and dry and should only take a couple of years to get to a conclusion.
that is what I gathered watching this video too. most BMW dealership are friendly to modifications, but if they can't duplicate certain issue, they have to get BMW NA to escalate the claim to approve replacing all related components. AND BMW NA would want proof that the parts connecting to the "issue" is all stock. That is why his advisor or foreman hint multiple time to tell him to remove the mods especially IF they mentioned his lowering springs.
@@shoe3k right whats up with all these car "experts" that have never had a new car that was modded and read a few things online. They sure as hell can and will deny your warranty. Yea you can fight it and "prove" your mod didnt effect said part but its a whole lengthy process and pita. Some people fight that shit for years. Much better off hiding the mods and saving a headache.

Hi! I have a tune/race shop, ive seen things like this with porsche amg and M cars with drilled rotors. Usually drilled rotors will cause vibrations, try swapping the rotors over to Girodisc, and lightly sand your brake pads before putting them on. Your oem pads look crystallized though, maybe follow a better bedding in procedure next time!
I’m surprised BMW allowed you to take mods off and then come back in to inspect, usually they tell you “sorry mate you have voided your warranty” and that would be the end of it 😆
Imagine modifying a car whose warranty only covers OEM equipment and then wanting the manufacturer to still cover issues lmfao.
Yeah they literally gave him multiple chances to take the mods off and he just kept coming back
denying warranty for that is illegal in America. the warranty woudl still apply to the rest of the car where it is not modified.
Wow yeah this does suck. This, as you’ve found out though, is why you don’t go messing with cars still under warranty. My AMG unfortunately needed a couple of things fixed/flat out replaced and I’ve paid zero dollars for over $6k of work in all. I wish you better and that your channel continues to do well and grow.
I did 33k miles on my first G80 and 12k on my current one without a single issue ever. For the most part, these new M's are SOLID.
I love my 23 comp x… it’s a monster. It’s 100% stock because i love the warranty 😂

BMW knows that they need to do better. If this becomes a larger thing involving more people, like you mentioned, they'll likely be much more compliant in the future. Keep your chin up. I have 4000 miles (3000 of them are hard miles on back roads with hard breaking) on my M2 and after watching this video ran out to garage to check the rotors. Mine have zero waves and look brand new. I do not have an HEA spec and have a CA car which did not sit at the port. I think your conclusions are probably correct. The most interesting thing you discovered are that the break pads on your car are different then the M3/M4 pads. I wonder if that is the case on all the M2's or just the HEA cars?
Well you can see the brake pad difference without removing the wheels. The weights that were present on the G80 pads are visible up front.
Here’s what I think is happening. BMW is trying to balance the pad compound to make it nice and quiet for the street but also have the thermal capacity to handle a lot of hard stops. Typically pads that can handle a lot of heat abuse tend to squeal and customers don’t like that. So I think either they miscalculated the pad compound or perhaps they changed Suppliers and that’s why some deposits from the pads can get transferred to the rotors under hard braking and cause vibrations.
Sitting at port was definitely a problem, but typically found at PDI, and in most cases can be resolved with some hard braking removing build up. This could be the wavey. The wavey is not the vibration however...
It could cause some noise and potential hotspots leading to warpage and glazing, but the spacers can do this too. If you didn't show them the spacers in the first place, I bet they would have covered it. Hard as a tech to determine, after the PDI with no notes on rotors issues, that the wavey rotors were from sitting at port and not the spacer mod..

He is stupid for bringing it to a dealer modded in the first place. Sure the tech probably has enough mechanical knowledge to know the issue is unrelated, but do u think the managers/warranty administrators can tell the difference? Even if the tech does not document the mods, the service advisor likely will. Once it's documented it's pretty much impossible to go through warranty claims as a stock car would. It may still be possible, but prepare to fight every claim with corporate.
@@rdub6941 bullshit, he didn't modify the car in any way that would cause the warping on normal use, ( normal use considering they are CROSS DRILLED is normal use is RACING USE ) or below expected use. the rotors, pads, and calipers where all stock, and spacers are machined to be flat, so long as wheel is properly torqued, there should be no warping in the rotor, in addition he replaced the PADS not the rotor, and the issue went away, this should be covered 100% by warranty. and BMW NA should pay the service dpet and tech for the pad swap. as others in comments have mentioned issue is present on other non modified cars a TSB should be created and sent out.
not to mention aftermarket wheels are generally LIGHTER then factory wheels, so even rotational mass is not a contribution to the issue.

Just to be clear, BMW repair videos and video content on common problems on BMWs IS the reason why I bought one. Seems counter productive in a sense, but the reality is channels like this, made me buy one. Maybe BMW should thank you

I doubt it, there's some kind of use case that makes this happen, but it's not everyone. It's been happening for ~10 years since the F10 M5 was introduced with the 6 pot calipers and they haven't recalled anything yet. Changing the brake pad almost always fixes it permanently.
Mod a car, post it on TH-cam, annoy and upset the dealer and now he can sue? You are delusional.

Oh no he didn't, this is a well known and documented issues where a pad swap is the fix? you don't say, Pads are BMW, rotors are BMW, calipers are BMW, they still carry the warranty, regardless of his mods, as his mods didn't change the factory system for the brakes.
This turns me off buying a bmw. You are spending $75k+ on a bmw it shouldn't have these issues and if they do bmw needs to address and fix it.
Clearly that BMW service department, its service manager, shop forman, and dealership owner do everything and anything to deny warranty claims. Why? Theirs no money in warranty work. This dealership is a scummy place, and very likely have poor customer satisfaction

I own a G82 Comp and I agree completely. I think BMW is trying very hard to compete with Porsche in performance and price, which is a problem. My G82 cost $20k MORE than my F82 did when I bought it new, but it doesn't feel like $20k more car. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for a 3/4 series to breach $100k!

To be honest they have always been expensive thats nothing new. Its just a BMW thing to always have atleast a few flaws. No BMW is ever truly free of issues.
Same as they ever were with inflation... some even more than g80. E30 m3 was roughly 100k usd msrp after adjustment
No problem with mine. They’ve always cost around the same amount, we’re seeing inflation but most people aren’t getting paid more to account for it.

I guess you are new here? If you want a bmw, you need a big wallet or a friend's - mechanics. Behind bmw looks and power stands a lot of issues and headaches and that's with every bmw model..
i guess you have no idea what means "having car under warranty" i mean you can always try to sue bmw after bying new car and modding it and crying after they dont want to fix ur car
every single premium car dealer will f*ck you over the moment they see you modified your car simply because the reparations of every car within the warranty are paid for mostly by the dealer who wants to save as much on those things as possible so naturally they act the same way as insurance companies - decline the service the moment the see an opportunity.. this is not a bmw thing and it’s not true that bmws are unreliable anymore as people are used to older generations (which btw all older gen german premium cars like audi and mercedes have just as many issues but those people don’t really b*tch about that so they don’t look like they have money issues) and in fact from 2010 bmws are second most reliable premium cars out there after porsche

Warrantys and mods mix like water and oil. Im sorry about that man, you even proved that it wasn't related but they are being difficult. When I worked as a finance manager and Chrysler and sold extended warrantys I would make it very clear to my customers to keep the car completely stock and do all the factory required services to keep their warranty in good standing. I saved a lot of people from making that mistake. But you are a creator whos business is car modding content so this is just a business expense for you. Keep up the great work, you're helping people out.
The entire problem was that your original pads were glazed. You could have fixed this easily by yourself if you just sanded the pads down to remove the glaze from the pads. I've had the same issue and it was an easy fix.
from a BMW tech, The scoring on the rotors is normal. its due to the metals in the brake pads. some parts of the pads are harder thus causing the grooves. BMW's are notorious for warping rotors. they can warp 2 ways, 1 heat, which since those rotors are drilled should not be an issue and the other is pads hanging up causing uneven wear/high low spots on the rotor which will also give you the feeling of a pulsating brake pedal. you can't resurface those drilled rotors from what I know. find a good replacement like Hawk rotors and pads. you may still have noise but no vibration. also make sure you clean all contact points. only use silicone grease on the edges of the backing plate and not on the back of the pad where it touches the pistons of the caliper. also for reference next time you go to the dealer take off all aftermarket things first so this doesn't happen again. I feel like you learned that(the hard way) if you have any questions feel free to ask. beautiful car you have there.
I would definitely resurface those rotors prior to installing the new pads. They will work great to begin with but over time your rotors will eat up the pads. Im glad it wasnt an ABS issue honestly. Pads and rotors are easy
It is not recommended to resurface slotted or drilled rotors.
'Turning' rotors is old school....and....well....I've been 'a car guy' since the 1970's and the last time I 're-surfaced' rotors was LONG-LONG ago. I have always driven some sort of 'performance' vehicle and have modded every vehicle I have ever owned. I'm 61yo and recently bought the first auto trans vehicle I have owned since 1983....a work truck....and it sucks.
Anyway....'turning rotors' is just a way for shops to make you have to buy new rotors sooner.....it really solves NOTHING.

I resurface the rotors some times because there's a rotor problem with one their newer cars. As soon as I saw this video I started wondering if you could even resurface slotted or drilled rotors, thanks for bringing it up!

I generally go 10k Miles (2 brake pad sets) before they start vibrating, and the resurface once and get another 5k out of them.

This is not uncommon with the F87 M2 Comp, F10 M5, or other BMWs with 6 pot calipers etc. It's been happening for years. It seems to be caused by pad material transfer to the rotors that becomes semi-permanent. Some people claim to have fixed it by replacing the pads with more aggressive track pads that scrub the rotor of the hardened deposits. Almost no one has this problem if you replace the pads. Not sure if you need new rotors or not honestly. I don't have any proof but my theory is that this pad material is not suitable for high performance cars. If you notice, somewhere a few years ago the brake dust on all Euro cars became brown instead of the old grey/black looking dust. The pad material is now a low copper Euro 6 compliant material which is even dustier. It seems like it just has the tendency to do this under some conditions. I would just replace the OEM pads and not look back.
We had one at our dealer that was doing the same thing. Warranty admin unloaded the parts shotgun and gave it a new steering rack, brake booster, and other bs. In the end, resurfacing the rotors and flat sanding the pads was the only thing that fixed it. Hope this helps anyone in the future!
tell your SA to submit as a TSB for this issue, that way all BMW shops are aware.

@@khodges2 all due respect, but do you want me to say that if I put aftermarket wheels, then in case if my engine will fail, then warranty will not cover it? You have to assess the modification against the defect and manufacturer should state why they deny warranty. In this case, customer is able to provide that by changing the brake pads,, vibration is gone. So the lawyer would be to sue the dealer for not being able to diagnose the problem. And for wasting time.

Sucks bmw isn’t helping but you can’t blame them. As soon as you touch the car and it’s no longer all oem, they wanna shift blame. I wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes a recall however

They spend millions in engineering R&D and then new owner thinks he knows better, modifies the car with zero research or testing, then you’re surprised the BMW has a problem it that?
resurface the rotors, you will have plenty of material to stay in specs for the rotor. This is so easy to fix. Resurface the rotors and swap new pads.
You'll see a TSP / recall come out in a few months about it. Id like to know what the dealership was so we can know who to avoid. Also, I would recommend taking this up with BMW NA customer service.

@@blade643 Definitely Fields BMW of Winter Park (CFL). Dealt with them and the foreman before and it went as bad as this video shows. Terrible customer service. That was for non-warranty work btw, I was going to pay out of pocket, but they refused to touch my car and didn't want to do the work. I knew the exact issue and told them what needed to be replaced as well. They made me wait a week for an appointment just to tell me they didn't want to do the work. Wasting people's time.
@@VehicleViralsYup contact BMW NA also from my experience, different dealerships deal with these things differently… some are willing to work with you especially if you’ve bought alot of cars from them. I had my M4 upgraded to Dinan and a Turbo S modded too and my dealers worked with me but not other ones that I haven’t bought cars from.
Can’t believe they are being so dirty about such simple mods! There is an entire industry behind these simple mods for making the car better for track days. Plus I thought some of this stuff was addressed with the Magnuson Moss Act in the 70’s. I understand that they want to protect their interest in factory parts replacement but at the same time, what are they saying about all their value added, modification, manufacturer partners out there?
Jeep owner here. I've seen this all the time. Dealer does not want to deal with the issue and is using your modifications as an excuse to send you on your way.
The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act requires the manufacturer to prove that your modifications have affected the car with respect to what you are seeking warranty for. They are operating against the law if they are throwing out your modifications as affecting the issue if they are clearly not involved. This is a good case to send BMW a letter seeking clarification and requiring their response (serving them).
Dude. If you want your car warranty on a new car, DONT. MODIFY. YOUR. CAR! You clearly knew the consequences of your actions, and you took the risk. The reason they are so strict about warranty work is because people take advantage of them all the time and have ruined it for everyone. I know how mad you must be, because I did the same thing with another car I had and they eventually declined all warranty repairs even though they were unrelated. So yeah, don't blame BMW, but put the blame where it belongs - on the assholes who mod their car, then return it to stock to get warranty work done! THEY are the reason for this nonsense. BMW is a business, and is just doing this to avoid getting taken advantage of.
I would bring it to another dealer ,There is a clause in warranty ex , If you change your wipers to another brand and you have a transmission problem they can’t deny a claim because you don’t have stock wiper blades , you can easily prove what the problem is at this point
It’s not rust or rotor problem. It’s the compound of brake pad material. I had the same problem with my Audi RS4. The oem brake pads are junk with you have to run upgraded pads if you do any enthusiastic driving. Thanks for the video.
Thats how they are. Even when the car is completely stock they have issue honoring warranty so. On my experience I dont care about warranties anymore. If I can afford the mod and the issues later I go ahead, if not I wait but I know I’m on my own at all times.
Sometimes it depends on the dealer when it comes to turning the other way on warranty fixes with mods in place. Definitely depends on the mods and the issue.

Had the same issue with my 2023 M3, not with the 2021 one though.
Did some hard breaking 180 km/h to 60 and it went away for a couple of weeks.

Maybe some weird intolerance of the materials of the rotors and pads.
The car never had rust on it, garage only ;-)
What color calipers?
Red. Both times.
Mine had the same. I was informed, the breaks are soft breaks and huge, you are expected to go on track with these. Going on track day once resolved my problem. lol
The wavey wear on the rotors is a characteristic of drilled rotors. Drilled rotors wear unevenly due to the holes in the rotor they always wear a wavey effect into the rotor.
It happens to most drilled rotors and is not specific to BMW.
So you know, the weights on the M3 pads are most likely for vibration control.
Another method used to cut vibration is to chamfur the edges of the pad so the edges of the pad are not 90 degrees to the rotor.
Yo , as a dealer tech I’m just say they just didn’t want to do WARRANTY work, service manager figured out a way to not warranty your brakes and you get stuck with the option of pony up the money and replace them or take the car out the shop and I say replace them yourself with a upgrade and move on with life
in general, all drilled-through rotors are problematic because they tend to shave the pads more quickly, unevenly and after few thousand miles of hard use, they start cracking themselves starting from those holes so it could be also the reason it creates vibrations under soft braking..
Newer well designed rotors do not have those issues. The drill pattern promotes and even pad wear. They will increase pad wear, but evenly.
The rotors also have been stress tested to ensure they do not develop cracks between the holes. Only after the rotor wears down past it’s lifetime will it be at risk of developing cracks.
This isn't the issue. It's uneven pad material transfer. No one knows exactly what conditions lead to it. There's been a lot of people with this issue on F10 M5 and F87 M2 Comp that have a similar front brake setup. One guy had his pads+rotors replaced 4 times under warranty until he replaced the pads with aftermarket and never had an issue again.

@@ravasmathias It's not that it's cheap, it's just a street pad and the Euro 6 low copper regulations mean they can't handle the heat like the old materials could. No OEM street pad can handle track use on a car this fast.
@@alextasarov1341your response is not entirely correct. The holes are for degassing and the rotors do crack from the cross drilled holes. So much so that manufacturers advise against them for track use.

I got warranty work done last month at first they told me I wasn’t covered even tho it’s listed on the covered parts then they told me half was covered and the bill the 3 times what is was initially . Had to pay for half of the work, after that my car was still experiencing the issues they insisted that it was fixed but I had a video but after it sat in the shop for another few hours they recommended a engine bay clean for 600 and they car didn’t need any work. then they tell me my dif is going bad they tell it’s covered but not until it breaks but they can do it now for 7k 😂. Then they send me a email saying they want to purchase my car for 1/2 it’s value but say sent a report saying it’s in excellent condition makes no sense. I remember when warranty work was done no questions asked. Thanks for the great content.
Perhaps you could get those discs skimmed? I don't know if you can do that to drilled rotors?

It is in theory possible to turn drilled or slotted rotors but it's bad practice. When considering the risk of possible cracks forming between the drilled holes of the rotors it's a major danger for brake failure. More or less safe to do with rotors that are only slotted though, but the slots become less effective with the more material that is taken away by skimming the surface. On a new car or with new rotors? Completely unacceptable in any case and should be a complete replacement.
as much as i liked the g82 m3's i decided not to purchase them anymore because their customer service isnt really there anymore when it comes to their cars. i had the same issue with the f82 m4 and they never wanted to fix the brakes and it still seems to be an issue with their current gen m cars. i just went ahead and got myself a type r. maybe if they bring back their old customer service id reconsider another new M car

The wear in the rotors is normal, for the kind of spirited driving you do. Unfortunately the pads have been an issue with the new m cars and m sport brakes
Usually when installing new rotors you want to break them in by doing a few drives 40mph and coming to almost a stop but not stopping. Repeating these steps like 4 times will treat the rotors and break em in and you shouldn't get any weird uneven wear waviness etc... But those rotors should be smooth no groves or waves in them. Players playing their game.... Pads could be cheap causing grooves in the rotors causing the vibration. That sucks. It will come back bro with time. Rotors will cause uneven wear on the pads resulting in the same crap. Not right away but definitely when the pads wear into those grooves.
Modern era BMW fucking up not only the design of their cars but their client support as well.
Tbh bro you should have never modified it while it was still in warranty, always gotta be careful with stuff like this, maybe its US market only, I’ve never heard of this issue - another thing is you should have removed all mods before you took it the first time, dealerships do everything they can not to do sh*t for customers lol.
Everyone knows mods (especially suspension and engine mods) void a warranty. Idk why everyone is so surprised here.
They need to provide evidence that the mod caused your vehicle to vibrate, they can't just cancel your warranty, that guy at the dealer is indeed a snake, he suppose to advise what he was doing with your vehicle, you thought it was for repairs but he was busy documenting the mods.

Mods almost always void a warranty on a new car. Not saying what they did was cool, but its a fact.
Always bring your car back to stock if you want guaranteed warranty work.

It's interesting that a lot of people talk about the importance of "bedding in" new pads, but there's nothing in the manual about it. I bought a 2024 M2 a few weeks a go and did a couple of hard high speed stops on my way home. Now I'm struggling with self control to avoid full throttle and redline. 😉1200 miles seems like overkill for break in....

Rear and front lip produces too much downforce, causing warping to the rotors. Also that strut brace is a ticking time bomb for the engine 😂

I used to work for bmw I saw this all the time the reason why they don’t want to service it is because warranty will kick back the claim and the technician won’t get payed … warranty what they’ll do is cut the rotors and replace the pads .. those rotors were probably warped due to going fast and then heating up the rotors and running into water getting the rotors wet … that’s how u warp rotors and u can even see also on the rotor a little .. don’t be surprised if it happens again in a couple months
It only gets kicked if you write it up like an idiot. Rotors don't "warp" in the sense of wobble, they get thickness variations and hardness variations. These variations are formed from unequal cooling. The most common way this happens is parking a car with very hot rotors. The area shrouded by the pad cools at a different rate. The next time you use the brakes you'll experience the issue. Go ask anyone that tracks a car, they will clue you in.
Thanks for the heads up! I’ve got 2024 M2 and I’m at 2320 KM. I’m scheduled for first service this coming Monday and so far no issues with my breaks except the squeaking sound every time I break at low speeds. Might be dust or chips stuck between the pads and the rosters but I’m definitely going to ask them to check the breaks! I live in Germany and my car is US spec

Welcome to BMW ownership. After owning multiple ///M cars, I found out the hard way, like you, that BMW in general does care.

Going to the dealers is not always the best idea.
Specially cause your car is modified.
So look for a independent shop that really knows what they're doing.
One that deals with modified cars.
Mods aside, they tricked you into wasting your time/gas to bring the car in under false pretenses. They had no intention of doing anything but documenting your car and voiding your warranty. Did you risk voiding the warranty modding the car? yes. Should you be pissed that they misled you purposely in order to snitch to BMW? absolutely yes.
That's how it is. When you mod the car, you are now the mechanic and engineer, so have to figure out on your own. Usually, leave it stock a while from new to make sure there's no issues before you start modding....
Bought a brand new M2. Bought all fancy and expensive parts for it so just pay the 2k for the new rotors and be done with it.
Dealers don't like messing with modified stuff because they've probably been burned in the past. People installing aftermarket parts on wrong or the parts themselves are junk. Dealers spends all this time trying to find an issue, just to realize it was because of a aftermarket part. Just staying.
It's the risk you pay for messing with a brand new car. I get it man, but sometimes you lose every now and then..
I can see if your motor had issues or trans went, electrical issue, and so on. But once you mess with wheels, wheel spacers, coil overs, and bracing your now altering suspension geometry which can effect tires and braking and who knows what else. Just giving them the excuse to void certain warranty issues now. Probably a bad batch of rotors from the start but now the dealer can snake you.
Worked for a few dealers over the years as a mechanic. Such a shady world full of scumbags and greed.
You go to a dealer with a brand new vehicle to sort out an issue and end up getting your vehicle red flagged 🤦🏾♂️ #FUCKTHEDEALER
Tbh, I don't blame the BMW dealership. The mods are most definitely "questionable". Wheel spacer eBay mods, Chinese wheel stud "upgrade" that I would guarantee are worse than the OEM studs you took out... BMW should have voided your entire warranty.
I would recommend resurfacing the rotors if it becomes a issue again, it would be the cheaper route. But wow that BMW employee did some bs!

Deep in their mind, they won't expect BMW owners, especially M owners to NOT mod the car. It's just easier for them to find a blame goat. Foreman also listen to what the boss say. So keep grinding and collect evidence. It will help the M community eventually.
If your car has the optional M compound pads its probably the pads. Most track / racing pads are very aggressive and vibrate / squeak like that when coming to a stop as they are meant for high speeds and temperatures. Im not sure what pad compound BMW uses but I have experienced this very issue with may cars running racing pads in the past.
It looks like he has the carbon bucket seats, here in the uk that is part of the “track pack”. The pads he removed from the m2 look like the upgraded m performance pad which will have more NVH.

Had this problem. I own a couple BMWs. Front thrust arm bushings are too soft. Under harder braking you get vibrations when your rotors are corroded a bit. Your wheel spacers increase offset and that will make things more pronounced as your front tires aren't maintaining consistent toe-in and may see toe-out on braking
this deserves a lot more attention. It's BS they declined you for their F ups...
To be fair to BMW you knew the rules regarding modding your car while it's under warranty. You have zero grounds to complain. Still, glad you sorted the issue..

Edit: I was not prepared for the ending. I don't understand why the dealer would go through that effort to hurt you. What incentive does a dealer have to deny you repairs? Do they get a kickback from BMW for snitching on modded cars? I can't imagine, but I wonder.
Maybe they have to take photos of all warranty repairs and if modded, BMW will deny dealer payment.
Bro I have a 23 M3.. I can feel your frustration. Dealing with BMW dealerships feel like you are going to a hospital always prepared for Bad News.
I had the same issue on my 23 M3, at 2k miles. Tech blamed me for using tire spray or rotors damaged by ceramic coating. I took the car to another dealership in the area they kept the car for full week and couldn't diagnose the issue, trying to blame my aftermarket mods. Eventually I got the GM involved and he literally got my pads and rotors changed in 1 day at no cost.
He is a great guy! And I have literally no words to thank him.
However, after another 1k miles that issue is back and I think it's the brake pads again, can't be rotors. I am just going to break all hell loose on pads first to see if I am able to bed them otherwise I will take it back to dealership.
Bmw tech here, if you installed the aftermarket studs, vibration will be created, if you have painted wheels and they painted the face where it meets the rotor vibration will be created. They have been aggressive about it bc too much money been wasted for brakes. Bmw brakes as per bmw dont vibrate, if the vehicle is sitting and corrosion show up also will voided, then dealership will have to pay if they installed new one

My first car out of college was a 1999 VW GLX VR6. I had a bad MAF which they were notorious for so because it was under warranty, I brought it to the dealer. I had a few modifications as well. Dealership called me back in the afternoon to pick up the car so I get a ride over and did they fix the problem? NO…THEY VOIDED MY WARRANTY. List my business for life and I always do my very best to steer any and all away from VW
Dude, I’ve owned 7 BMWs over a period of 18 years and I finally had it. I sold all of them and moved on to other cars. I got tired of all the BS BMW gives you when problems come up. This video hits home for me because it’s exactly how I felt time and time again.

Car tuning is not a dealer thing, which honestly I agree, it's you're problem for putting something that's not stock.
Cars nowadays are very tightly tuned from factory, anything from a third part might cause more issues, mostly because car companies want you to change your car more often

Comes with the modding territory … i mean the moment you decide to touch up your car you are entering the world of “potential problems with increased probability and/or significantly increased happiness”…. There is no guarantee… their response or way of treating your problem is not the most customer friendly to say the least BUT it is more or less what you would expect world wide…😮

My BMW Advisor at the dealership advised me when I got my M340xi few years ago, "make sure your mods don't affect drivability standards we guarantee, or it will not be covered and may void warranty". LLF had to deal with the same stuff. Am not surprised, but it sucks either way.
