Despite the fact that I invest, I am saddened by my inability to evaluate each company's performance and determine whether or not this is the ideal time to purchase stocks. My monetary stockpile is being depleted by inflation. At this stage, I need accurate market trajectory data, but I'm not sure what to do.
Particularly in this weak market, there are several opportunities to generate excellent returns, but such intricate transactions can only be carried out by seasoned market professionals.
I've been thinking about going that route. I've been holding onto a lot of stocks, but they're starting to lose value, and I'm not sure if I should retain them or sell them. I think hiring your investment coach would help me restructure my portfolio.
Ken, You’re the man. My family and I weren’t able to put aside our emotions in terms of taking losses so we stopped buying on your warning but regretfully hodled and didn’t sell earlier. New subscriber here, I'm 50 and don't plan on retiring for another 5 years, my pension fund of 500k is fully invested in stocks, and the value of the fund has dropped 20% in the past 12 months. Would you advise switching some of the funds out of stocks into less risky assets, or should I sit tight and ride the storm for another year, given that I have.

That's right, a bias for action can be your worst enemy in the stock market whereas, to avoid the hustle and bustle, I'm better off using an invt advisor, saves me time and earns me weekly to monthly income since the Rona-outbreak in 2019 till date. I'm about 15% short of reaching my first $1M, so I may consider rtrmt.

I will hold even though it pains me. I missed to sell at a reasonable timing and I'm now down around 70%. If I were to sell now I'd lose over 25k I cannot even use to tax harvest. Don't have any other choice at this point. I think I'll be fine in a couple of years. Thank you for your advice Ken 💜
Just sell a certain amount to tax harvest 3k each year. Unfortunately for me, I'll be able to tax harvest for over 200 years so I'll just pass on my tax savings to my siblings before I die

@Bob Brown everyone has a different goal, you sell when your up and who knows when that could be, 5 yrs 10 yrs, 15yrs that's what holding long term is. You don't hold long term with money you need now. Steve Jobs is dead and Apple 🍎 still went up and even guys like Warren buffet bought more. Tesla is past the point of disappearing.
I love that you can’t stop yourself and keep popping occasional videos 🥳. Your advice before was buy into companies you believe in… helps when markets go crazy bad or crazy good since buying and selling based on trying to time the market leads to too much anxiety and many fails. Holding strong ~1000 shares since 2017 and been buying all the way down, more and more strong recently. Appreciate all you do, wish I had the nerves to do what you do, but selling even 5 shares I feel anxious not holding. So holding all the way up, now down and and up again in the future!!

@niking92 proven DCA and HODL wins over everything. The best performing portfolios are those of dead people. Realy no joke, look it up, those portfolios are not touched. Ken had his "do not touch" portfolio, preaching DCA and holding, untill he sold all, after that the stock recovered, he posted a video "sorry, I was wrong", but when the stock dropped again, he quickly deleted the video. Ken was lucky, good for him, but understand he is a great danger causing people mess up their portfolio. He is lucky this time, but next time, you would follow him blindly again? Good luck with the casino strategy. Ken went from investor to a trader. Most DCA investors are successfully, but very few traders are too. The thought of retirement makes me cry. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. Hi Ken, I started investment in Tesla very late and somewhere near it peak. Bought a few shares along the way down. Absolutely stop buying when you give the Sell Signal. I am 50 soon, I reckon this wil be my retirement money. So thank you once again. Will monitor and add more (in fact need to buy 23 more to reach target 100 shares). Watching my tesla drive itself through a snowstorm really helps my confidence in the long term. If this is a decade long play, why worry about price one month vs the rest. May not be the best strategy, but i sleep great buying TSLA every friday regardless of price.
This bear market is my first one. It really taught me not to be cocky. There is no easy money. I held my position from +80% until I sold at -10%. The same thing happened in my crypto portfolio. However, I'm not gonna quit. This is the best time for me to learn everything from the fundamentals. Thank you for all of your advice this year, Ken.

Guys, after TSLAs record breaking quarterly report at the end of the year, and then by another one at end of Q1, the market will wake up to the insanely low valuations. Just take advantage of it, while it lasts.
@@johnanon658 Tesla is one of the hype stocks. It's valuation is largely dependent on hype, and assumptions it will dominate all imo. Great if it does. It's like bitcoin, dependent on media to attract us small investors. Once the hype is gone it's just another company.
@@carlose6010 its a comany w higes amouts of cash, no debt, huge cash flows and margins w/ a ~50% growth rate in deliveries. That is not just another company, and at these prices, youd better be buying a both hands.

I'm down -80% on my entire portfolio and I'm using margin, really struggling with the advice to sell now, though I also understand the sunk-cost fallacy and the possibility that I'll lose even more. I've just been pouring money into my account all year to avoid a margin call and it feels like I'm just burning paycheck after paycheck. Thanks for the advice Ken!
I think you're a bit late to sell, no-one imo knows for sure if it will go down much more. I think with inflation it's possible, as many investors will need cash, not spending. Let's hope model 2 comes out. Edit: Sold at 194, bought back in, and sold again at 124. Will buy back in around 80 if it goes there.. if not no big deal to me. It's a bit of a hype stock imo.. like bitcoins past valuation.
I'm in EXACTLY the same situation as you. burning all in my income to keep meeting margin calls. For both of us, as long as we have income, and keeping paying down Margin, our money goes toward something good! I'm paying down margin, and buying a trickle of new shares as I can reducing my cost basis.

Well, I got caught for a big loss on TSLA margin because I couldn’t get myself to accept reality and take a small loss on them sooner. I finally gave up, took my losses, saved what I could and will fight again on another day. You’re the Man! Thanks for the good advice! Fortunately I’m able to use some of the loss to offset taxes on rollover from IRA to Roth
It’s easy to rejoice in your sale in retrospect but you can never time the bottom. Just as likely you can miss out. We might be down, but you are losing 10 percent inflation on cash holdings. Best bet is DCA buy and hold
I was up about 50% on TSLA and until last month I was still up on TSLA even in this bear market. Not sure why I didn’t sell ( I know, I was naive to get emotions involved) but I’m a new investor so I’m learning. I’ve learnt to put my emotions aside so no matter how much I love a company going forward, I will take profits when it shoots up high. Lesson learned but a painful one indeed, as I’m now over 15% down on TSLA.

Holding strong ~1000 shares since 2017 and been buying all the way down, more and more strong recently. Appreciate all you do, wish I had the nerves to do what you do, but selling even 5 shares I feel anxious not holding. So holding all the way up, now down and and up again in the future!!

Ken had his "do not touch" portfolio, preaching DCA and holding, untill he sold all, after that the stock recovered, he posted a video "sorry, I was wrong", but when the stock dropped again, he quickly deleted the video. Ken was lucky, good for him, but understand he is a great danger causing people mess up their portfolio. He is lucky this time, but next time, you would follow him blindly again? Since then, she has given me entry and exit points for the equities I am interested in. If you need supervision, you can look her up online. I essentially follow her market decisions, and I haven't felt sorry about it.

The thought of retirement makes me cry. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. Hi Ken, I started investment in Tesla very late and somewhere near it peak. Bought a few shares along the way down. Absolutely stop buying when you give the Sell Signal. Watching my tesla drive itself through a snowstorm really helps my confidence in the long term. If this is a decade long play, why worry about price one month vs the rest.
May not be the best strategy, but i sleep great buying TSLA every friday regardless of price.
This bear market is my first one. It really taught me not to be cocky. There is no easy money. I held my position from +80% until I sold at -10%. The same thing happened in my crypto portfolio.
However, I'm not gonna quit. This is the best time for me to learn everything from the fundamentals.

Guys, after TSLAs record breaking quarterly report at the end of the year, and then by another one at end of Q1, the market will wake up to the insanely low valuations. Just take advantage of it, while it lasts.
@@johnanon658 Tesla is one of the hype stocks. It's valuation is largely dependent on hype, and assumptions it will dominate all imo. Great if it does. It's like bitcoin, dependent on media to attract us small investors. Once the hype is gone it's just another company.
@@carlose6010 its a comany w higes amouts of cash, no debt, huge cash flows and margins w/ a ~50% growth rate in deliveries. That is not just another company, and at these prices, youd better be buying a both hands.

I'm down -80% on my entire portfolio and I'm using margin, really struggling with the advice to sell now, though I also understand the sunk-cost fallacy and the possibility that I'll lose even more. I think you're a bit late to sell, no-one imo knows for sure if it will go down much more. I think with inflation it's possible, as many investors will need cash, not spending. Let's hope model 2 comes out.
Edit: Sold at 194, bought back in, and sold again at 124. Will buy back in around 80 if it goes there.. if not no big deal to me. It's a bit of a hype stock imo.. like bitcoins past valuation.
I'm in EXACTLY the same situation as you. burning all in my income to keep meeting margin calls. For both of us, as long as we have income, and keeping paying down Margin, our money goes toward something good! I'm paying down margin, and buying a trickle of new shares as I can reducing my cost basis.
Ken say expect another 40% down… it’s 109 now. So around $69.
Keep holding! We just need Elon to stop being a redneck or at least shut up and TSLA will start to make a killing again.

Well, I got caught for a big loss on TSLA margin because I couldn’t get myself to accept reality and take a small loss on them sooner. I finally gave up, took my losses, saved what I could and will fight again on another day.

Fortunately I’m able to use some of the loss to offset taxes on rollover from IRA to Roth
It’s easy to rejoice in your sale in retrospect but you can never time the bottom. Just as likely you can miss out. We might be down, but you are losing 10 percent inflation on cash holdings. Best bet is DCA buy and hold
yeh, it makes little sense to me, if it was easy wait for the bottom as he advises, he would have done it right the first time.

I'm still buying and holding for 10+ years
I was up about 50% on TSLA and until last month I was still up on TSLA even in this bear market. Not sure why I didn’t sell ( I know, I was naive to get emotions involved) but I’m a new investor so I’m learning. I’ve learnt to put my emotions aside so no matter how much I love a company going forward, I will take profits when it shoots up high. Lesson learned but a painful one indeed, as I’m now over 15% down on TSLA.
Never fall in love with a company, the love will never be returned.
