Respect for Ed Norton. He is a humble and gracious man and artist. He always lifts others up...from Selma Hayek in Frida to Timmy Chalomet in Complete Unknown. Appreciate his passion re: Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan as well. Thanks for segment Stephen Colbert.
That was mesmerising. See how the director keeps the camera held on Ed and Stephen just sits back and absorbs what's going on. You may have to wait a few years before you see a better late night interview than that.
Ed Norton is like Paul Rudd in the sense that they both look the same now as they did 30 years ago. Also, Death to Smoochy is one of my favorite movies ever, seriously, if you haven't seen it, watch it.
I am one of "Pete's kids". He came to my elementary school twice, teaching us all the great old folk songs -and the newer ones, like Woody's "This Land is Your Land" and many others, as well as Dylan's "The Times They are a-Changin'". All of this helped me become who I am, today.
Wow Ed, I hear your analysis and it’s right on. I once had the privilege of singing Christmas carols on a bench in Pete’s little shack down on the Hudson River. Pete split some wood and fired up the wood stove and then sat down right next to me on a bench as we, ten of us, sat in a circle in his little shack on the river and sang Christmas carols. I looked over at his banjo skin and he had painted on it “This Machine Surrounds All Hate And Surrenders It To Love”!!! Merry Christmas !!!
Jimmy Fallon is a clown at a children's birthday party. Colbert is a curious communicator, a genuine intellect that can analyze without alienating. A wonder.
I loved Norton's awe and sincerity at the cultural, artistic, amd humanistic moments that were made then. And I also immediately felt the sadness of the relaization that the dehumanizing nature of capitalism had already been winning out and with the unchecked advancement of exploitetive technology has continued the extinguishing of genuine humanity. Our final scene has already been written. It's only a matter of how long we can hold out.

I would never break that rule ... the rule of which the number is one _but_ I can write about it, yes Tyler told me I could. So, here goes: I absolutely adore Ed Norton & I relished every second of this interview. There, I wrote it! I may now take my leave with the knowledge that I did not, in fact, break the rule of which the number is one 😊
I agree. Real imagination has been lost and given away with voices being so distorted and changed with so many levels of production and using machines to supposedly make things better. There’s too much pasteurisation of music and film, so there authenticity gets lost. True artists can perform and sing without all that, but we cannot often find it these days. except by looking to the past. Humans want connection. That’s why books and vinyl records have come back, because the truth is still there and gives us a chance to refuse what we’re force fed, and choose what we take in order to use our imagination once again.

Love Edward Norton's films but he's wrong about what Mr. Tamborine Man is about. It's about the opposite. It's about someone crying out, let me forget about today until tomorrow.
Well, you could be more wrong, but I'm not sure how. AI is a thing. It is not now, nor ever will be, human. So it cannot create like a human. There is zero feeling with AI. It's all bastardization of what humans have already done.
Can Norton shut-up. Where is the interview? Note: It has been shown that Dylan was only interested in the music not the concepts of his songs. Have you seen his house in LA.?
So not only is TH-cam unsubscribing people from channels that they subscribed to but now they're automatically subscribing people to channels they don't want to watch. Steven wasn't funny on the daily show and he still sucks.
Well... Mr. Norton certainly made that interview easy for Mr. Colbert. That was a damn good discussion.
Fantastic!

Agree!
... If I were pontificating like that teaching my college students, the students would check out. but late night casts an aura I guess.
Ed Norton is not only a talented actor but also a very able communicator. Looking forward to seeing the movie.
What a great interview. The best movie promo ever. The genuineness and sincerity.
Edward is such a talented and beautiful man! ❤🙌🤩
I love Edward Nortons acting and the fact he's so natural , nothing fake or showy about him
And he's so deep and intelligent
Ed is fantastic actor so glad he has finally got on Colbert show

Amazing. Cherish it.
He's a phenomenal actor and human being.

You seem angry at Jimmy. 😂
One of my favorite actors right here. Looks like a great film.
Everyone loves Timothy chamalamaly
Not noted was American History X, one if Ed's best films. 👍
Yes! OMG, such a great movie and part.
American History X is still one of the best movies of all time to me.
Needs to be seen….once.

Ed Norton: fight club, then to this movie. This guy has mad talent and so modest, a thinking artist. Love him.💯❤
Looks great for 55!
Yes he does
this must be brad pitt s first time on the late show
?
I don't get it
A ref to the fight club
Beautiful.
Cate Blanchet did a wonderful job as Dylan as well.
Interesting because when i was little mr. Tambourine man was my favorite.
Ed Norton hasn't aged
He really hasn’t he’s aged beautifully 😊
Ed is still my Hulk. Bana was good but makes a better angry Romulan. Ruffalo looks good as the hulk. Truth be told... Lou is the OG
Dude looks like he never ages. 😮
He never ages ❤ 😊
“Get immersed in the film. Go see it before you do what we’re doing right now…” 😂
the silenceeeeeeeeee
Edward Norton is stoned off his ass. Weed helps you open up and we see the man behind the characters he's played! Great segment!
Everyone already does love live music

Sordum kimdir bu güzellik insan olamaz
Öldüm sanki cennet böyle güzel olamaz...
Just once I want him to come out in a white tee shirt, vest and mangled pork pie hat….you know Ed Norton.
Thank you so much and Bizim şarkıcılara da bin kere helal-i hoş olsun. 🔆👑
Primal Fear Leaves of Grass 2:08
America needs a young pete seger and dylan these days
The first rule of Ed Norton appearing on LSSC is that you DO NOT talk about Ed Norton appearing on LSSC.
I would never break that rule ... the rule of which the number is one _but_ I can write about it, yes Tyler told me I could. In 1962 Bob Dylan asked me for a dollor. I said, l´ll loan you dollar".. He said "No".
Pete Seeger needs to be part 1, the prequel. Before there was Dylan theres was Pete amd Woody. Ends with him meeting Dylan passing the torch.
Agree.
This is part 1

More Likes For Stephen Colbert 👍
I watch this on a very strange time in my life
We definitely need a fight club sequel
Someone's going to take that challenge and get AI to write Bob Dylan songs... And it won't take 1 thousand years.
Aşktan oğlum, bir hoş sağım solum
Sevdim malûm, ki en güzel huyum

Geesh Ed, get a room.
I loved Pete Seeger. He sang the original Kars4Kids jingle in 1999: th-cam.com/video/ybJ6fS7ruuo/w-d-xo.html

What does this mean?
I'll watch it when its free🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠
He means when it comes to netflix 🎉
tambourine man is about a cocaine dealer
Stephen no Brooklyn Motherless…..Corbert was or is too old now! 1:38
PUT YOUR MOUTH ON THE CURB!
I’ll never recover from that
I wish Ed hadn't done his eyes...I don't know, somehow takes away from his usual 100% genuineness...
Love Mr tambourine man. Especially the Byrds version
Day 2435 of asking the LSSC to number the episodes they upload on YT
And yet, we'll never get the Sha-na-na biopic we all crave.
Tyler Durden was A.I. generated!
Love Edward Norton's films but he's wrong about what Mr. Tamborine Man is about. It's about the opposite. It's about someone crying out, let me forget about today until tomorrow.
AI will write the finest music and stories beyond belief. When AI meets Quantum computing it will be like the discovery of fire.

Dude, what the hell is he talking about?
Something that you will never be able to comprehend, obviously.
