what a fantastic organist ❤
I suppose I should be tired of this piece by now, but I sure wish I'd been in that grand Ripon Cathedral and feel as much as hear this great piece. And kudos on the tempo. We've heard a few that think they are playing Flight of the Bumble Bee!
This is one of the best renditions of no 5 if not the best. Ripon cathedral is perfect.
Excellent performance and a tempo allowing full clarity of sound rather than losing detail from being rushed as often is the case with other players. Well deserving of this fine Instrument and the acoustic of the Ripon Cathedral.
Magnificent rendition. Jonathan never disappoints. What a prodigious Organist.
This is my favourite organ piece. I persuaded my husband to have this as we walked out at our wedding in ripon cathedral. It was amazing and couldn’t stop grinning the whole walk from the alter
This was also played at my wedding! It really is quite a celebratory piece - perfect for finishing a wedding ceremony.
This was also played at my wedding on 9th September 1982. Sadly my wife has passed away. Thank you for reminding me that this piece was played.
❤
I would have been thrilled, but we chose Bach's Wachet Auf (Sleepers Awake). On a piano be cause I in my great ignorance thought it would be easier for my sister in law who played it. She would have greatly preferred the organ! As I would have. She forgave me fortunately. 😊 Forgiving myself took a bit longer..... Magnificent piece, and you who chose this chose well indeed!
@@colinstock325So sorry for your loss. Just a few years before our wedding.
I'm going to have to play this again tomorrow morning when I don't have to worry so much about disturbing the neighbours! 😂
You absolutely ripped this piece, the registration, dynamics and tempo, all spot on!
Thank you SO much for 'taking us along' to hear magnificent instruments we would probably never get to experience! So much artistry and dedication - Thank you!!!
Brill. Now get down the road to Selby, and please do it again, please.
I hate it when they rush this piece, absolutely spot-on for timing.
Would LOVE to hear that in person to feel the roar of the pedals!!! Awesome video as always. Thanks 🙏
Any Scott Brothers video is a treat and this one is as brilliant as you’d expect. Magnificent!!
I had this played at my wedding! Wonderful memory.
A wonderful and powerful instrument fully controlled by Jonathan on a piece that is difficult to play as Widor wrote it. Perfection IMHO. Fantastic video shooting, editing and sound by Tom. Thank you so much for sharing guy's.
Looks easy, doesn't it?
Hmm ...
Many thanks for yet another immaculate performance.
Wonderful (the organist, Widor's music, the organ, and Ripon Cathedral).
Wow played at a tempo that is real. Thank you
Once again, the artistic eye and technical acumen of Tom makes an extraordinary performance shine in a way no other organist's videos can touch!
How wonderful!!
Absolutely brilliant and amazing. The acoustics in this wonderful cathedral are fantastic and makes Jonathan’s playing of this well-loved piece sound even better. Tom’s filming and recording adding to the sheer joy of watching and hearing this. Magnificent!
There's nothing better than starting and spending a weekend with a great organ, Widor, Jonathan and filming Tom. 🎶🎹😍🙌👍🥰🙋🏻♀️ They rocked it as we already know! 🌪 Have a nice trip to South Korea. ✈️🙏
Ooooh listen to that tuba!!! I love this gorgeous Widor Toccata, & Jonathan's masterful rendition shines, as always! The fabulous organ at Ripon Cathedral is so well-suited to this piece. Love it, love it, love it!!! xx
I never get tired of hearing this piece! Thanks Jonathan (and Tom).
Oh wow, you made my day! I LOVE this piece. It feels traditional, and yet also joyful and adventurous.
One of my favourite organ pieces of all time!
Simply fab xx
Thank you, both. Another treat.
Saludos y mi reconocimiento de siempre al admirable Jonathan. Desde Querétaro (México) Juve Flores. Bravo por los hermanos Scott.
While we all know and love this piece, I would love to hear your Fantasy Toccata played on this magnificent instrument as well. This organ really shows off your skills. Thanks Bros. xx
Played at perfect speed.
Absolutely amazing Jonathan! 🤗👏👏👏👏❤ I love this piece!❤
A wonderful performance and sound. Thanks, Jonathan.
My mentor and good friend played this alot!! It was awesone to feel the bass pipes in the choir loft!
I would like to learn it.
Lovely thank you
On the day before flying home to Canada, my wife and I made a two hour trip to Ripon and another two hours back just to see Ripon Cathedral for ourselves. We knew how unlikely it was, but we had a secret hope that maybe the Scott Brothers would be there!. Even without the Scott Brothers, Ripon Cathedral was an amazing place to visit.
Good decision! Wonderful place and well worth going out of one's way to visit.
Fantastic performance and registration!
Simply spectacular - thank you both so much.
Just wonderful! Thank you two! ❤❤
Bravo, Jonathan! Your pacing with this wonderful toccata is perfect. Thank you!
I would give anything to be able to hear Jonathan playing this piece in person at Ripon Cathedral 🤩
What a privilege to be able to enjoy your grand music and fantastic videos.
Thanks my Dear Brothers for being aiways present. Best
Wow! You're spoiling us with another video. Ripon is amazing as is your Widor. Thanks for sharing.💐 🎹🎶
As you know, I'm sure, Ripon is the oldest City in Britain, founded in 886, something for Reading to think about
Wonderful start to the day!Thank you both; off to find some new superlatives in the dictionary. Have a wonderful trip to Korea!
A great rendition of this piece.
Maravilloso. Una verdadera delicia para los oídos!! Spectacular, gracias ❤❤
Jonathan Scott plays this piece with such magnificence. I have listened to him play this Toccata many times on my computer. I absolutely love this song. It is absolutely spell binding. Jonathan plays it at a tempo that is just perfection. His par excellence in playing the organ is just perfection. With much admiration I write this to Jonathan and say, you are a master musician. Thank you.
Bravo!👏
Beautiful venue, and a great rendition of a great organ clasic
Absolutely fine.
Einfach ein Traum.❤ Ein wundervoller Organist
Superb performance on Ripon's fine organ, Jonathan. Great filming of this beautiful Cathedral by Tom too. Widor played at its finest! Enjoy S. Korea & have a safe trip. 😊👏🎹🎹🎹🎵
Simply beautiful!! My compliments to you!
Thank you for sharing
This is my new addiction, I have to listen to this at least twice a day now❤
I love this piece and I am so happy to see you perform it! Your performance was wonderful! Will Ortiz
Terrific performance and video clip - all added to the atmosphere.
Aaaaaaah! I can never hear this too often. Jonathan's rendition is as good as it gets. Ripon's nice, but I'd love to hear him play it on the Cavaillé Coll at Saint Sulpice. The tempo was perfect. Far too many otherwise technically competent organists play this far too fast.
I hope he is made Manchester City Organist, for THEIR Cavaille-Coll, when it's all sorted!
@@erikthenorviking8251 Now that's something to look forward to!
@@davidstewart4570and the rebuild at Leeds Town Hall.
I never get tired of listening to this music. As someone who cannot play any instrument, I’m in awe at how the organist plays an accompanying tune with his FEET! How does his brain cope with this?
Yes, too many organists play it too fast. Watched the composer, Charles Marie Widor play it, and he played it slowly.
Jonathan and Tom give
lots of work to the fans. We have to enjoy, dislike to enjoy again. Comment, comment again, complement the comment after watching the video once, twice, three, four times.... 😂🤣
Correcting my text: never dislike. What I meant to say is that the Scott brothers give us a "pleasant task" in watching and listening to their videos being played. I'm one of the first to praise what they do.
Beautiful rendition of one of my very favourite organ compositions. It was played at the end of my sister and brother-in-law's wedding at Rochester Cathedral in Jan 1970 as we processed from the quire to the west door. Sadly my sister and I had to take that same walk in September behind my brother-in-law's coffin after his funeral service, on that occasion to a beautiful anthem sung by the cathedral choir. We have heard a couple of far less well played renditions. At the Brighton Dome, the organist must have had a train to catch, and at the funeral of my partner's cousin, the organist made such a hash of it, he actually gave up halfway through - rather embarrassing.
Beautiful!
Wow! This is by far my favourite organ piece and Ripon Cathedral is the first place I ever heard it - probably nearly 50 years ago now at a Ripon Grammar School commemoration service.
If anyone ever gets chance to visit the Cathedral please do so. It is, in my biased opinion, the finest Cathedral in England. Less flashy than many but if you're interested in Christian History or architecture it is an absolute gem.
Thank you - this video has made my day.
A sound and a piece I will never tire of.
Perfectly executed and the ending played exactly the way I like it - drawn out and emphatic. Very well done, sir!
Magnificent
That Harrison & Harrison Ophicleide is truly BADASS!!! Wonderful playing Jonathan and love the tempo you played.
Outstanding Jon! Thank you
Great music and amazing organist !
This is amazing. A magnificent performance of my favourite piece of music.
epic bro
Hallo,
Tom,s filming and recording splendid!!!! Thank you very much!!
What a amazing wonderful sound in the Ripon Cathedral wauw.
❤❤With Love from the Netherlands
This really must be one of Harrison and Harrison’s finest organs.
I was waiting just fot this one!!!❤❤❤
Btw. I wonder how is it that this church didn't collapse because of this huge sound?
🤦♂️😂😂!!!
Have you seen how large those stone columns are?
@@Tom-Lahaye can you read sarcasm/irony?
Stunning music in a stunning cathedral
Great job, Jonathan. I particularly like the tempo. In my opinion it is played too fast by most organists and the nuances are lost.
Your play is perfection. Thank you for sharing. 👏
PS: I had no idea that the Ripon Cathedral Organ could sound this good! 🙂
Both Organist and instrument Superb! So clean and unhurried, best I have heard. Thank you
Best version, you can distinctly hear each note with the beautiful harmonies 😊
I hope there’s a pipe organ in Heaven!
Just gorgeous!
Never fails to move me, I wish I could play an organ
Wow just amazing!!
Jonathan looks the most natural and comfortable while playing this particular piece.
Fantastic!
If this is the same Ripon cathedral I washers 35 years ago what a beautiful piece
I first heard this piece on Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 😂 it'll always remind me of the cool new coasters and content
Wow
The memories of that song in grace cathedral played by John Renee would be so magnificent id cry to the beauty of its melody & grace & power. It simply filled it heart w so .much emotional content it was that impactful hearing it every Easter Sunday from the age of 6 to 13. A masterpiece
This evokes soo much feelings. What a beautiful beautiful score!!!! Fabulous job to this gentleman!!!
Our organist learnt this especially for me when I married in our local church in 1983 I had been in the choir for 10 years, my best wedding gift❤
Grazie, Maestro.
My favourite organ piece played superbly. Thank you so much 🙏🌟
This is superb, Thank You!
Wife picked this for our walk out music on wedding day almost 34 years ago. Didn’t understand at the time how good this idea…
Christ is the instigator of all that is beautiful
very precise playing from the music.
Bravo......not rushed as is often the case.
Awesome
The first cathedral organ i played was Ripon.
First rate as always, boys.
One wrong pedal and you're done for... Absolutely brilliant! 👏👏👏
Good double thump on the final chord
Super
First to get here!
Awesome video and playing as always!!
I wouldlike to know; how many of these graet organs exist in the world today?
