- Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are finally here and with them come changes to popular shiny hunting methods including mass outbreaks and the Masuda method! We'll be taking a look at how to get shiny pokemon using one of these methods, and see how I got my very first shiny in the Paldea region: shiny Paldean Wooper!

Small tip: instead of using so much ingredients, use bananas, butter and peanut butter for egg power 2 (which is like 10 eggs every 2-5 mins)

It is really easy to hunt for Shines, Finding them is the hard part. Like Shines that Barely Change could be a bit difficult to spot, especially with the new Generation of Pokémon
Yeah FR. My first slowpoke was shiny, and I only realized because I was going to try and catch it anyway. I had to catch a second slowpoke to be sure.
Your reaction was adorable! When I see a shiny my heart either feels like it stopped for a second or is going beat right out of my chest. Like when I hatched a shiny dusk form Rockruff on my birthday in like 8 eggs in Ultra Moon. I wasn't even trying to get a shiny, I was just hatching and raising them to trade to people who didn't have them at the time, it was like the game gave me a birthday present. I named her Alberta since my birthday happens to be on Canada Day! :3
This might be a weird thing but I've started doing all of my egg hatching in the Team Star Poison base in the Tagtree Thicket. There are no pokemon that spawn in there and if you go to the middle and are far enough away from the 4 NPCs on the Cyclizars you can set up a picnic without having to leave the area like you do in towns, and then I can just hold my control stick to the right with one hand and run in a circle until they hatch. There is no lag in here because nothing in spawning and the NPCs dont move so I dont have to avoid anything. It's a nice spot to just passively get eggs and hatch.

@ShinyCatherine what would the odds be with a jpn shiny ditto and a regular english non shiny pokemon breeding wise as was wondering how many eggs I would need to get a shiny that way? Also would breeding a jpn shiny ditto with another shiny English pokemon increase the chance of getting one as well?

You know what’s unfair, I started Pokémon Scarlet 10 hours before my little brother but in his 10 hours in a game he found 2 full odds shiny’s in 5 minutes

You can also hatch eggs in the team start bases, where pokemon don't spawn and you can still picnic

My first shiny in Scarlet/Violet was Gyarados. I really do love Gyarados in red, so I was very happy with that. Still thinking over what to name my big bby Pokemon!

I also got my favorite shiny! Wasn’t my find though. My friend found it during a Tera raid and gifted it to me! Making him even more special. That being Zorua. I have two Shiny Zoruas and Hisui Zoroark and Zorua waiting to explore the new region with me!

I got super lucky and got a shiny hoppip at the start of the game right after the game makes you battle your first Pokémon
I know its silly but I have a Volcarona that I have had from the game it first showed up in. Its been my go to egg hatcher for YEARS now. Just a sweet dedicated fluffy moth nanny.
I did the masuda method and I got a shiny fuecoco after only 40 eggs hatched! It's my fastest ever shiny

Nice vid! I believe when an egg hatches in the overworld, its 100% tied to your player characters position, because i managed to hatch an egg while walking down a slope, and it hatched at an angle XD

A tip!if you camp nearby a item on the ground, your Pokémon will pick it up and duplicate in your basket.
3:59 if you walk around in the middle of the plaza ( where the big battle ground thing in front of the school Uva/ naranja ) no npc walks there and the middle is mostly empty so just circle around a lot

Hatching in towns is nice but I found a random shiny tarountula while doing laps of the region to hatch so it's very worth it to hatch while out and about.
There are also venders in Medali and Alfornada with Egg Power 2.
As soon as I heard the words “Masuda Method” I just thought “well, this is already frustrating, I don’t have a Nintendo account (thanks forgetfulness) so I can’t trade with anyone to get language variations or complete the Pokédex to get the shiny charm” that being said, I’ll still watch the video, and I do have 4 random shinies…but trying to breed a shiny gyarados WITHOUT the Medusa method or shiny charm with 1 in 4000 odds…has been a pain

1:26 Picnics also cannot be done in Area Zero nor can you masuda method for the Paradox pokemon.
SPOILER this will only matter for PC because on mobile when you check replys it automatically shows the message people are replying to in whole.
But instead of picknicing in area zero/masuda method you can just eat a sparkling power 3 sandwhich and then enter the area really

The earliest shiny I caught in Scarlet was a Houndour Immediately before Koraidon saved me from Houndoom at the start of the game... and when I went back after getting a few gym badges, I found another one. Full Fucking Odds!

Once when I was hatching eggs, I jumped off a cliff and then the egg started hatching at the bottom of the sea,the egg I was hatching was a fire type!
I got my shiny wooper on a poison type sandwich in the wild its so cute it had a sleepy time mark and I gave it an everstone
I discovered today that picnics are also unavailable in Area Zero
the funny thing is that i got a shiny wooper on my 7th egg without a shiny charm using the ditto method. and it hatched on Christmas day at 12:00 am. I named them Boomerang cuz my sibling were playing boomerang foo at the time. I dont know how i got so lucky with that but i still have the little guy at level 4 and he will stay a baby forever :3
Also if you picnic near a sparkly item laying on the ground (not pokeballs. Sparkly specifically) and no egg group matching Pokémon, if you check the basket as you would for eggs instead of eggs you’ll get duplicates of that sparkly item.

May be a bit late but you can buy egg power 2 in Medali and it even comes with fairy encounter if you wanna run outside the city

You can buy the "Compote du fils" for Egg lvl 2. You find the french restaurant in Cascarrafa, Medali and Alfornado. Costs 2000 money but still faster.
I got a shiny Sprigatito wirhout the shiny charm in 30 eggs. It was amazing :o And after that a Formantis in only 20 eggs.

Yeah I'm 20 hours in not even trying I've found a shinx, gogoat, and most important a fidough. I usually only see at MOST one per run. To be fair tho, only encountering them in groups does help a ton as opposed to single encounters in grass or even the small groups in sw/sh and arceus
Been trying to get shiny riolu to step up catching one with a beast ball first try in s/m, got it after getting shiny charm on the first egg batch but it was male :( going to try the sandwich sparkle and reload save with my one beast ball maybe

I would like to mention, for Masuda Method, location doesnt matter! It's purely language based! I was able to start another save in Japanese, catch two JPN dittos, and then trade them to my gf to trade one back to myself.
