One of my favorite Q live songs, Terry would always doing amazing piano parts in this tune, and this new Q is pretty smoking!

Perrin plays too on top of the beat on all of their swing tunes like this. Ardolino was always a mile behind the beat, resulting in a far groovier groove. Too bad...I have mostly been allowing myself to enjoy this incarnation of the Q, but this overly insistent beat sets my teeth on edge.

Damnit! The only constant is change. And, yeah....it's kinda early drum machinish. Darn it.
Still, lice me some Terry however we can see him.
(saw this iteration a few years ago in nc. a good time was had by all)

@@marielescobar784 last time I saw this outfit I watched other musicians I knew that were in the room, and I was not the only one cringing. Whatta shame...I dig the other two fellas and am with ya on the "however I can see Adams" tip...

Let me be clear that I love both the original lineup and the new Q, but can I just say... They're not the original lineup, and can we just accept that? Don't nit-pick them for every little detail and just enjoy the music?

@@conortappa8361 Dunno if you're referring to me, but I hardly think the groove/feel created by the drummer in a band (any band!) is a "little detail". "...Just enjoy the music.", you suggest...okay, by what set of criteria do you deem music to be enjoyable or not? For me, the bottom line is THE GROOVE. I was told long ago by a wise old musician "There's a fine line between a groove and a grave", and I have seen this demonstrated by so many bands where the drummer is trying to race the rest of the band to the end of the song. That all said (and the post you commented on is now a year old), I saw the Q just a coupla months back and young Perrin must have laid off the coffee and bennies, or spent more time sucking on the bong, and he was far less insistent with the back beat, much to my delight. It was so much more groovy to groove to his groove!
