I didn't know that this had existed. Thankfully the radar feature unlocked in the Blueberry Academy League Club can help with finding wild Pokemon with marks before catching them. Also completing the Blueberry Pokedex rewards you with a mark charm improving the odds of marks even further.
I just tested that if you caught a Pokemon with a Destiny Mark, you can reload your game and look for another Pokemon of your choice, and that Pokemon will have the same Destiny Mark. I tried it because I want a special Hoppip, but I got it on Espeon first (as I was testing).
Wow! If you make videos/tutorials, I’d love to see this in action and know more details. Is there a trick/a way you should save the game? I don’t think this is a known method, so you talking about this could help people get Destiny Mark shinies easier if true!
Does the Destiny Mark override other marks? For example, if you find a Pokemon that should have a mark, but you catch it on your birthday, does the Destiny Mark replace it?
I did catch Pokémon with other marks on my “birthday,” so I don’t think the Destiny Mark overrides. However, I did get a lot of Destiny Marks, so the Destiny Mark may have a boosted likelihood!
I don't think it's possible but I thought I'd ask, is it possible for a traded pokemon to get to get the destiny mark? As I wish I could get that park on my shiny latias but I doubt it's possible
Could you save infront of a shiny, catch it, inspect it and restart if it isn't marked? Or are the marks generated during the initial spawn, not after catching?
This is a good question! Unfortunately, you can’t restart in front of a shiny to get new marks. Marks are indeed part of the values generated during the initial spawn and stay permanent. I’ve hunted marks on single-encounter Pokémon a lot in Sword and Shield, so I luckily have the exact right experience to answer. 😂
I do not think so, I personally didn’t see a double-up in my brief research. The Destiny Mark seems to just add itself to the pool of regular marks on the day (with high odds). I would have to catch a lot more though to feel certain, unless someone has datamined about this.
That would be great! A good thing to test in the future. I will say I was very disappointed when BDSP’s new contest ribbon did not show up in Sw/Sh when the last update came out, but maybe this time will be different because the Destiny Mark is already programmed in.
I'm so going to hunt for a shiny Raichu with the destiny mark on my birthday in September. Area Zero will become my home. >:D I won't even mind if I get a Pawmi, but Raichu is the one I want on that day.
No, you can’t, generally. I said “most marks” because there are technically a few new marks that are theoretically possible to get after you get a Pokémon, regardless of origin. Any Pokémon can acquire the Reliable Partner Mark, the Gourmand Mark, possibly the Jumbo and Mini Marks (though it would be difficult odds), etc.
Nice! My birthday was yesterday and i tried to get a shiny brambleghast with the destiny mark. I caught 3 of them but none of them got the mark TvT Also caught 2 shiny soodowoodos (which also had none) I will just reset my time to yeserday and hope i can get brambleghast with the mark
@@BretheStruggleBug i know right! Like i wish i could hunt a shiny that way but then we also have to worry for hacked Pokemon and stuff which makes it unfortunate.
You can, I talk about it in the video. But, like with yearly Animal Crossing events, some people aren’t comfortable with playing that way, so I think it’s worth the warning.
