That’s what happened to the previous Spider-Man cartoon. With Madam Web promising to help Spider-Man search the multiverse for Mary Jane. And that doesn’t happen. So I guess Mary Jane is dead.
Kinda ironic and sad how most of the Spidey cartoons (sans Ultimate and the 2017 one I think, although there's some unresolved plots) always ended in a cliffhanger.
If there's anything positive to say, I have to give credit to the animators because out of all the 90's Marvel animated shows, this show had by far the best animation and art style. Also Rino Romano is great as both Spider-Man and Batman which is something no one else can say.
The opening to spiderman unlimited was so sick, watching Peter do a front flip into his new high tech nano suit, blew my mind. When I seen Tony stark do it in IW I immediately thought of this show
This was a really great video! Shame it ended the way it did. I would love to see what your opinions on Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes next or any other Marvel Cartoon you haven't reviewed for that matter. This is truly another JDG great!
Spiderman unlimited is awesome. The art style, the characters, the action ....the action Spider-Man could actually fight! With his HANDS AND FEET!!! Too me that means a lot!!!
I do wish they could make the second season but Larry Brody did tell me it out of his hands all I know is Venom and Carnage were going to merge and the character was going to be called king Carnage
Bro imagine finally getting to work on a cartoon and you find out it’s Spider-Man. A character you’ve loved for many years and had many ideas to put a twist on his classic villains only to be told that nah Lil bro you gotta make every thing up even the suit. I can see why the comic writers went insane with all these mandates 💀
I always thought this show was underrated and fairly competently made. But hearing how many limits were placed on it makes it amazing it ever got off the ground.
This was definitely a unique project and a fun show at times. My favorite episode was probably the one with the defective robot X-51. I thought that was a cool intricate plot. I certainly understand why a lot of people don’t like this show but I definitely believe it had potential and it could’ve become something amazing with a little improvement in the second season. At the very least it is definitely the best of the three shows that Marvel made that only lasted for 13 episodes. I would say Sliver Surfer gets second place. Avengers United they stand is the really messed up one out of the set. Anyways this is still a cartoon which I have fond memories of. Thank you for sharing this review with us.
I enjoyed it as a kid. It had some interesting ideas in my opinion. I just wish we got some closure after that dark cliffhanger. Seriously, why do all Spiderman shows end on a cliffhanger? But yeah, I wish we could have gotten one more episode seeing Spider-Man try to stop the synoptic from destroying the entire planet. I mean, in an otherwise weird show, you end it right when it's getting good?
9:33 David was in Unlimited, I didn’t know that till now, he’s best known for voicing characters from Transformers namely Deathcharge, Shcokwave, and Blitzwing.
I love this series because Rino is my Spider-Man, however I swear there was a 14th episode! I may have imagined it because I can't find it anywhere... but, I swear they finished the story. They beat the symbiote invasion by using a fire bomb and then spidey and John take put the high evolutionary and then the earth folks leave counter earth. Again... I can't confirm anything and may have dreamed it up myself 😅😅
I remember watching the premiere of this at my friend's place. We were so stoked because we loved the last one. Halfway through we were just waiting for beast machines to come 🤣
Loved Unlimited, it doesn’t get enough love. Some feedback: I had very little familiarity with the voice actors you listed, I think that section would have been improved by listing examples of other voices those actors played, either images pasted on their pictures or a short list. Great video otherwise!
Unlimited suit looks better than the 2099 suit, its just my opinion but spidey's eyes should always stay the same iconic giant bug eyes. Miguel's eyes just aren't as express because of how it looks.
Personally for me I would've really loved a Spider-Man 2099 show because in all honestly Spider-Man unlimited the more I think about it fits way more for Spider-Man 2099 Miguel oh hara and his story way more then Peter parker Spider-Man at least in my opinion.
After all these years, I finally realized why this seemed so familiar to me as a kid... In some unexplainable way, this gave me the exact same vibes as when I watched Dragon Ball GT...
are you going to cover the other 90s marvel shows? it would be fun seeing you cover Iron Man TAS and Fantastic Four TAS as their first and second seasons are so different from each other
Peter is the Spiderman photo guy. He broke into the business because he could get Spiderman photos that nobody could. And since JJ was obsessed with Spiderman he was a reliable cash source. The four furries were the ones who shot first. And because Spiderman said who he was. Ram wants to dissect him. And Vernim wants to fuck him. It's also stated in later supplementary material that the Synoptic brainwashed and powered up Venom and Carnage and probably was the one who made the portal. Also the synoptic did appear in the comics in a sense. As Knull the symbiote god.
so Jennifer Hale has now played spider-woman, Mary Jane, Black cat, lady vermin, Rogue, Jean Grey AND madelyne pryor and thats just the marvel cartoons she's done as much for DC, quite a career...
In Classic Marvel canon the inherit only "attributes" of radioactive animals, like there was Fly villain of Thor who was also bitten by radioactive fly or whatever and he also got proportional strenght and could also stick to walls. And in 90s there was black guy scientist who got bitten by radioactive rabbit, got super fast (but slower than Quicksilver fast)
I gave this series a watch last year after seeing Guardians of the Galaxy 3 to see how High Evolutionary was handled in it. It's actually quite a good show and an interesting sequel to the Spider-man animated series. I really liked the comic book art style. Interesting seeing things I'm familiar with from the MCU movies in there too such as Counter Earth and the nano spider suit.
9:18 And all these characters are romantically involved with Peter/Spider-Man, what a coincidence. (Yeah, if I recall correctly Lady Vermin had a thing for Spidey, she flirted with him in some scenes.)
When I saw your last video about Spider-Man?The animated series.I wondered if you would cover this show next. Even though I don't like this show I enjoy the video Retrospect so good job
I like this show, I hope Disney and Marvel plan on bringing back Spider-Man Unlimited and be titled “Spider-Man Unlimited 2001” after X-Men 97 and the other 90’s marvel animated shows: Iron Man 96, Fantastic Four 96, Spider-Man 98, Ultraforce 95, The Incredible Hulk and She-Hulk 97, Silver Surfer 98, and The Avengers: United They Stand 2000 by giving them new seasons for each of them
There was a legal reason another Spider-Man property was required to be made.. i believe it had to do with having the ability to re run the original Animated Series... but like this video said they had many restrictions plus the success of Batman Beyond was something they were trying for... Spiderman 2099 I heard was scrapped as the network did not have faith in fans liking a non Peter Parker Spider-Man .. The show is def not to par BUT is an enjoyable watch.... You just cant hold it to the standards of TAS.
The show definitely has some solid animation and voice acting, but the overall premise is so far removed from spider-man, you could make it about any hero
Good video, bro. By the way, that clunky ol' Iron Man/Thor etc. cartoon I'm pretty sure was made in the 1960s, not '50s. I don't think Iron Man, Thor or Hulk existed in the 50s unless they were germs of imagination in Stan or Jack's brains.
3:57 Wait, how they triggered the Spider Sense?? They're practically invisible to the radar since Venom had bonded with Peter long enough to be registered as friendly and Carnage inherited it as Venom's spawn.
I give it respect just for trying something different. That's a rare commodity these days. Back then we didn't know how good we had it since we had a lot of choices in the 20th century. Today we have a lot of titles to choose from but it's all stale, dull, woke, and trash.
Spider man unlimited. What can I say about this... Well, didn't like it as a kid.Don't like it now. And it's not like I didn't try to give it a chance.I did.. It's just.. naahhh..
Fr huh She screwed it up No sixth season All over some personal nonsense too. From what i've heard. Damn shame. Even still though at least the animated series ended on a good note
I honestly think that Spider-Man Unlimited was a nice Spider-Man series that I wish wasn't abruptly canceled on a cliffhanger.
That’s what happened to the previous Spider-Man cartoon. With Madam Web promising to help Spider-Man search the multiverse for Mary Jane.

It’s a remix of the 90’s theme song
@@Izzy-jp8rmDoesn't change the fact that the theme is a banger
Spider-man Unlimited has a special place in my heart. That place being between where nostalgia ends and trauma bonds begins.
The intro for this show is cool
Agreed.
the first episode of the show was great imo, loved the animation, the classic suit, how MJ was written, Peter’s voice actor, the intro, and all that
Bruh your telling me that Venom in Spider Man Unlimited is voiced by Brian Drummond aka Ocean dub Vegeta... that's fucking awesome
Yeah, I'll agree. The art style Animation is dope
Those old shows were always so interesting to see the concept like TMNT
This series was the GOAT
Perfect continuation to the old series
If nothing else the suit and theme song are absolute bangers
This show had an awesome intro song and the animation was cool. Also, I like how Spider-Man had the ability to turn invisible.
Loved this Animated series
The Anime like transformation sequence was always amazing to watch
I remember watching this show when I was 3 Because my dad pirated it on his computer
You have a cool dad👍🏽
This was a really great video! Shame it ended the way it did. I would love to see what your opinions on Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes next or any other Marvel Cartoon you haven't reviewed for that matter. This is truly another JDG great!
Did you watch this at 2x speed or something? The video is like 20 minutes, you still have like 12 minutes to go
Avengers EMH would be good to see. To me it felt like a spiritual sequel to the 90s animated universe.
3:51 Spectacular Spider-Man carried on with said under-arm webbing. I love how the classic suit design looks in the show, too.
People are gonna think you kidnapped him!
Meanwhile..
Did you hear Spider-man ran away with his new boyfriend?!

This would've been better if counter earth was a parallel of the X-Men and Magneto was a good guy.
One of the things I like about the show was that theme that always wants me to kick up a my old Spider-Man toys to make my own show
14:09 Never thought I would ever see a Ninjago reference on this channel. Nice.

They should continue the Spider-man Unlimited series in the comics. (With that later being adapted in a game and A continuation of the OG Show)
Spider man unlimited is one of my top 5
9:33 David was in Unlimited, I didn’t know that till now, he’s best known for voicing characters from Transformers namely Deathcharge, Shcokwave, and Blitzwing.
14:46-14:48 the funniest thing is that when I was checking this on the watch cartoon online they had a poster the poster was showing spider punk😂

I think you're right. I have seen that 14th episode on TV once. I also used to think that it was just a dream, but it really happened
The irony is two decades later Death Battle would have Spiderman 2099 vs Batman Beyond. Yep.
Not sure you know what irony is...
It’s crazy that this is my favorite one😢
19:48 well when you put it like that. Technically means that after that he survived that symbiote invasion from the final episode of the show.
Brian Drummond also voiced Wolverine in the Astonishing X-Men Series btw.
9:49 Brian Drummond also voiced Dr. Eggman, and some of his variants in Netflix's original series Sonic: Prime.
I swear, we need to get you on the Ben 10 franchise to review those next. Love to hear what your thoughts on it would look like.

Karen looks a lot like Elsa Bloodstone.
Second best because of mature writing

IMO this series needs to come back. It was good change of pace and stakes were higher. Plus the suite was gas.

In the Spider-Man Unlimited prelude comic, they made Hector Jones as the counter earth Wolverine.
9:37 Ron voiced mesmero in X-Men Evolution, and voiced Magneto, Professor X, and Professor Klein in Iron Man Armored Adventures.

About what you said of Rino Romano voicing this Green Goblin, honestly part of me wishes someone could've been given the role instead.
I guess this show is a reflection of spider-mans infamous luck: consistently dealt a bad hand, so many odds against him and a sad outcome in the end.
We got Miguel O'Hara at Home.
I tried watching it last year and couldn't finish it. The only good thing I liked about it was. The suit and theme song
