25:30 emphatically agree. I heard this great quote recently, I wish I knew where it came from, some tv show probably: "there is beauty in imperfections."
What Could Have Been is definitely my favourite too. With a close second being "I can't hear it now" that plays during Cassandra's funeral. I don't think the show has a single bad song in it, but those two especially really get to me. I think it's because the emotional tone of both hit the same for me, and the funeral scene immediately follows the end of S1.
It is so wonderful watching an artist' process of creativity, whatever the genre. Seeing how enamoured they are with their craft, how passionate to get things to transform from minds eye to physical representation. It humbles me every time.
Thinking of this song as the suffering people of Zaun calling out in this soft, lamenting voice to the people at the top of the castle in Piltover adds another haunting layer to it in my mind. Together, we could have been so great, but you abandoned us. You broke us, and all that's left are these jagged pieces. We were angels, and you clipped our wings and made us fall, and now look what we've had to become just to survive The season starts with Powder and "Dear Friend Across the River," a song of Zaun asking Piltover to share a scrap of kindness, and it ends with Jinx and this song, a song of Zaun saying they're done asking and instead will be the one sharing a fraction of their suffering with Piltover
Great video, back then as soon as I heard " I want you to hurt...." I was like that's Sting Goodbye is my number 1 song on Spotify every single year since season 1 came out From season 2 it has to wasteland
@ClaudieTV also as Jinx lover, I was very excited in your reaction on S2 episode 9 intro a lot of people don't give it the attention it deserves cause they probably think she won't die
Oh that is really cool that you're diving into the music making process of Arcane's songs... I hadn't seen that video ! Don't know how I missed it, this song is probably my favorite too ❤. As an amateur music composer (like you I think?) I love hearing about the details of such processes. Great reaction, thank you Also, listening to the piano and voice original stems make me want to learn to play it like that. Simple yet so effective !
I think that if a piece of art touches the creator, then it will definitely touch others. I've certainly cried over fanfic I've written and had comments from strangers who said it made them cry too 😅
Both Alex's are classically trained and imo more classical composers than pop songwriters. Amazing how they include these pop songs to the score / soundtrack and write them to the visuals and story.
Alex (Mako) also wrote some of the Worlds anthems for the game's tournament in the end of season. I mention this because he actually performed Rise (animated by Fortiche), as far as I'm aware you can find three versions : the animated clip, the first live version during the opening ceremony, 2018 and they performed it again for the 2023 opening ceremony. Since I'm on that topic, adding to what is said in the Bridging the Rift documentary, Imagine Dragons are players and did Enemy, also they performed the first version of Warriors, 2014 ... tho I prefer the Edda Hayes version from 2020. Chrissy Costanza, singer from Against The Current is also a gamer / streamer (when not on tour), she collabored with Riot as well, performing Legends Never Die, Phoenix (in duo with Cailin Russo) and hosting various events such as the Arcane Premiere. Overall, it's like going down a rabbit hole to take a deep dive into Riot's music ... I'd say it's worth it ;)
We don't see much perfectionism in contemporary cinema anywhere else nowadays do we? When I rewatched S1 after S2 came out I felt "What could have been" unfortunately also applies to the storytelling in S2. S1 didn't show the chracter driven vs. plot driven divide we so often see in stories, it really shined on both fronts. S2 just pulls harder at your heartstrings to make you overlook a number of glaring plot problems.
It's like mourning. I think they might use synth and layer up the vocal.(Not a pro, but just try to scrape my words at it?😂) Singing is such a talent, man, Sting is just telling the story by his voice. My favorite part is the section where all instruments were separated. Just see how many textures they add onto it. And human-like is the sort of thing that I can't get from some of the pop songs😂😂 And yes, instruments breathe. Playing the keyboard and piano is just a totally different feeling. When the hammer hits the string of piano, just something you can't compare. As always, thanks for your reaction!! (Finally no need to stop the flow of music, hope that copyright issue can be solved😢😢) Pps. So, do we get the chance to listen to the s1 score? (not the soundtrack you've reacted to)
Yeah, could be a synth! Thank you for watching, hope you liked it :) I'll definitely think about it, got a lot of other things on the list right now, but sure yeah I'm open to it for sure!

Yes I can't hear it now, is actually so wonderful, I react to that in tomorrows vid! It's amazing actually!
@@ClaudieTV Can't wait!
Add one more Ramsey - "Goodbye" (end of 1x3)

"Hi Alex".
So cute how you speak to the people as if they can hear you.
They can... don't ruin the illusion 🤣
@ClaudieTV Well, we can. Does that count??
😂@@ClaudieTV
I like Alex's vocals almost as much as Sting's.
Yeah me too actually!
Sting is one of my fav artists of all time, I cried and screamed when I heard him in that increíble scene!

Enjoying these videos so much. Thank you.
Me too, she's already 1500 subs btw 🎉🎉
You are more than welcome, I'm really enjoying making them!
You should react to the Sting live performance at The Game Awards 2021, also Royal e The Serpent, D4vd and Twenty One Pilots at The Game Awards 2024
I'll do a community post at some point to ask for videos to watch, for sure!
@ClaudieTV I hope you see, the live version of the Twenty One Pilots it's a little better than the studio version
Great video, back then as soon as I heard " I want you to hurt...." I was like that's Sting

Yeah for me, season 2, I love I can't hear it now, the funeral song, didn't realise how beautiful it was until recording tomorrow's vid!

Yeah it is so interesting isn't it! Yeah watching this really made me want to get back to doing some music too!

I will for sure bare that in mind, thank you!
Noticing some light obsession with anything Arcane related..
And the response from Claudie (and me and soo many others): "Witness me!!!" 😂🙃😉
🤣
Really enjoyed, I haven't seen Mako's video on this song before!
Also I love Cait and Vi shows up on screen. Claudie: 👀
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! And yes... you should see how I react to seeing young Ambessa in tomorrow's vid lol
@@ClaudieTV Oh I can't wait! :D
Awesome! Very passionate 👏
Thank you 🙌
Careful Claudie, the post arcane rabbit hole goes deep you might end up playing League Of Legends LOL
Now that would be down a rabbit hole haha!
