Welcome back. I’d say it’s not so much market maker that move the markets but hedge funds. Market makers are just liquidity providers scalping ticks off the bid/offer spread. Plus the market will always try to make you feel stupid and make you feel max pain.
flipping & spoofing the market which is essentially what CGS is implying, is very different to market making, the latter is where you are mandated by the exchange to provide a minimum liquidity on the bid / offer spread up to certain depth across the entire futures curve. You're not doing it to make profits on directional moves, but by arbitraging inefficiencies in the curve (mean reversion) in a controlled risk manner, "bruh".@@macadood
