Good piece of advice, don’t skip the video at any point like I did by accident. Went from seeing the Red 2nd gen to seeing one without a dash and white exterior and I was like….. wait…. What did he do to it?!
I have gotten lucky with getting a farm truck most of the dash structure is in really decent shape considering how many other ones are.., and my truck has a dash skinz dash cap on it but it is only covering a few cracks and one busted spot over the radio section,, and the dash glovebox light switch clip is on a bar the dash structure attached to that tab is broken and the switch just hangs in the glove box so I pulled the bulb... but other than the typical cupholders hinge cheap plastic junk and my ashtray now opens up the cover and then you have to push it back together and finish opening it but ok...
Sweet looking dash!! I know they are pricey but except for the lmc version of the dash structure its a different material id consider this the best option since all the other versions including the dash cap are going to eventually be the same brittle plastic junk, dash skinz claims it is a abs plastic but we will see
I’m glad my 2nd gen dosent have a passenger airbag, could you imagine the shrapnel lmao I ain’t trying to catch a plastic dash in the jugular 🤣🤣🤣 I’m trying to talk myself into buying one of these
@@matthewwilson6955 a little bit of both, dash wasn’t in the best of shape, plastic was brittle and cracking, but the original subframe is still there, that’s what this new dash mounts to
I know that dash took a shitton of time to design and fabricate.. I’m fine with him charging whatever he wants to. The Dodge dash is a turd and every 2nd Gen on the road has a trashed dash. MIne has a tiny crack. I’d be concerned about rattle but I’m sure he addressed that. Maybe foam between the pieces. I support innovation
Absolutely my truck also has a few small cracks and the center dash defrost vent is broken away from the dash but still screwed in place so it is better than most but it also got a dash skinz dash cap..
@@Hunterrnorris I’m thinking of getting one for my 02’, but I’m concerned about it buzzing. You know how sheet metal can be if 2 pieces overlap but are not under tension, they can vibrate a little bit and make a buzzing sound. I think it looks good for no rattles. Someone suggested it could be tig welded together to cut down on noise, any thoughts on that? I hope you post an update soon if you can!

Went from a red, to a green, to back to a red, to a white one haha
Great video. You always have good videos on Dodge truck content.
Thank you Jeff!
Love the video!!! I have a 94 and I’m looking to do the same thing! Does the dash vibrate with the diesel?
@@chadkirby5438 it doesn’t, and doesn’t seem to hold heat from the windshield either
I'm going to get one. I love the way it looks.
That steel dash is a good idea i was thinking 800 bucks 1900 is a bit much but i guess its a one time deal. Wonder if it rattles going down the road
We have many drove the truck since the install, but It seems like a snug fit
Looks like you guys got it under control! 🎉
All day! Putting in work!
Owning a 2nd gen is a full time job haha

looks great , thanks for making video for a real life look at it , need one for my 97 stacking dollars now, lol
I love those second Jens But the third gens not really any more

Did you have to pull the dash or did you just break off the plastic?

I think that Dash would look really good if you were to wrap it in leather

Lrb or lbr speed whichever it is now has a TH-cam channel if that helps you Jonathan and Hunter
That’s good to know! Their customer service was pretty good while we were installing the dash
They look great but 2k ill have to pass
I’m going to do an update video in a couple months, to let everyone know if it rattles, gets hot, etc. Then we will know if it was worth it
