    As an Indonesian, I am very ashamed of our airport staff You can report the airport officer to the airport's official website . This video is proof enough because airport officials work with taxi drivers to trick you you've been directed to a taxi driver at a crazy pprice.

    What a shameless, irresponsible taxi staff!
    I am sorry that you had to experience this.
    And I am very happy you made it.
    Believe me, I twice had been in the same situation as you becoming the last passenger to board, and the whole passenger in the airplane were like.... "looking at you with bored face of waiting" hahaha..
    To clarify what you experienced in Jakarta Airport, yes the skytrain is fully working, and I think is the most comfortable and easiest option to transfer between terminals in Jakarta CGK Airport. It is just lack of signage and direction in the airport terminal, so many first timers are confused and can easily come to this "taxi trap".
    There are also free shuttle and paid shuttle bus (IDR 5000), but I don't recommend it unless your next flight is at least in the next 1 hour. The shuttle bus route is circling to few places before going to airport terminal. From terminal 1 to terminal 3 it takes up to 20-25 minutes.
    But for those who still want to take these shuttle buses, they need to go to the departure area of the terminal, there will be a signage of Airport Shuttle Bus pretty close to the terminal road. Just wait there, the bus departs every 5 to 10 minutes depends on traffic condition.

    • @ayngelina
      @ayngelina  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh thank you for letting me know about the shuttle. Sky train was every eight minutes and that was a bit worrisome.

    I made the mistake and went to the terminal you landed in (Grab taxi, my mistake!) when travelling to KL. I lounged around for a while until I realized my mistake, then had to rush to get a taxi to go to the correct terminal. It was about 200k. This was 2018 (?) so there was no Skytrain yet. Very stressful experience, but turned out just fine in the end.
    Then when I got to KL I had a flight to BKK. Not a connecting ticket/flight, so I had to go through customs and immigration. Made the flight with just seconds to spare.
    Fond memories and +100 in travel experience gained, but so extremely stressful at the time.

    • @alexanderpedersen1401
      @alexanderpedersen1401 ปีที่แล้ว

      @wraithofwrath Maybe it was not clear enough.
      This was when I travelled FROM Jakarta TO KL. In JKT the terminal buildings are a few kilometers apart and I had to take a taxi, just like in this video around 6:00 .. I had mistakenly taken a taxi to the terminal seen in the video around 6:00 , and I needed to be in terminal 1 just like Ayngelina, and had little time to get there. I rushed to find a taxi and it was 200k IDR to terminal 1. No skytrain because this was 2018. Rip-off price but it was worth it in the end.
      I only saw the airport in KL so no idea about anything there. The only reason I mentioned KL was that after having a stressful situation in Jakarta, I had an even more stressful situation when arriving in KL. But that had nothing to do with trains or taxis.

      Airline at Soekarno-Hatta airport tolerates passenger delays because their's connecting flights times are tight. Usually the plane does not move after boarding time when passengers are inside for about 15-30 minutes to wait for other passengers.
      But this only happens on day or night flights. Don't try it in the morning because all morning flights are direct flights or don't try it at other airports either. You are likely to be left behind.

    A lot of scammers in Indonesia (CGK)… even the officers who is working at the immigration …just be careful. Please make sure you check your passports while you’re at the immigration booth…. To make sure you get your visa & receipt for your visa on arrival before you left the immigration booth. If you’re not aware, you’ll get easily scammed by them. And you can end up paying additional 500,000 IDR to get the visa on arrival.

We paid for (3) visa on arrival, but they didn’t give us one of the visa on arrival (we were 3 of us). And we didn’t check our passports until the next day. When we realized, one of the passport didn’t have visa on arrival. So we had to go back to CGK and they made us going around and around the airport at terminal to find someone who can helped us with this situation. From 10am in the morning until about 2pm in the afternoon….. and they took the passport and promised us that they’ll give the visa on arrival if we pay another 500k IDR for it. And they asked us to come back to terminal3 to meet a guy from the immigration to pick up the passport at 10pm that day…. It was such a hassle. I wished I could have reported to the US embassy regarding this. But I wasn’t prepare for this kind of scam… so we were not prepared. Just be aware, check your passport as always. Terminal 1 and 2 is much much smaller than terminal 3. Walking to boarding gate requires much lesser time.

    and yup you are about to be scammed there. Never go out with someone like those guy. And sky train always works since a lot of connections. With taxi, probably just under 30k rupiah it’s real close but yeah with parking and other charge maybe 50k? I never change connection in Jakarta 😂 but it is real close between terminals.

      Yes depending on the city some places are better for plastic than others. In Jakarta I was always asked if I want a bag. And here in Sumatra I just say no when I see them reaching for one. Also at my favourite coffee shop they know I don't want a pipete and not to put one of those plastic coverings on top my coffee either. With time it will change but I know it's habit.
      As for the $20 I was SHOCKED. He almost had me but when he said 250 I was like no way! It doesn't even cost that much for a taxi to the city! I'm just glad I didn't turn my camera off so I could share that with others.

    Who do u think sent photo of you to the scam driver ??

    • @ayngelina
      @ayngelina  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was the security guy I initially asked where Terminal 1 was because the photo of me was from behind. So I asked him where to go, he tells me I need a taxi and then sends a photo to his buddy. It was the photo that made me feel like something was up but the guy showed it to me almost as giving credibility to his service.

      Right! Maybe if he hadn't had a photo I would have felt a little less set up.

    Airport terminal transport is jobless.
    Almost no one use them.
    They dont deserve to be there.
    The business is a mistake.
    Or maybe they used by hopeless transfer flight passenger who were in a superhurry

      I don’t find domestic flights are bad even Padang to Kuala Lumpur is $30 and depending how far you want to go it’s usually under $50 although some islands are more expensive than others.

      I’m so accustomed to them I actually find it relaxing to listen to….as long as my hotel is not directly next to one.

      It was all instinct. I just felt like something was wrong when I saw the photo of me. And maybe if it had been five or ten dollars but twenty was half the price of my flight.
