You are an amazing individual. I have been watching you for 3 yrs. I have owned many compact tractors and I guess I never realized sitting in the seat how much work you can get done with a compact. Sitting back and watching, it is incredible. I saw your last video with your dad. My dad and I worked side by side for 50yrs, and he taught me so much, what to do, and not to do. I miss him terribly after 1 yr, but he was 92 and I am very fortunate to have had him that long. Keep diggin my friend !
Hey everyone. I have the Deere third function on my 2018. I was told when I bought my tractor that it that it was the second one shipped by Deere. My dealer had to work with the factory pretty close because it was new for the 1025R at that time. I have to say that it is awesome. I use my grapple more that anything else. I say this to say, in my opinion, it’s worth it to bite the bullet and get it when you buy the tractor. It opens all kinds of options for the tractor. It has not impacted my ability to keep the tractor lubed. The flow is shared so on mine I have to work between the functions to do combination functions. Tim; love the channel and thank you guys for putting out the great content. Keep up the good work.
It’s nice that you have this relationship with this Deere dealer the way you do, and for you to be able to trade into this Johnny. Your channel is my favorite for tractors and educational information regarding them you’ve done a good job for us viewers.
So funny. Took delivery of my Johnny inspired Johnny the day before this video was uploaded. Just got the parts in for the 3rd function in yesterday. I am installing them myself. So far I have the tractor torn down, the SCV and wiring installed. Tackling the hydraulic lines tomorrow. Not too bad of a job. I repair semis for a local Mack and Volvo dealer so not too far out of my wheel house. Thank you so much for all the great videos and information. Keep up the great work.
My 1025r was delivered Tuesday. I was familiarizing my self with it and at 3.9 hours it had a catastrophic drive train failure. Its now back at the dealer. Now my confidence in the machine is shaken. Waited 2 years to buy it.
Bizarre situation. However, Deere will make it right. They will replace all parts that were affected. These moments are when you should be confident in your decision to buy a brand with competent service and support personnel. Imagine if you were taking your tractor back to your local Rural King store for this major service! It will be good as new soon!
Yep, my 2016 (GG) 1025r just had either a blown head gasket or worse yesterday. Loaded it up and going to the dealer today. 214hrs! I'm disappointed to say the least. But, I loved it while it lasted.
@@TractorTimewithTim Not sure what "new" means since this is my first Johnny. My air filter is a round tube with an outer round filter that surrounds an inner round filter. I haven't noticed anything looking broken. It's been fine for a year, (I bought it used with 110hrs), then after 100 hrs of my use, suddenly, it started clanking really badly, wouldn't stay on, and there's coolant in the oil!
I am sure the dealership will do the repairs fine. The real damage is in my confidence in the product. Think of it as a first impressions thing. It will take time before I will be able to use it and not wonder if its going to break again. Deere can't fix that.
We have a 2020 bought in Dec delivered in Jan 2021. Your channel was a key resource for information as I looked at Orange tractors too. Cleared our road frontage before Carolina weather went south.
I get a lot of cross eyed looks from people when they see my 1025R. Gets called an over priced lawn mower and several other things. Unless you’ve used one, people don’t understand the versatility. Feel bad for the kitty, hope he heals up. Another great video Tim, thanks! BTW, my 2013 is headed toward 400 hrs, and still going strong.
Bought a new 1025r last November. Traded in my 729. Nice machine. I didn’t get the 3rd function. Loud tractor, you’ll need your hearing protection, lots of vibration, extra rubber on floor mat helps. Fuel gauge needle vibrates a lot. Your dealer should provide a free ballast box if you get the loader, JD is being sued for a roll over accident. I like the roll over deck feature. I bought a 54” deck, which I found out later you can’t get brackets to use the loader to pickup to work on blades, only comes with 60”. I bought a deck dolly to pickup deck and store during the winter. I bought the 60” snow blower, you’ll need weight in the rear to level the machine, less wear and tear. Also added a block heater for starts below zero degrees. I put rim guard in my rear turf tires. To me rim guard gives you a stiffer ride, but I’m not sure, maybe Tim knows. The 1025r is a lot nicer than my Kubota BX 2370.
I’ve used the heck out of my 1025R for my landscape company especially the backhoe making me so much more productive day in and day out. My biggest problem is trying to do too much with it sometimes and treat it like a skid steer when grading etc. it’s got some power but not as much as I try to imagine some days. Lift capacity is and has always been my biggest gripe with it. A full bucket can be a challenge to dump over the side of my dump trailer at times. Interested to see the new features on the loader control on yours Tim. Can’t wait to see your 2019 in action.
Hi Tim, Well, I did it yesterday. I got the 3rd function kit and hoses installed for a little less than a grand(plus tax) and went with the AV20f grapple. They made such a great deal that I am going to contact the dealer today and make sure they didn't make a mistake. The only downside is the grapple will not arrive for a month. But then I'm laid-up for most of that time with a minor health issue. Thanks for all of your help, advice, entertainment, but especially the scriptures. As I watch, I am always trying to guess what you'll pick. At 70, I just retired after 25 years of teaching young engineers/CS majors C++, data structures, discrete math, etc. and I'm looking forward to having time to work around the place.
@@TractorTimewithTim I didn't much care for discrete when I took it either, but for my master's thesis I needed to prove that a recursive computer graphics algorithm was correct. I tried and tried, prayed and prayed, but could not. Then our Lord showed me how to prove it could not be incorrect. Proof-by-contradiction. After that, discrete was my friend :)
Don’t know your background or what you did for a living before TH-cam but your videos are some of the best I’ve seen you are informative and entertaining and I enjoy every one, the narration is awesome and the editing is very good thank you for all the hard work
Tim, I real enjoy your videos! I grew up on a farm and had the first year of the compact Johnny with loader, great tractor and I miss it like crazy! I enjoy even more your love for our Lord! Hope your year and years to come are very blessed!
I just purchased one and took delivery on June 22. From my understanding, from the dealer in Idaho Falls, I purchased the last one in the state and surrounding areas. I reside in Alpine, WY and have had the pleasure of using the past two weekends cleaning up around my property. I love it! I bought this 2019 1025R based on your recommendations and the size for my needs. I bought the 60" mow deck, loader and bucket and a box blade with it. I do have a few questions that I would love to ask you if you have time outside of your TH-cam channel? I appreciate your honesty and informative video channel. It's refreshing to find someone with fine qualities like that. Keep up the good work.
I’ve had my (KK) 1025R TLB and 60D deck for a month now and it’s got about 22hrs on it. I couldn’t be happier. Thanks you for making these videos. You do a great job and it helped me make the decision to pick one up this year.
Started watching your channel about a year ago and because of your channel I purchased a 2019 1025r tlb with a DJ brush hog and pallet forks I absolutely love it does not have the third function or led lights also bought the backhoe dolly from bxpanded and it is a must have makes backhoe removal easy and a one man job thank you for doing what you do I been doing all kinds of jobs around the property based off your videos
@@TractorTimewithTim delivered in december with .4 hours now has 34 hours and only cut the grass twice so far. It is also a kk but doesnt have the adjustment on the rops so must have made a mid year change or something
Tim, I have the 3rd function on my 2018 1025R (model JJ). I installed it myself, definitely a lot of work but doable by a mechanical inclined owner. I paid just about $950 for the 3rd function valve and the hose kit that goes down the loader boom, the 3rd function is actually less than the Artillian kit, I think about $700 but I wanted the hose kit to make a clean install. I used the Artillian manifold on the loader, made some short jumper hydraulic hoses because I have 2 cramps for my grapple and Deere's kit only gives one set of couplers. And as for your theory on the bucket level indicator, the first step in installing the 3rd function loader hoses is to move it to the left side, Im still trying to get used to looking to the left side instead of the right. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and see if you have a different experience with the 3rd function, I cannot use the 3rd function and curl/dump at the same time, but lifting/lowering and 3rd function works fine.
I noticed that lever handle knob mounting hardware rusted! It would have been nice to see how your other 1025R would have held up over time. But good for you, it's nice to have a new(er) tractor! Best Regards, Jay
I went with a diverter for my BX. I like that I can feather the cylinder, so if I'm carrying something delicate or something I don't want marred up, I can gently grab it.
Tractor Time with Tim The paper said 2020, I did not get to see the tractor because of low stock. The salesman was going to get it from a different yard. I will have to look and see what the paper says now.
You will love it , I had one but moved up to 2038R witch is also a awesome tractor thinking down the road to get another 1025r just for mowing , I truly do miss my 1025R
I checked out the VIN code on my 1025r and 9-11 goes CGH. I don't know what C stands for but I was told by the salesman when I ordered the tractor in July 2016 that the tractor was built in 2015 yet was a 2016 model, similar to automobiles. Thanks for the video!
Those screws on the rops are "anti rattle bolt" if you don't plan on folding or unfolding your rops they are great. Otherwise an extra step when doing so. I also have them on my draw bar. Dealer should have explained that when you received the tractor but an easy oversight. Excited as always to see you put that machine to work.
just ordered a 1023e a week ago, I cannot wait!,, You are right on lead times for items. The dealer is having a hard time keeping 60d mower decks in stock.
I ordered some nice LED headlight bulbs for my GC-1720. They are no longer yellow and they nicely match the LED lights I mounted on the rops for better coverage for working in the dark. I will look through my Amazon order history and see if I can find them. They might be the same as the JD ones.
Same thing happened with my cat. He liked to wait at the end of the driveway and then walk in from of my truck as I pulled up the driveway. Well, one time I caught up to him, not on purpose. Pinched his leg a little with the tire, and pulled fur out. He recovered just fine, but now he gets out of the way. He's a good cat.
Can't wait to see what you think of 3rd function. Thanks for the hard work you do for us with these videos. They are very helpful to tractor newbie like me.
I purchased a 1025R last month. Picking it up next week. 3rd Function, Grapple, Forks, Backhoe, Winch (5 Acres of wooded and field area with seasonal bog and a ton of downed trees) and debating on a Box Blade for some grading. I wish I caught your channel before putting my order together... would have made some changes....had no idea about the 2020 CY vs Model Year.
💥 Another new Johnny with a true third function. I’m a fan of the diverter kit my BX has but I’m looking into installing a rear remote for a snow removal idea I have. 👍 *Keep on tractoring!*
Thank you again for the amazing video and expert experience talking all things JD. Im on a .75 acre and know this 1025R can help me out with all planned items. I have 100 scrub pines small under 30ft to put a bucket on to cut so they fall right. Also putting in brick patio deck a 400 ft drive. Fencing. A gazebo pad a cabana pad ect.... So I can see on the work vids you do this tractor will be worth it $$. Question on the backhoe section . Can the back hoe digger be removed so as to install a post hole auger. Have you used that tool attached in any projects video. I have at least 60 holes to auger. Thanks again.
Hey Tim, Say just wanted to mention to you I just watched this video again. I see the extra 3rd function hydraulic kit on the loader you were telling me about. My JD dealer didn't tell me about this extra and so it looks like I need to get that kit. TY again for the help.
For the grease fitting issue. Maybe you can get a fitting that has a better angle than the one that is there or talk with the dealer about the problem.
More newbie questions...Do you have to worry much about flat tires on tractors? Do you add slime sealant to the tires? How often do you check the tire pressure? What happens if you do get a flat? Can any tire shop fix the flat? How difficult is it to remove the tire? Thanks for always taking time to answer questions. Your videos are very helpful.
Good questions. I should do a video on this. I don’t check them unless they look low. I have had issues getting thorns in the front tires. I have used tireject to resolve...successfully. Yes, tire shops can fix. If you tell em it is a lawn mower, they will often fix for free!
When i first started running my 2014 1025R it would chew up the grass when mowing on turns. I filled both rear R-4s with Rimguard and added a 72 pound weight to each side and no issues since. Great in winter to do not need to do anything to them other than chains
Here in California, I paid $ 966.90 (plus tax) for the third function kit and hose kit installed on my (still to be delivered) new 1025R. This seemed reasonable compared to the other options plus shipping and installation. Of course the downside is the loss of education that would have come with installing it myself. Love the verses and always look forward to see what you'll pick.
Can't wait for your opinion on the 3rd function, diverter vs true 3rd function. And it seems the hydro flow will be key on this one. Thank you for sharing
We took delivery of a 1025R a few weeks ago. Has serial #1LV1025RTLK ######. Not "1025RV" like you have. So, built in 2020, but a 2019 model, and a different letter after the R.
Don't judge Mary, maybe she and Martha have a hierarchy worked out and Mary is the boss. :P Nice tractor! Loving my 19 with 3rd function and rear remotes.
I have been looking at the 1025R and was wondering if you had any advice on new vs a few years old? updates, options etc. You probably have a video I have not seen yet. Thanks, I really enjoy your videos.
Congratulations on the new tractor. Hopefully your cat is ok. Mine take off when my tractor starts up. They have never even got close to it when it's not running. Great video and explanation thanks brother.
Tim, I purchased a new 2018 JD 3025E. Just got a nail through my large rear tire. I was looking through your videos and couldn’t find anything about changing tires on compact tractors (1,2,3,4 series). I think this would make a good episode and helpful to some of us that are new to compact tractors. Anyway just a suggestion. Thanks and keep up the great videos! 👍🏻
@@TractorTimewithTim You should get the tools! There's always room for more tools lol. I just assumed with all the work you do with big and little "Johnny's", you guys must have had a flat tire or two? If not, wow, that's lucky! I don't come from a farming background, and we just bought an acreage (13.5 acres) last year, so even how and where to jack up a compact tractor was new to me. Also the fact you should block up the tractor right away so that the large tires don't deflate and then get a crease in them (which will possibly ruin it). I don't plan to fix the tire my self, or change the tire on the rim, I'm just taking my tire w/rim off and taking it to a local tire shop that was recommended by my JD dealer.
So....just got a half acre after moving from a small residential block and got my first Johnny (the baby e100) and I'm already talking to my wife about getting 5 acres and a 1025r :)
Me too (no #). My dealer seemed to recommend against it as I understood him and I'm not sure why. I'll be going back as they only had 1025R's in stock and I want to compare one to a 2032/8 which they have coming in. I'm going to ask him about why he seemed to recommend against the factory 3rd function unless I misunderstood him but I'm glad I got to see this video first. Maybe it was the cost and he didn't want to run the price up so much that I wouldn't want to buy one.
Hey Tim, another great video. I just ordered a 2019 1023E and the real supply issue for me was finding the 54 inch deck. They have plenty of 60 inch decks, but I wanted the 54 inch for my mowing situation. My dealer had to reach out to 30 dealers before he found one that would part with a 54 inch deck. I also added the Deere LP65048 MCS. This is very similar to one you were using in a previous video to vacuum up leaves, Looking forward to getting it all next week!
@@TractorTimewithTim Never knew it existed until your video and by that time I had already ordered the Deere unit. I do like how the TKV has the blower moved away from the deck, but that is how Deere power flow units work. BTW, how does the TKV blower get power?
@@TractorTimewithTim Yup, I found that out on their website and also found out my Deere dealer could offer it. I tried to change to the PTO blower, but the unit has already shipped.
Thankya Mr. Tim for sharing this video. Congratulations on your new new "Johnny". I wish that all these models came with the 3rd function kit. My 1025R was built it 2016 & i bought it in August of 2017 with 1/2 hour on it & it now has 605 hrs on it, & no "3rd function diverter kit" has ever been installed. Even though i wish mine had this 3rd funcion option on it, i dunno if i could afford to have J.D. here in my area to put that diverter kit on. Now i am jealous of ya, but in a good way, because yours new one came with the 3rd function direct from the factory. Like i said, J.D. should have already done with with all there lil Johnnys that they've came out with in recent years. i guess a guy like me, cant have everything, & should be pleased with what he has, compaired to what he didnt have in the beginning, right??? But, i have been very blessed from the Good Lord above with my "Johnny" & it truely has been a Godsend for sure. Take cafe & thankya again for shairing this video. God bless!
@@TractorTimewithTim Awesome! And thankya for the reply. I do have a couple 2-3 questions for ya, if thats alright. . . . . . 1.) Did you install the "Artillian" diverter kit yourself on your 1st Johnny, or did your local J.D. dealer do it for ya??? 2.) If you did install the kit yourself, how hard was it to plum into the existing hydraulic system & connection setup with worrying about letting any air buildup in the hydraulic lines, if any? That would be my worry! 3.) Did you ever have any problems at all with the kit, or were you completely satisfied overall with its capability & its functionality??? 4.) When you sold your 1st Johnny, did you have to give up the operator's manual that came with it? Thankya for letting pick your brain, lol lol lol😀😎🚜
Had JD install the factory 3rd function on my 2018 2025R when they first came out with them. My joy stick looks taller than yours, and no ya can't use curl/dump at the same time. However it works very nice with the AV20F grapple. Doesn't interfere with that fun grease zert either, but I've never had a problem using the needle attachment. That canopy looks silly IMO... nice vid TTWT r
I agree with what you said all the things you can do with a sub compact tractor. I just could not go green just yet but my BX has been doing a great job for me. It has saved me time and mostly my back, just never knew how much I would use it till I got it. Maybe some day I'll go green but not today.
Hi Tim. What do you know about the 2022 1025r? Any issues like over heating which I’ve noticed people having issues with that. Also. Does JD still have 0% for 60 months as well as the five year warranty? Where could I get a package deal for a 1025r with loader/bucket and mowing deck? Thank you so much. I’ve been a long time subscriber.
Tractor Time with Tim , so far I love the tractor missing having a loader but hopefully soon but biggest advantage I see is medium range and the r 14 tires , so far I really like them
I did, However listen to one of your videos and went to the dealership to watch them install the 3rd Function. I had them basically explain to me what I needed to do to get to that grease fitting. It’s a pain either way. They said I should get almost a needle point fitting to get to it.
I'll be interested to see how you plumb the Artillian grapple. I had the dealer install the 3rd function kit on my KK 2025R before I took delivery. Only thing I have tried with the third function kit is loader mounted blade with angling.
I was hoping they would change the ROPS to a smaller 1 piece ROPS and move the work lights that are next to the seat and mount them on the ROPS. I find them useless when I'm using the forks and moving a load around just before dark. I see they moved the toolbox to the side. Have a Great Day, GOD BLESS
Tim......(no politics)....not trying to put you in that situation. At the same time, I HATE these New mandates......I am looking at this machine (1025R).....I Do Not want B.S. to keep my diesel running Reliably. Awesome channel, keep it up.
Somebody may have already asked this before, but has Deere gotten rid of the inline fuel filter in either of the 2 re-designs? My 2012 1023E has one. It took the parts guys by surprise when I asked for one the first time back then.
Looks good, I’ve got 44 hours on my 1025r do you have a video on the 50hr maintenance? Also when you get the rim-guard for your rear tires will you explain how to install it. I asked my dealer about it. the guy never even heard of it can’t find anybody that offers the rim guard in Oklahoma thanks.
Hi Tim! I bought a 2019 1025r and am currently installing my factory 3rd function kit and front hose/line kit. This video is how I found out it was an option. The kit was "only" $726 and 240.90 for the hose kit. Not so bad. Also consider the JD kit is not a diverter, rather an actual 3rd function. I also ordered the Frontier Grapple and can't wait to use it. Thanks for showing me how versatile this tractor is especially with the grapple. P.S. So sorry about your Dad. I loved "getting to know him" through you. Peace
Took delivery on barns new 2019 2025r last year. Owners manual does not make any mention of 50hr.service. Have looked manual over many times and first service is not required until 200hrs. My dealer sold out to AGPRO in the meantime and have been pretty good about handling recalls and electrical issues I have had and even provided free pick up and return . Talked to the service manager about first service and he also stated no service needed until 200 hrs. Your thoughts on this?
Thanks for clearing the confusion on the model year. Can’t to go look at mine now. I don’t know whether I’m going to be disappointed or not...LOL. In any case I’ve put about 4 hours on my new 1025R and love it. Hope the cat heals up ok. Love to hear more thoughts on the LEDs at night. I just ordered a 12” LED and bracket for the ROPS up top from Tractor Bracket. Will see how that goes. Thanks again Tim!
So, I walked out to the barn and double checked again compared to my paperwork. My units VIN is 1LV1025ALK805060. You had mentioned that all 1025Rs start with 1LV1025V. Any idea why the A vs. the V you spoke about. By the LK, I’m guessing December of 2019 build. Thanks again for all of the content. I’ll be adjusting my deck today. It want even close to spec. I’m guessing they only install them for transport and not operations. The dealers sure seem to miss this a lot. Mine said bring it back but I’d rather learn it myself.
Congrats on the new tractor! As far as the LED lights go... I have found that it’s definitely a different kind of light. It’s bright, and makes you very visible, however, sometimes I start mowing very early in the morning when it’s still dark. With halogen lights on our old tractor, I’m able to see the stripes in the lawn and the beam seems to go further. The LED is really bright, but it’s a shorter range, and I can’t see the stripes in the lawn. It may just be the type of LED. I don’t know. Also, I wasn’t a fan of the big ugly sticker on the last Johnny lol. The new one looks much better!! Good luck, and great episode!
Never liked the stickers either. Your experience on lights is based on the 'color temperature' of the light. When it gets above 5k, it gets hard to see. Not really LED vs. halogen...just the different color.
Very nice Tim I have a 2019 model also 1Lv1025rtkk just wish I had the third function did not know they had that as a option thanks for sharing that with everyone you are the best keep up the good work
I moved my level indicator on my 1025 after dealer put on the Artillian 3rd function valve. Was seeing the rod end hitting the hoses and I didn't like it. Thought about just taking it off and looked at left side. Hmm, same holes, I can just flip it around. A lot less on that side to get in the way.
Close call with Martha.. Live and learn. Looking forward to the 2038r comparison. My dealer told me no 3rd function available currently with the 2038r. Not sure if it ever was or just right now. Thoughts?
You are an amazing individual. I have been watching you for 3 yrs. I have owned many compact tractors and I guess I never realized sitting in the seat how much work you can get done with a compact. Sitting back and watching, it is incredible.
I saw your last video with your dad. My dad and I worked side by side for 50yrs, and he taught me so much, what to do, and not to do. I miss him terribly after 1 yr, but he was 92 and I am very fortunate to have had him that long. Keep diggin my friend !

I enjoyed c++ and data structures classes. Didn’t care much for the discrete math :-)
Don’t know your background or what you did for a living before TH-cam but your videos are some of the best I’ve seen you are informative and entertaining and I enjoy every one, the narration is awesome and the editing is very good thank you for all the hard work
Wow, thank you! Here is some history. tractortimewithtim.com/category/cast-members/
Congratulations!
Congratulations!
@@TractorTimewithTim delivered in december with .4 hours now has 34 hours and only cut the grass twice so far. It is also a kk but doesnt have the adjustment on the rops so must have made a mid year change or something
I've had my 1025r for about 2 years! you and your videos helped me make the decision of getting it
Good to see more tractor loaders factory fitted with third function kits.
Yes sub compact tractors with a loader are amazing machines.
Tim, I wouldn't be in a hurry to change your headlights. The yellowish color is better for seeing in bad weather like when it's snowing.
Balast is a definite must ! Mowing on any steep slopes, and loader work. Never noticed a disadvantage to filled tires
We had the first one for 4 years 400 hours.
I went with a diverter for my BX. I like that I can feather the cylinder, so if I'm carrying something delicate or something I don't want marred up, I can gently grab it.
I just signed for one Wednesday, just waiting for delivery.
Congratulations!
Tractor Time with Tim The paper said 2020, I did not get to see the tractor because of low stock. The salesman was going to get it from a different yard. I will have to look and see what the paper says now.
You won’t regret it.
You will love it , I had one but moved up to 2038R witch is also a awesome tractor thinking down the road to get another 1025r just for mowing , I truly do miss my 1025R
It will be the best thing u ever bought...hands down !!
Nice video Tim. Thank for taking your time to explain the new Jonny looking forward to see more videos from you.. be safe out there on Jonny..
Frank the Tank I have them on my GC-1720 as well. I should start using them. Although I pretty much always wear my isotunes when driving.
Nice! I just bought a 2019 1025r TLB last month to replace my 1997 425 garden tractor. Loving it so far. 18 hours on it so far!
Enjoy the new tractor Tim .
just ordered a 1023e a week ago, I cannot wait!,, You are right on lead times for items.
That’s a good idea! I’ll have to do that on my GC1723
As usual Tim, another great episode! Mary doesn't seem to be pulling its weight like Martha. Glad to see Martha is healing.
Mary is lazy.
*Keep on tractoring!*
Could you use extension hoses from front to back? I have a kit available now:

It is funny how the cats like the attention during the videos. I hope they are both back to normal soon.
I think we are seeing "Normal" hehe
Thank you I have been to Sun South in Foley AL and am sold on this 1025R with the bucket backhoe and a 4ft box scrape box unit
You’ll love the 1025r!
Thanks for the video, always like seeing the new stuff. Now I have led and 3rd function envy.
Hay Tim. As soon as you talked about the Vin # I checked ours. It is a 2019. Not as nice as yours. But still a good Tool. God Bless.
Hey Tim,
Say just wanted to mention to you I just watched this video again.
I see the extra 3rd function hydraulic kit on the loader you were telling me about. My JD dealer didn't tell me about this extra and so it looks like I need to get that kit.
TY again for the help.
Martha’s “cat like reflexes” hopefully will have returned before your next video!
Your cat is trying to protect you she thinks the mike is a mouse. LOL. Good kitty.
When i first started running my 2014 1025R it would chew up the grass when mowing on turns. I filled both rear R-4s with Rimguard and added a 72 pound weight to each side and no issues since. Great in winter to do not need to do anything to them other than chains
Interesting. Makes sense. However, no one talks about how extra weight COULD actually SAVE your yard!
Nice tractor! Loving my 19 with 3rd function and rear remotes.
Great video Tim, love your cats :-) hope she gets better!
I like the looks of those LED lights
i just got a 1023e with the back hoe and loader upgraded tires and a couple other things 22 k later and im still waiting cant wait
2020 model year
Whew. Seems high!
Congrats on the new Jonny Tim
I ordered my backhoe 6 weeks ago. It is finally going to be installed next week.
I have been looking at the 1025R and was wondering if you had any advice on new vs a few years old? updates, options etc. You probably have a video I have not seen yet. Thanks, I really enjoy your videos.
love watching your videos, the 1025R is one of my favorite john deere tractors.
Congratulations on the new tractor. Hopefully your cat is ok. Mine take off when my tractor starts up. They have never even got close to it when it's not running. Great video and explanation thanks brother.
Tim great update good luck with the new machine
God Bless
PaK
Tim, I purchased a new 2018 JD 3025E. Just got a nail through my large rear tire. I was looking through your videos and couldn’t find anything about changing tires on compact tractors (1,2,3,4 series). I think this would make a good episode and helpful to some of us that are new to compact tractors. Anyway just a suggestion. Thanks and keep up the great videos! 👍🏻
I’m not a tire changing expert. Don’t have the tools. Maybe i should look into getting the tools!
Great explaining the years of tractors. Thanks . Jdmich
I put RV in my new 1025r rear tires 11 gal in each tire nice Tim
I like the cat going stealth at 3:30
Great reviewTim, Deere should sponsor you 100%.
We have a very positive relationship with Deere.
So....just got a half acre after moving from a small residential block and got my first Johnny (the baby e100) and I'm already talking to my wife about getting 5 acres and a 1025r :)
I’ve been hoping you would get the Deere 3rd function. My local dealer has one on the lot. Definitely interested in seeing it work.
I wish you had purchased the TKV20. You would much prefer it to the power flow unit. Oh well!
@@TractorTimewithTim Never knew it existed until your video and by that time I had already ordered the Deere unit. I do like how the TKV has the blower moved away from the deck, but that is how Deere power flow units work. BTW, how does the TKV blower get power?
Rear PTO.
God bless!
You are the perfect candidate for the Artillian diverter kit. It is DIY. $700 or so I think.
It works great to run a grapple!
That canopy looks silly IMO... nice vid TTWT

I agree with what you said all the things you can do with a sub compact tractor. I just could not go green just yet but my BX has been doing a great job for me. It has saved me time and mostly my back, just never knew how much I would use it till I got it. Maybe some day I'll go green but not today.
They are all work savers! Glad you are enjoying your BX!
Hi a spray bottle with water in it to hit them the water will keep them out of the way only use it when the tractor is running
Sold my bx 2370 and went to a new Kubota b2650, waiting on ssqa and bucket due to covid 19, congrats to your new tractor !
Nice upgrade. You will like it much better! I'd love to try a 2650 for awhile.
Tractor Time with Tim , so far I love the tractor missing having a loader but hopefully soon but biggest advantage I see is medium range and the r 14 tires , so far I really like them
I agree that the loader lever looks short, I suspect it will get uncomfortable if one is doing a lot of continuous loader work.
About the headlights. You can get aftermarket LED bulbs
Tim......(no politics)....not trying to put you in that situation. At the same time, I HATE these New mandates......I am looking at this machine (1025R).....I Do Not want B.S. to keep my diesel running Reliably. Awesome channel, keep it up.
Yea. So far the DPF hasn't caused me any issue. 3 regens so far on my 2038r. No big deal.
Somebody may have already asked this before, but has Deere gotten rid of the inline fuel filter in either of the 2 re-designs? My 2012 1023E has one. It took the parts guys by surprise when I asked for one the first time back then.
Congratulations Tim!
Had NO problem getting new 2038R, loving it, a bit harder on fuel though
Yep. Supply is running out now.
Yes. We have 50 hr maintenance videos. Look for “Johnny’s essential oils” playlist.
Ok thanks I sure appreciate it
Peace
I discuss the ‘3rd function vs. diverter’ in actual usage in a later episode ‘100 yr old levee’
Steve Hammond did you successfully get it installed? My dealer would not do it so Im considering this project.
Thx you soo much for these videos :) I cant wait to get my firewood and tractor service comp going.
They removed the 50 hr service from the manual in 2018.
I just picked up my 1025R yesterday, I thought it was a 2020. The dealer said mower decks are at least a month wait.
Look at serial number and get back to us.
Crazy looking ROPS "rollover protection system". I prefer the look of the old style better.
Thanks Tim wonderful info. Great scripture. So critically needed! God Bless!
Tough time right now for America, and for Christians here. However, it will be all right!
@@TractorTimewithTim Amen!!
Look at the paperwork. Serial number is on it.
LK means built in calendar year 2020. Model year 2019
Mine should be here next week! Thanks for helping with the decision
Congratulations!!
I just bought one and my serial is 1LV1025RKKK... dealer told me it was a 2020. I will be looking this up.
Good to know. Thank you!
Hi Tim I had bought a NEW 2018 1025R . My PIN after 1025r Is TJJ. Is this because Tractor is TLB Thanks
Very nice Tim I have a 2019 model also 1Lv1025rtkk just wish I had the third function did not know they had that as a option thanks for sharing that with everyone you are the best keep up the good work
Really enjoy your videos, thanks for your scripture at the end! Keep them coming....
Thoughts?
I use the Artillian diverter on the 2038r. Works great!
