Thank you for your honest review! We really appreciate you! No. 8 is designed to be used in place of No. 5 on days where you need more moisture! As all of our products, it's highly concentrated, and a little goes a long way. You can apply to clean, damp hair, using 2-3 pumps, and distributing with a wet brush or wide tooth comb!
I find my head is itchy after the number 8 and the only way to fix this has been to use conditioner after this. I haven’t had this problem with the 0,1,2,3,4,5 just the 8
You are correct and I do only apply from neck down. It’s possible even just in the washing process it’s getting on my scalp but nevertheless this is the experience I have and I haven’t said anything bad about the brand as I said earlier I use all the other products.
I have a question, my hair is super fine (salt and burnt caramel in color with most of the salt color on the very top of my hair.), I live in Ohio where in the winter the weather can get in the double digits below zero, and in the summer a lot of humidity. I am very interested in your products, my question is which one would maybe work best for which season? Also, I heard your product can help with hair growth and help turn super fine hair a little thicker. Is this true? Also, I am losing my eyebrows and was wondering if your product might be able to help grow my eyebrows back if I use just a very tiny bit?
In reference to NO 8, the bottle states to use sparingly on your roots. Your roots are at the top of your head, however in your video you pointed to your ends when talking about your roots. Maybe that was the mixup
Your roots are in the scalp, then the shaft, and then the ends. So damage happens to the ends, the roots a new growth so it makes sense to use sparingly on the roots and use more on the ends.
I lost over half my hair, falling out in clumps and breaking. When from tons of healthy long hair to barely any strands. It was stress (My husband, my mother & my best friend died in 18 months). Have 7 grieving kids, I was/am a mess, couldn't eat the first year. My hair took a toll I didn't even know possible. With supplements, medications, etc it is coming back but condition is weak. I've started 0 & 3. Second bottle of 3, first of 0. 0 is about gone after 2 uses. I'm definitely losing far less as I gain thickness & length.
Wow. I am so sorry for everything that you went through. Just know that God has a plan and he will take care of you and your heart. I send blessings your way! stay strong my love.
I have a pretty similar story/ situation and my hair that use to be one of my favorite things is now one of my insecurities and this last week i decided to go pick up some olaplex hoping It starts to help soon! I hope you are doing better!!
As a person who doesn't spend a lot of money on her hair, today I bought #3 & #6 and I'm so happy that you're confirming that they are amazing products! I can't wait to try. I got highlights in my hair a few weeks ago and it looks so dry, I'm desperate. Hope it works🤞
@@maryline0113 Hi! I'm also not one to spend so much money on my hair so I'm currently debating if I should buy #3. I have problems with breakage at the ends of my hair so would you recommend me getting it?
My experience was completely different. The deep conditioner made a huge difference to my hair and with no 3 is a must buy. I didn't like the shampoo at all, found it very drying and the ordinary conditioner is OK but not moisturising enough for my bleached hair. I only agree with your review of no 3. It is the core restorative product however its not a conditioner and u need to use a conditioner.
I just used 3,4, and 5 for the first time a few days ago and I couldn't get over how light weight it felt!! Like you were saying with #3, my hair ALWAYS feels heavy after a mask and similar products but this one really did make my hair feel like I had just walked out of the salon. I even said that to my husband! Will definitely continue to purchase those 3. The price tag scared me for so long but now having tried them, I'm sold!
I adore #3, my must have. I have fine hair, but a lot of it and I get foils every 3 months. My hair is sooo soft now and manageable. I shampoo, towel dry, and apply it in sections. Leave it on whilst I watch a movie, then shampoo and condition. Use #3 every time I wash my hair.
I look forward to trying the conditioner and No. 6. The No. 3 process was too time consuming for me. Showering twice during a drought isn't what I want to do.
You don’t have to shower twice. You can spray hair with water to dampen, or even dunk it quickly under sink tap and blot with towel. Slap on the No. 3, and find something to do for 10 minutes or whatever, and then shower. I clean my bathroom while waiting. Nothing time consuming or water wasting about it.
I use the No. 3 overnight.. I wash 3x a week (my hair is baby fine and long ) and I purposely use it once a week on a day of the week I’m not going to style the next day. Just air-dry. Next day it gives me a “wet hair” scrunched look that I don’t mind and it saves me the “wait 10mins” which I literally can’t be bothered with. It washes out in 2-ish days and I’ve never had a problem with that method.
I used 0 + 2. I'll use 3 if I can't get 2. I agree about the 0. Yes no 2 + 3 are the true gems. I leave no 2 on overnight, wash it out the next day. I guess it's supposedly only active until your hair is dry however my hair when put up does stay wet until the following day. I also have 6, have not tried it yet. I'll buy 5 after hearing this because I love thick conditioner. If you have not tried cocoa + eve hair mask.. highly recommend! Also keratherapy.. amazing. Right now I am using the Moroccan gold series treatment mask and that is amazing also.
My hair is damaged and splitting mid shaft. I just used Olaplex and my hair has split even further. I only used a tiny bit, as it's so thick. At first it felt soft and looked shiny. Then about an hour later it was static and very dry. It has changed the colour of my hair. I find it too harsh.
Jessie Taylor i love it. I would recommend. My hair is less frizzy and puffy when dry. Its way softer now too. And i love how it doesnt fade my color and it brightens it too. Before when i didnt put it, my hair looked kinda dull. I use Biolage Color Last S&C which can be a factor as well and i use Moroccan Oil Light after everything :)
Hack for No 0: Shampoo your hair first, rinse, towel dry your hair and then apply the No 0. I could use my bottle 6x this way since it spreads easier on towel dry hair.
I agree with you about Olaplex 8. I have loved 3,4,5, and 7, but was disappointed in the mask. I tried it twice because I thought I missed something the first time.Nope. I have 6 too but even though I have lots of long hair, fine, but felt 6 was too heavy. The others I like a lot.
It’s amazing - I started Olaplex just recently after having my hair lightened, and I feel the same way you do about every one of these products! Thanks for the affirmations😁
I just bought the whole line lol 😂. I was thinking about returning some of them after this review but I’ll probably just keep and test it out myself and just not repurchase if I don’t like. Thanks for the review. 😁
I saw a video prior to this that actually recommended the opposite from this vid. I think it all depends on your hair. I hope that you found your own favorites.
Not all products will work for everyone. Its definitely best to try them all and see what suits your hair needs as noone else has the same exact hair as you
Really great video. I don't use the hair oil, as a "hair oil". It is a heat protectant. So I only use it when I heat style. I use other oils to solve the problems u were mentioning. Thanks for saving me time and money on not buying the #0. I have been on the fence about buying it.
I used the no. 7 and it felt amazing but when I washed my hair it looked burned. I am scared to use it again but haven’t thrown it out. I wonder if it was really to blame.
Hi Lauren I haven't tried the olaplex line yet and the reason is the price for the amount of product. I have waist length, curly, course textured, thick highlighted hair and use a LOT of product to tame it. I don't bother with normal conditioner (as it isn't enough moisture for me) and use a mask every wash, as my hair needs as much moisture as possible. I then use leave in conditioner, curl cream, gel and oil post wash, with top ups of curl cream and/or oil daily. Can you imagine how quickly I would go through those small bottles and how much it would cost to keep buying? I try to use decent haircare without buying high end - using jessiecurl (no added fragrance) shampoo/leave in conditioner/mask and giovanni or boucleme styling products. The other issue I have is scalp eczema and highly fragranced shampoos/conditioners really irritate my scalp. I might try the No3, with the knowledge it will be an occasional treat (perhaps post highlights) and the No 6 for some maintenance in between. Most of the reviews I have seen are for shorter/finer hair and they will always need less of an amount of the product to see results. You do have long, thick, colour treated hair and it gives me a far better indication of how long the products will last for me. Best wishes.
You mentioned applying the No 8 sparingly on the roots, but then said that your ENDS were dry…your roots are at your scalp. 😊 I have thin, fine, long curly hair and use all of the Olaplex products. I really like all of them but I don’t have to use any where near the amount that you do. Mine last me forever. I use a pea sized amount of shampoo and maybe double that amount of conditioner. The No 0 I’ve used 3 times and have over half of the bottle left. The No 7 is perfect for my hair, just the right weight, and I normally mix it in with the No 6.
I was using number 3, so on Christmas I bought a package, that contains, 3,4,5,6. My hair was sooo dry, don’t know what happens. My hair is very thin and frágil. I tried couple more times, same results. So now, I only use 3, and shampoo. The only ones that works for me.
I've just started using the No. 0 and No. 3 and I didn't find that I needed to use much of the No. 0 at all, I used it on the part of my hair that I usually condition when I wash my hair, worked it in well until it was just damp. I have lot's of hair that's quite long after the pandemic and I only used maybe a tenth of the bottle, I'd expect to get at least 2 months out of it since I wash my hair once a week and I am currently using a small sample bottle, I'm probably going to get half a year out of the big bottle.
If I didn't have a very very short buzzcut, I'd never spring for Olaplex. The 0, 3, 4. 5 all last me forever, with so little hair. Of course if I would just stop bleaching my hair, I wouldn't need any of it to begin with! I've also tried the Schwarzkopf BlondMe bonding mask and potion, but the Olaplex works better for me.
Oh.. with nr. 8 you are referring to the ends when you touch your hair while saying "roots". The roots are the closest to your scalp nd have the lest hair damage. Since the product is concentrated you don't need that much.
Hi, i have 11 yr old daughter with beautiful hair Can you please make a video for children's hair...what products to use as her hair is drying and tangling too much ..I don't know what kind of products are safe but good for 5hat age
Really helpful comparisons. Thank you! I love the 4 pack of Olaplex at the Sephora November sale and it’s the 4 I use from the pack. I use kerastase oil and really happy with that over my previous favourite the Moroccan Oil. So I won’t bother with the olaplex oil then.
My hair is similar to yours and I love the mask. Use only 3-4 pumps rub on your hands and then to your hair… a little goes a long way! Huge difference when used with no. 3. I think the only product I’m not a huge fan of is 0.. just go through it way too quick and find no 3 on its own makes a huge difference in my hair
You said The bottle says use sparingly on the roots and then you grab your ends and complain how confusing it was being thats where you need the most moisturizer. roots are the part of the hair that’s growing out of your scalp. 😂
Hey I have some damage to my hair go to Ulta an buy you the redken so soft brown bottle of conditioner it does great on the ends just as good as olaplex
For me # No. 0, did not work at all. When I used it with the No. 3, the 3 wasn't as effective, as when I used 3 alone..., waste of $. I liked the conditioner a lot more than the shampoo but neither are not worth the $ for me. The Nov 6- 7, leave in creme and oil, also did not do much for my hair. The No. 8, worked amazing. My hair feels the softest it has felt in as long as I can remember. My hair is to my shoulders so it lasted 5 uses, which to me is reasonable considering how well it worked. It seems everyone's hair takes these products different. :-)
I have and use the 3, 4, 5. The 3 is supposed to be put on damp hair. I wet it in the sink, towel dry so it’s not dripping, then use #3 and leave in for 10-30 minutes. Then rinse it out in shower followed by #4 shampoo, then #5 conditioner.
I have really ruined hair and just tried the number 3 and DO NOT LIKE IT at all, my hair was like just showing the ruined part, looking like a puff poodle tail 😢
I got confused by your comment about the #8. You mentioned that it says use sparingly at the roots, but you said you need it the most on your ends. Is it possible you only used a lil on your dry ends? It's worked well for me so far. ☺️
Can I use no. 3 on dry hair? Have you tried it on dry hair? I dont remember you mentioning about that or if i missed it. Thank you for the informative video💕
I watched another video óf someone whose channel is called "Heidi"- and she said that she keeps Spraying her Hair with a water Spray Bottle since no 3 stops being Active when your Hair Dries. She kept it in her Hair for 20 minutes, then washed it off with Olaplex 4.
Thanks so much for this! I'm a total newbie and this is helping. Not sure if you'll see this, but a quick question. I was actually at a salon today and they gave me their Olaplex treatment, which oddly enough was #4 and then #8... no #3, at all. Additionally, they sold me on #6 instead of #5, saying it would more or less do the same thing but I could leave it in... as opposed to #5. Just wondering about your thoughts on that? I'm sorry - I'm really new to all this...I'm 36 and up until 2 months ago I was washing my hair and shampooing every single day. lol. My hair is kinda a mess.
Hi. Just a question from a past video. Does drmtlgy sunscreen have that typical sunscreen smell?? I last year I ended up buying the purito sunscreen which was great but I know the spf is lower that stated but at least it doesn’t have that traditional smell of a sunscreen
Thx for review I was wondering what’s the best if I choose only one but no one reviewed olaplex in my country But now I got this video and I made my mind Thank you~~~
would you be able to do an actual try on the NO.06 with a hair straightner? all I see on utube is blonde only reviews :( do u even use straightner after NO.06?
I use the number 6 and I use it before straightening. I apply the number 6 to damp freshly washed and deep conditioned hair. When I blow dry, it gives me smooth results and cuts down my blow drying time. Then it gives me a shiny silky finish when I straighten my hair. I also have dense curly hair.
@@cassiecandle5950 I do! I put my hair into four sections and distribute evenly into each section. My hair is about 60-70% dry and then I go in with the blow dryer. I get really smooth results and it cuts down blow drying time.
i dont think youre using the products correctly.. they shouldn’t run out that fast no matter how thick your hair is. it takes time to see perfect results you cant just lather up the entire bottle on your hair
Owe yeah new sub right here I just bought 3 skincare products from Marshals an it was 109 an we talking about Marshalls hunty they supposed to be cheaper than the retail price help me girl
I'm confused. At the end you said you recommend the number 6 over number 3. You were holding the number 7. I think you meant to say you recommend 6 over the 7, right?
I have bleached my hair in the past although that was about 4 years ago so I have virgin hair now. But I just feel like it’s so dull and lifeless, it’s not even that damaged (but I do have split ends), but its not shiny like it used to, it’s dry, dull etc. I really just need one Olaplex product to help with that but I’m not sure which one to get. I was thinking No.7... ? But I’m not sure. I’m not fond of oils.
Thnx Lauren💕.. Hv been contemplating on buying olaplex range since long bt wasn't sure if it was worth the money 🤓.. My hair r extremely color treated hence the damage is too mch.. They dnt have any silkiness or elasticity.. Do u think olaplex shampoo n conditioner vl hlp in its recovery? How long would shampoo n conditioner last on shoulder length hair if used thrice a week? Stay Blessed Stay Happy 😘🤗🤩😍
Hi! The shampoo and conditioner has helped me a lot as I have thick course damaged hair and I also use the bond smoother and no.3 and I know they are an investment but they are well worth it! Within one wash my hair already felt better
Thnx Amelia for sharing your reviews ❤️🤗.. Any idea as how to remove build up of color from hair strands? (not the scalp).. Yesterday only got keratin treatment done (aftr 4 years of contemplation) 😁.. Stay Blessed Stay Happy 🤗😘😍

I just got no 6 my first olaplex purchase idk if it’s good or bad or I should return it and get something else ?
LOVEEEEE YOUR HAIR COLOR!!
I only use no. 6 and 7 so my hair is protected is that wrong?
Hi, i have 11 yr old daughter with beautiful hair Can you please make a video for children's hair...what products to use as her hair is drying and tangling too much ..I don't know what kind of products are safe but good for 5hat age
I really love the number three. It's just crazy that you can actually watch it oit and it still has fantastic benefits.
It’s true- it feels so wrong to wash it out!
My first olaplex purchase I brought no 6 that’s all is it good or bad or I should return it
for n°8 i have to layer another hair mask or my regular conditioner on top i find that works
Omg what is the sale?
Thanks for the rec! 💗
Thank you fir the review. What do you use for heat protection if you don’t use the oil?
I want to know why Olaplex doesnt work for me nor the Loreal dream water? Paraben and sulfate free products hate my hair also.😢
I think you use 8 on towel dried hair & let sit 10 min. Not use in the shower!❤
Thanks Anna! Xo
It’s Still NOT Clear to Me..the No 3, do we put on DRY DIRTY unwashed hair??? Then WASH your Hair??? Then Condition ?
I have and use the 3, 4, 5. The 3 is supposed to be put on damp hair. I wet it in the sink, towel dry so it’s not dripping, then use #3 and leave in for 10-30 minutes. Then rinse it out in shower followed by #4 shampoo, then #5 conditioner.
I wash my hair 1st. Then apply #3 in sections on damp hair.
@@AgathaVelvet do you wash again after you rinse #3 out?
@@Meow-Meow501, yes. Wash and condition as usual.
Actually, most of the time when I do a #3 treatment, I do a deep conditioning treatment after the final shampoo.
I have really ruined hair and just tried the number 3 and DO NOT LIKE IT at all, my hair was like just showing the ruined part, looking like a puff poodle tail 😢
U can use both #3 & #8 together wash out hair add 3 wait then rinse out then add 8
I got confused by your comment about the #8. You mentioned that it says use sparingly at the roots, but you said you need it the most on your ends. Is it possible you only used a lil on your dry ends? It's worked well for me so far. ☺️
Thanks Samantha- yup definitely misspoke on that one. I use on the mid shaft to ends
3,6,7,8 are amazing I mix 6&7 together 0,4&5 are trash
I agree! The number 6 is my FAVORITE! 🙌🏻 I can leave it on dry or wet hair
@@thehonestbeautyreview thanks for getting back to me! Cool. I'll give it a go without #5. Stuff is pricey! Lol. Keep up the great content! :)
Hi. Just a question from a past video. Does drmtlgy sunscreen have that typical sunscreen smell?? I last year I ended up buying the purito sunscreen which was great but I know the spf is lower that stated but at least it doesn’t have that traditional smell of a sunscreen
Hey Tina- it doesn’t have a strong chemical spf smell at all 👍🏻
I love the smell of sun cream. Why would you not want it to smell of it. Mad
Thank you so much i really needed this ❤️
Thx for review
I was wondering what’s the best if I choose only one but no one reviewed olaplex in my country
But now I got this video and I made my mind
Thank you~~~
Whay 2 and 1 not mentioned
Thanks for a great video Lauren! I've been contemplating trying Olaplex so this was super helpful!! I hope you and your family are doing well!! 💕💕💕
I have super short pixie bob hair and use two pumps of no 8. For long hair you need way more than that for sure
I worry about the chemicals! Yikes! Anything that goes on the scalp will be absorbed within the body....
Everything is a chemical Karen
would you be able to do an actual try on the NO.06 with a hair straightner? all I see on utube is blonde only reviews :( do u even use straightner after NO.06?
I use the number 6 and I use it before straightening.
I apply the number 6 to damp freshly washed and deep conditioned hair. When I blow dry, it gives me smooth results and cuts down my blow drying time. Then it gives me a shiny silky finish when I straighten my hair. I also have dense curly hair.
@@cherelliee do you use no. 6 alone without mixing it with no.7?
@@cassiecandle5950 I do! I put my hair into four sections and distribute evenly into each section. My hair is about 60-70% dry and then I go in with the blow dryer. I get really smooth results and it cuts down blow drying time.
i dont think youre using the products correctly.. they shouldn’t run out that fast no matter how thick your hair is. it takes time to see perfect results you cant just lather up the entire bottle on your hair
I found the video confusing as it jumped from the end backwards. Suggestion is to start from start to end.
Have you found dupes for these products that you can recommend?
It’s my mission! Hopefully I can update soon 🙏🏻
Fusionplex from Wella
@@tiffanybrousseau1259 thanks gonna check it out
@@tiffanybrousseau1259 it’s not the same patented ingredient. 🙄🙄🙄
Owe yeah new sub right here I just bought 3 skincare products from Marshals an it was 109 an we talking about Marshalls hunty they supposed to be cheaper than the retail price help me girl
Number 8 says use sparingly on the roots yet you referenced your ends saying that's where you need it most. Your ends are not your roots.
I orderd this and its taking so long to get here UGH 😣😭😭
I ordered mine from the Olaplex website and got it pretty quickly. I hope you get yours soon. I can’t wait to try mine out.
No 8 - I was standing in the shower and wondering if I'm crazy or the product just ended after 4 uses?! 😮😂
Totally unrelated and this is the first video I’ve watched of urs but are u from Philly? U just sound like one of my neighbors! #phillygirlhere
haha yup... how’d ya guess 😅 hey neighbor 👋🏻
Great review!!
I'm confused. At the end you said you recommend the number 6 over number 3. You were holding the number 7. I think you meant to say you recommend 6 over the 7, right?
yes you have guessed it right
I have bleached my hair in the past although that was about 4 years ago so I have virgin hair now.
Try number 6!
That was helpful! Thank you
Thnx Lauren💕..
I think the 0 and 8 at is a waste of money and too time consuming I prefer 3,4,5,6 and 7 at home
Awesome informative vid! Sounds like ur a fellow NYer too! Extra 👍🏻☺️
Hahahaha…..we could have co- hosted this video 😉. I had the exact same experience with the exact same products and I love the exact same products. And I just recently picked up the DermaE oil based on your recommendation and I LOVE it! Thank you:)
My hair isn’t as long as yours but it’s super thick and course and I have a ton of it 😳
Thanks beautiful you💕

Hi Tammy! I’m so glad you like the Derma e oil!
You convinced me thank you
Thank you!
Your roots are on the top of your head. You are pointing to your ends when reviewing number 8....
