Shiny Finizen was the first ever Finizen I encountered, so I had no idea that wasn’t the colour it was supposed to be. Thankfully I didn’t run past it and figure I could pick one up later, the sparkles were a big surprise!

You’re not an actual fucking tree so I don’t think you’re a seasonal variant?” Just me casually in denial, coming up with all the reasons why it can’t be a shiny before I finally encounter it 😂
Same thing happened with Espathra for me. I wanted to catch it because I hadn’t seen the Pokémon before and I thought it looked cool, and it was shiny! Used her on my team for the rest of the game, named her Cleo.
Unless you’re color blind this is the easiest shiny hunting game there has ever been. A sandwhich and charm basically guarantees at least one shiny unless you miss it

My first random shiny in Pokemon Violet was a Gastly (named it "Shroud") In Pokemon Sword, it was a Cutiefly (named it "Redbombee", and I evolved it) In Pokemon Ultra Sun....... It was a wormhole Magcargo (but wormhole = gonna happen, and it's lost to time anyway) Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, I got a shiny Starly while trying to radar hunt for a shiny Sentret, the next time I turn on Brilliant Diamond, I'm thinking about wonder trading the Starly to someone else, I don't really want her (named the Starly "Pipp", and I named the Sentret "Gold Heart", I only evolved the Sentret) In Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, I got a completely random shiny Psyduck, and the funny thing is that, this happened about 20 or 30 minutes after I found the shiny Nickit I was hunting for on my Pokemon Sword (named the Psyduck after the water starter of Paldea, "Quaxly", and I named the Nickit "Cookie") The only other shiny I got right now is a Golett I evolved into Golurk, it was my first ever shiny hunt and I did it in Pokemon Sword (I named it "Lucky", which is quite ironic because it's ability was Klutz)
I hate how the shinies can immediately blip out of existence in this game 😞 (it doesnt work that way in Legends Arceus, I checked) I lost a shiny Foretress because of that, literally showed up for a few frames but then moved out of range before I could get to it and just disappeared into the ether
Idk about the arceus thing, in my game i found a shiny buizel in an area i couldn’t get to yet (near Alpha Floatzel), and i kept checking as i progressed and it stayed, but as soon as I gained access, it disappeared.
@beepy beep shining sandwich recipes are locked behind post game, you need to do 5 star tera raids to get herba mystica, then you need to talk to a guy in every which way who will give you recipes for them
I initially wasn't going to use finizen on my team, but there was an outbreak one day and I said why not. I found a shiny one within 5 minutes and used it for the rest of my playthrough as a palafin
You inspire me to keep shiny hunting! Somewhere around 170 shiny Pokémon in violet and this morning I got the elusive Tandemouse outbreak! After watching you do this there is no way I can give up on the little mouse beans!

Loved the video! I have to ask though: do you simply prefer the look of quick balls over dive balls? I think throwing a dive ball could have worked out too, considering Finizen is encountered in the water; and I think the dive ball matches the colors better...

4:26 I’m new to the channel, and I am currently obsessed with OMORI. Hearing that sound effect made me happy? I’m curious, have you played or do you just like the sound?
I love videos like this, because it basically shows people what it’s like for me to shiny hunt. With how colorblind I am, I refuse to trust my eyes for the subtle shinies. I can’t see them, so I assume it’s a trick of the lighting, or a wacky reflection, or something. Even some that people say are incredibly obvious are exactly the same to me. Jolteon? Can’t tell. Popplio? Nearly impossible, I just got lucky. Garchomp and Gengar? I can look at them forever, nothing will change. They are exactly the same as the normal forms, and my brain cannot be convinced otherwise. It makes hunting extremely discouraging, because in my mind I know I’ve probably passed up a hundred shinies by now simply because I can’t see them, and that makes me not enjoy shiny hunting in this game. I still do it, because apparently I hate myself a lot more than I give myself credit for, but man it’s hard to stay motivated to hunt things like Torchic knowing full well that my eyes are actively deceiving me the entire time
I love these videos so much. If luvdisc needs a name, have it be bittersweet since you are happy that you got a shiny, but it is a shiny you have across the regions already
