I see these guys now, and all I can think about is their little portrait pictures at the start of the articles in White Dwarf. Those were great days. 👍
This is some of the most beautiful footage I’ve seen of miniatures on a table. I watched once for the information on a small screen, but I need to see this again on a big screen for the visual inspiration.
This is an excellent project - people at the top of the hobby developing simple rules and putting them out for free, then interacting with players to make them better. Very refreshing - reminds me of the type of thing Little Wars TV are doing. With luck, Napoleonic Wargaming will receive a boost. Thanks for putting out an interesting video.
It’s very much like what Jervis did when he ran the specialist games studio at GW. Which resulted in the fantastic but criminally underplayed Epic Armageddon and it helped refine and polish Blood Bowl into the game it is today.
I’m in the process of learning these rules. One thing I wish to have clarified is when is a +1 modifier refer to an additional d6 and when is it just modifying the die roll? It is not always clear.
Many years ago probably late 70's or very early 80's Jervis came over to my parents house and we got very, very drunk, then had a discussion in French. And that is my Jervis Johnson Story!
Thank you everyone involved with the presentation of this interview which was very interesting. I am very much looking forward to the Franco-Prussian War supplement edition.
Would honestly love to see a nation template so it’s easier to create rule sheets and stats for minor nations without making them too overpowered or underpowered. I made one for Bavaria myself personally for the 1809 and 1813 campaigns but it would be nice to have it where I can easily make a sheet for any nation.
Really nice work, I have been interested in the Franco Prussian war and keep seeing Perrys in my local store. I don't play much but I could use the rules for Valour and Fortitude to make my armys!
The things that Black Powder 2 needs are a centralised update chamber to go find & download . With a summary of special rules , a game time summary of rules ( not the dice roles stuff) if using them while in action and errata update for BP2
I’ve been trying to get into the time period and play a few games themed on the peninsula war. Can ask where the terrain came from.? It looks fantastic!
Actually the outcome might not be the same. Only one Fortitude roll and it would have received the +1 bonus for 5 units as the light infantry unit would still be there.
Didn't you have a unit do skirmish fire and then assault the British light infantry? Also you forgot the disciplined musketry rule for the British in the other melee. Should have had one re roll. Outcome still the same.
3 of my Wargaming heroes! How many of use have grown up playing games Jervis has written with miniatures that were designed by the Perry’s!

@ironbomb6753 Me too man! Wasn't there a photo of Jervis with sun glasses in White Dwarf? Good times for sure!

Thank you for all you guys do....so happy you have made our gaming so much better in all you have done....Thank you John.
This sounds great - would love to see how the rules could be adopted for the early WW1 period.

I hadnt been able to really playtest it due to medical problems but the rules seemed quite improved to be honest

When is this 2nd ed being released and can I download it from somewhere. It's ver 1.5 on the Perry website.
I have the same question. Where can I get v2 from?
The Rules and the Army lists should be up at the Perry site by Oct. 1st.
Thanks all.
Can you shoot through your own units?
So when you make figures offer a Free set of rules for them that are good and fun = people buy more of your figures

can this be played with 28mm on a 6x4 table ok
what about a ACW version ?
2:27 😂

I belive the perry bros where in lord of the rings ^^
Why do they shit on artillery in this and Black Powder?
36+ figure infantry battalions, but only ONE gun model to represent an entire battery??
looking forward to the 19th C lists! 1866/1870..
I guess they won't be using Black Powder anymore? :P
They should make awi miniatures in firing poses
