I honestly preferred the Android saga over the later Cell saga of the Artificial human arc. There was suspense in the saga, expanded lore, and even the settings and environments were different from the usual desert wasteland battlegrounds in other sagas. The Cell games had Gohan going Ss2, but the plot is not as interesting.

He's also the reason we have Cell, my favorite character. As well as 17 and 18 who are favorites among many, which in the long run saved the universe as 17 won the tournament. So we have Gero to thank for that.

What makes it funnier is that Cell was the ultimate backup plan that was never needed. Just for insurance 😭. The androids were clearly more than enough but he made that OP ass character.

Dr. Gero computer was never destroyed in the movie when the z Fighters fought against 13, 14, and 15. What if that computer has been watching the Z Fighters all this time in Dragon Ball Super and finally has an android capable of defeating Goku?
You'd think Gero would have the technology necessary to make the remote that disables 17 & 18 be part of his body instead of a big, easily-crushable switch.

They would have had to continue the sham they tried at first for a lot longer and obliterate Gero when he was distracted, before he could even realize what was happening. In other words, it would have taken the better part of an episode or even longer.
Dr. Gero is the one human/android whose heart was truly dark akin to Frieza, Cell, Kid Buu. Goku would be more than justified to kill him if he really wanted to do so.
