Quick update already since I uploaded this- my hair started feeling a little drier than normal so I am taking a break from the once a week rice water for now! Do what works best for you! I think that’s kind of the theme here- if once a week clarifying is too much, you can absolutely do it less frequently, etc. Also, if you wash your hair more than once a week, you can definitely use oils and olaplex on diff days! I am just limited with application with only washing once.

      Why specifically the rice water?

Rice water is not good for your hair. You should definitely do more research on it. Just a warning.

I remember watching a video recently where you mentioned the Amika the kure shampoo and conditioner set. Would you recommend that paired in rotation with olaplex set 034567, or would pureology Strength cure work better my hair is fine but alot of it long and UNPROCESSED.

somebody blew my mind when they told me to just mix the Olaplex 3 with water in a spray bottle and apply it to your hair that way to saturate your more hair evenly and not waste product. Love your videos I’ve implemented SO MUCH of what you do to keep your hair healthy in the past few months and my hair thanks you for it!!

Have you ever tried shampooing with head tipped over... cleanses scalp without roughing up hair. Also towel blot hair before applying conditioner, so full strength is going into hair and not watered down. Game changer for health and shine of hair.🙋🏼‍♀️

    • @stingthekitty
      @stingthekitty 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@shailyrohini3802 So I pretty much used her tips but adapted more heavy-moisture masks in my routine. I do the pre-shower olaplex #3 for at least 1 hour (sometimes I do wet my hair with rice water) , then I do a double cleanse 1.with Kerastase chronologiste [Has hyaluronic acid in it Im not sure if it's a gimmick but it seems to be helping my hair since I started] the I use Pureology strength cure shampoo. The conditioner I use is hydrate from Pureology . Then I follow with the hydrate hair mask that I mix with the chronologiste hair mask at the ends of my hair with a scalp mask from time to time with the little brush she used (to exfoliate, mostly) ! When I get out of the shower I use amika detangling spray+ the Pureology spray + olaplex #6 and add oil after I blowdry(chronologiste oil)
That was a mouth full haha! My routine Is not much different from hers, I guess the main difference is that I focus more on using hydration products instead of strength products for my hair!

I started the rice water. I take my showers at night so I wake up and coat my longer strands with a hair oil and put it up for the day; come home from work and put on the rice water and also seal it in with a hair mask. Wait for the 30 minutes and wash first the “Carol’s daughter” shampoo ( love it as a fist wash) then I use a purple shampoo. Finally finish off with another “lighter” hair mask for graying hair. I “dry” my hair with an old tshirt; no towels at all. Anyways, thanks for your advice and wisdom that you share so generously.

Hi Abbey it is a lot and some fairly expensive products, though that's fine as we all have different budgets. I have very dry/long/curly/highlighted hair and do wash once a week too. My routine is as follows:
A pre poo of either oil or deep conditioner - currently the Phillip Kingley elasticizer (one litre size lasts me a year bought from QVCUK) or a blended oil.
Rinse then shampoo - I use sulphate free silicone free shampoo with a clarifying shampoo once a month
Deep conditioner - I use a 5 min deep conditioner as conditioner, with a half hour deep conditioner when I clarify
    leave in conditioner
    curl cream
gel and air dry including the use of a microfibre towel or tee shirt. My products are mostly silicone free, apart from the water soluble amodimethicone in the PK elasticizer. This silicone is washed out during the shampooing step.
I haven't tried the olaplex yet due to cost, but plan to at some stage. I use a lot of shea moisture, maui etc, but with a fragrance free shampoo due to eczema on the scalp from Boots expert haircare line. i also use a scalp care product from Boots or Eucerin for my dry scalp. Best wishes.

I feel like oil builds a layer and doesn’t give other products the chance to reach the hair. I especially would like the Olaplex to fully penetrate into the deepest hair molecule of my hair. Hope someone can help me out! Many thanks

does a hair mask actually sink into your hair after using olaplex? i would think that the coating of olaplex would create a barrier for any other product on top. and also, the olaplex website recommends to get any excess buildup of oil/product off of your hair before so it can penetrate your hair and fully work, so applying oils first without rinsing them out may be affecting your results!

@@AbbeyYung thanks for the reply:)!! i just got olaplex no 3 and didn’t know if it was ok to do it after oils or not since some of the info is confusing online. i usually like to use coconut oil but it’s so unclear whether or not that affects the results! i’m glad you found a routine that works for you, that’s all that matters!!!

If I have curly hair and I use a variety of hair products (mousse, gel, leave in, etc.) Would applying the oils before I shower even work at all? Like wouldn't all the product buildup block in some way the oils?

I just found your channel and you provide such great hair care information! I’ve watched several of your videos and they’re all so good. I have a question, what do you use to protect your hair from getting wet on the days you don’t wash? A shower cap? Is there something specific you recommend?

Hi!! Love you videos, just to check so you can put olaplex on and then a mask on top?😯 do you still find the olaplex works just as well? Do you not wet your hair before doing this the night before as it’s wet with the rice water? Sorry hope that makes sense xx

What are your favorite hair brushes? And does each brush serve its own purpose?
I’m finding my paddle brush makes my hair staticky and I’m worried it’s also causing breakage 😶

I have very dry hair and just recently had a bleach nightmare when a hairdresser decided it'd be a good idea to leave me with bleach on my hair to go give someone else a haircut! Anyways I've been watching your videos and taking your suggestions & purchased the Ordinary oils (Marula & Argan) but I've not heard you mention the Squalane oil before today. Is that one OK for dry hair?

Hello! LOVE these videos, but am a little confused. So, I've prepared a spray bottle with rice water... I also have Olpalex 0, 3 and 8. Do I drench my hair from root to end with the rice water, then apply Olaplex 0 straight after, then followed by the other 2 with their 10-30 minute intervals? Then proceed with a normal wash + mask? When is it best to apply mask #8? Thanks so much!! xx

So when do you use purple shampoo? I have to use it because I have blonde in my hair. And you didn’t mention it in this video unless you just don’t use it but I would think that you do since your hair is blonde

Hi, any tips for re-styling between washes? I have extensions and workout every day but only wash every 4 days ish. My own hair is curly and coloured, so naturally dry. After a workout I need to blow dry my hair to get rid of the sweat and to smooth/style so it looks ok.
I normally spray some heat protector before blow drying to re-style. What else could I use to add moisture but not make it greasy or heavy. Need to add moisture between washes and protect from hairdryer heat. Thanks x
