Wow, just wow! I'm about to turn 30, and I had just recently come to this realization! I'm sharing this video with those who have yet to be enlightened! Also wanted to thank you, because you've convinced me to return to give Singapore another shot at tourism as soon as I can afford it! I would love to meet you! Back in 2015, I took a bus from Melaka, crossed through Johor Bahru, and into Singapore with the intention of doing a one day itinerary there. The bus riders were largely elderly European tourists with a small handful of locals. As an Arab young man, with sharp, dark features and a smallish beard, I stood out like a sore thumb. I was immediately profiled, arrested, and taken to an interrogation room. After about an hour of waiting, the bus had left without me. When the guards finally released me, I missed my transport to the correct site, and my Malaysian SIM card did not work in Singapore, despite being told that my plan would work there. I was completely disconnected. When I took a bus and asked for help, locals would ignore me and pretended not to speak English, despite English being a national language. I had a really bad impression of the people. My day's trip was ruined, as I did not arrive to my AirBnb to drop my baggage until past 7:00 PM that day. My flight back to Malaysia was 4:00 AM the next morning, and I just wanted to the leave the country after an exhausting, humid, and sticky day. I bought some noodles from a nearby hawker centre, and went back to my room, showered, slept, took a Grab Taxi to the port, and flew back the next morning. I vowed to never return there again. But that has now changed! :)

Any new graduates, teenagers, adolescents, elders, midlife crisis, anyone you think that would be open, ready and willing to listen to this. If that seems like a lot, sit down and write a letter to yourself about what you have learned that you wished you knew when you were younger, or even just from last year. Pass it on and keep a copy for yourself where you can always see it as a reminder that you've come a long way, learned something and now are moving forward. It's never to late to change your perspective, it's never to late to grow, except when your dead.
Great insight! I've stopped working for a boss in 2013. Since, I'm free to do what I want, day in day out. Could have had more money if I stayed at my job, but the freedom to plan your own day is priceless. For everyone reading this, make a plan. Go for it. When you're younger, take some risk. Actually a great and very profound question RK. I suggest you try to develop a broader skill set. Learn how to do things. Welding, machining, woodworking, as your skillset grows, opportunities will arise. Then you need to have the courage to accept the opportunities. Looking back on my several decades of life I can see several opportunities that I passed up on. For various reasons but all too often because I was too comfortable. I started saying "yes" to opportunities in my mid 30's and I couldn't have imagined having a better life. Good luck.
