Tim, my 1025r is a 2020 model. Perfectly happy with it. However, some things I wish I had. On the 3 pt hitch, a way to tilt the box blade hydraulically. Ive seen your video with the aftermarket kit and it looked like it could use a lot of improvement. Not smooth at all. It's to bad no one manufactureers a reverse gearbox for the post hole digger. That would be huge.

Because adding A/C is a big engineering feat, you're adding and trying to fit the following in a tiny package:
      Compressor pump on the engine
Evaporator core in front of the radiator & hydro cooler
      Condenser core in the cab
      Dryer under the hood
      Valves under the hood
And then routing all of the lines and wires for it through the engine bay, floorboard, and cab.
Not to mention when you engage it you now have even less power going to your PTOs, with only a 25hp engine with 22hp out the PTO you lose 10%-15% of that engaging the A/C so if you want A/C while brush cutting you'll be disappointed with the mere 20hp of a NEW tractor powering the mower that goes down even more over time.

Thanks Tim pointing out the new upgrades on the 1025R hours for 2025 year models my 2013 1025 R works good the upgrades do not pull me in to upgrade to a newer tractor.when stop in at the dealer to pick up odds and ends I check out the Newer tractors like mine and they didn't upgrade them over the years when I asked the salesman he said he didn't know why but they had a good thing that's probably why they never changed much thanks again for your heads up keep up the good work

I would like to go back to a tractor if it rode well enough to complete my mowing. One machine is easier to store and maintain as well the mowing experience is better on a tractor.

I have a 2019 2025R TLB and just paid it off. The changes they came out with are not that drastic for me to run out and trade mine in. They will be nice for a new consumer shopping for a new tractor.
Now if you had said they made a factory cab with AC/heat and compatible with the backhoe. Then I would consider it. Also, a turbo on the 2025R would have been nice also. Help differentiate the 25hp engine from the others.

On the LED displays, I am the new owner of a used 2005 Sea Ray Sundancer boat with LED gauges on the dash. These gauges were discontinued long ago, and the communication technology to the motor and other items such as the fuel level gauge or trim equipment has changed. I found a service with a stellar reputation that will rebuild my existing gauges.
My guess is a volume of demand will create a LED dash repair solution.

Tim, I just bought new 2024 model. Dealer installed the 60 inch mower deck. When I engaged PTO, the driveshaft was not installed correctly and came loose beating under tractor immediately and broke off transmission oil filter as well as cast aluminum nipple. Just bought a 2024 2025R model. I don't see a reason to worry about my purchase being overly hasty with these new features being introduced next year... I have enjoyed a few of the perks that came with the newer machine in general over my previous 2014 tractor, so it will be interesting to see how they continue to change things in the future!
Are you guys thinking about showcasing a 2025R on the channel soon? I think it kinda gets overlooked in the Deere lineup do to being compared as a pointless upgrade to a 1025R. My opinion, but It seems to be "more" then a slight upgrade to the 1025R while being as good at handling the same tight spaces. But what do I know? Anyhow I certainly have found there to be more Pros then cons to my recent upgrade. The cost I guess would be the biggest con over the 1025R, and that certainly is a big one.

The beefier frame and larger size make it a better candidate for the hydros plus upgrades over a 1025R, says me.

Just last week got my first JD, a 2021MY 2025R. Been dying to have a 2032R/2038R because they're just fabulous with way more features than the smaller guys but priced REALLY high in comparison. Fun fact; team Orange has 2 really affordable compacts and team Green has their smaller 3 series & 1 series priced to better compete with them which further solidifies select size JDs as better/worse deals than the rest of their line.....
Anywho the 1025R on paper achieves everything I need on a mechanical+performance level but I needed slightly better ground clearance and being 6'2" I bang my knees and elbows on EVERYTHING in the ops station of the 1 series. Found a used 2025R for just $2k more than a used 1025R outfitted the same way, took it and ran! I definitely made the right choice, fits all my needs and with it sharing so much with the 1025R I have a LOT of affordable accessory options both from JD or aftermaket should I feel the need to upgrade over time - like the hydraulics are slightly better than the 1025R but I think the Hydroplus stage 2/3 pump is still going to be a near purchase, and soon add 3rd function for grapple, etc. All those improvements on the 203_Rs are big bucks on an already expensive unit 😳

Hi Tim, I've been watching all you informative videos on the 1025r. I am seriously considering one, but want to get one with both the loader and backhoe already installed. From what I gather, adding the backhoe later if not originally equipped requires power beyond installed, so my thought was why not search the used market (and some year old new) for one that has both. Would you consider doing a similar used tractor search with historic pricing, but for those with backhoe? I would appreciate what other features should be considered as well. Thanks in advance.

If you are patient, buying used 1025R with backhoe is definitely the least expensive way to buy it. backhoes depreciate faster than tractor or loader.

When we were looking to buy a new tractor, we went to John Deere first. We had moved from central Illinois and after a few years in Florida we moved to more property. I was looking at the 3 series with the loader because in my thoughts is you can always take it off but if you don't have it, buying it could cause an issue. After asking a few questions the salesman walked away. Okay he doesn't care if we buy a tractor. On to Kubota, not sure what was going on there but we ended up walking away. So we would be out driving and we came across LS tractor and, Okay never ever heard of them. We stopped and talked to the dealer, his name is Matt Miller and we became good friends. He also ran a landscape business and also hauled rock. Bought an LS and it came with many options that others don't offer. I've had this tractor for 10 years and only ever had a small issue which we fixed. Only thing now is I wished I would have bought one a little bigger with more horsepower.

Pretty sure the air ride seat is not compatible with the backhoe. It's bigger than the standard seat, as a result there isn't room for the backhoe seat.

    • @wadeturner2665
      @wadeturner2665 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@TractorTimewithTim I'm not sure the air ride seat folds forward. If it does fold forward, the frame or seat itself is so large that the backhoe seat will not fold down flat like it is supposed to. I haven't actually seen it in person, I have just seen the ordering system which will not allow you to equip a TLB with the air ride seat.
On a related note, is there any progress on getting 6 port single point connector for tractors that have the factory hard lines to the single point location? It seems that Deere is really missing an opportunity here, with the 2025 relocated 3rd function value, to have 3rd function hard lines run to the same point as the existing 4 hard lines and use a 6 port SP connector.

I can’t say I’ve ever even considered going out to buy a new model tractor simply due to updates, with the exception of the recent LX Kubotas that fixed the hydrostatic “whine.” I considered it, but only very briefly. Hard to justify trading in on a tractor, which typically lasts a lifetime.

Its always good to improve the machine for the better and also lots of competition to help get these improvements.
Ive been down my own rabbit hole since i bought a new john deere Z760r this past April. The factory blades (UC14208) for that mower are not that great. But to the point, I've researched blades (TCU15881) for a z950m that are, in fact, hi-lift more robust blades and fit my z760r. Which are also a listed option for the 1025r mowers.
Also upgraded the MCS bags to those from the z9 (AM135816) series as well.Went from 6.5 bushel to about 10 bushel.
I know your channel is about the tractors, but I just felt compelled to tell you. Maybe this is useful info to someone.
