I cannot put into words how exciting it is to be finally starting Helms Deep. Trying to build this board as a nine year old, and opening my first box of LOTR Warhammer I got for Christmas is like a core memory for me, and to be finally going on this journey with the support of Wētā Workshop and Elegoo is just incredible. The summer weather, the old Rohan metal models, the sound of the battle of Helms Deep as I'm working, this is just PEAK nostalgia, and I cannot wait to give you all a finished Helms Deep video for Christmas

I think it’s absolutely outstanding that Weta is aiding you in your quest to make every key part of middle earth. Honestly it’s great to see that you are using printers to make your builds easier, this way you can devote more time to painting and making the topography and ground cover look as realistic as possible. I knowwwwwwwwwwwwww right!!!!! I'm hoping to get them don,e we'll see how the views do. I'll focus the main keep first, but if the videos perform well I want to do a full interior linking the stables and inner hall down to the caves and then an undergate in behind the Deeping Wall.
@@Roger-v9x I cant see why he cant blend the two in parts, the small pools of dripping stalagmites starting where the little stream runs out of the mountains to the drain, with the more glorious glittering gems and glimmering walls deeper in and more present to the dug into section closer to the Great Hall
He is but he was only saying things like this aren't financially viable a few days ago and then makes this. I love this and I love his work but I don't know why he's not listening and just doing paint tutorials and battle reports. Makes no sense 🤷
I am really excited for this although I find it funny that most of the comments below previous videos regarding the struggles of the channel where like "finish one project" and he just starts an entire new one 😂😂
Probably the right way to interpret this is that this is not a new project.. It is just the minas tirith board that stretches all the way from gondor to rohan

The one thing all of us built with whatever we had on hand. I used those different coloured rods we used as kids to make a full Helms Deep. It was so close to be finished before my cousin knocked over the tip of the Hornburg tower and smashed the entire castle. They were never forgiven for their transgressions.
Iv been watching zorpazorp videos for years now and it’s really amazing to see how far these boards and dioramas have come since the beginning from foam card ruins all the way up to 3D printing scenes.Can wait to see what else is coming. Great job my man
In my memory, the caves don't join up to the keep - When Gimli is forced to retreat into the cave, he's unable to join the final siege-breaking assault.
I love your Weta collabs, they're my favourite videos. They also added a lot of extra depth to when I finally got to visit Weta myself earlier this year! Helm's Deep is looking awesome. I really love that you include the Blender process, and also the extra physical work you do to the prints. So much more than 'print, paint, done'. Crack on with the board mate!

Helm's Deep has always been a most important spot in LotR for me - from the time I read about it in the books ("We are the fighting Uruk-hai") and then once again in second movie. This will be glorious!

This is a huge project and I for one cant wait to see the rest. The level of detail and love put into this project is something everyone should aspire too.
I don't know if it is possible considering the dynamic nature of the projects but if you could have a checklist of the different stages for each project that gets shown in the videos it could help with showing a sense of progress

6:15 Frankly having the merlons actually be of an effective height would be an upgrade in my view. One of those choices the designers made for the movie that kinda weakens the design of the castle as a castle.
The Deeping Wall looks fantastic! Really excited to watch your Helm's Deep come together. It's also really cool to see the folks at Weta collaborating, and props to them and Elegoo for lending their support.
This is epic. My favourite outdoor location in the whole trilogy, I also tried to make it as a 12 year old when it came out, completely inspired by the model they made in White Dwarfs 276/277 (my first copies!). I made a flimsy cardboard version with not an ounce of realism, but the epic siege we played on it over a whole afternoon lives long in the memory. 20+ years later and with some actual hobby skills, mainly learned from your videos, I've been making my own miniature version of Weta's model. To see the master's version in full 28mm scale will be incredible!!

Amazing stuff, looking forward to this. For the massive cliff faces perhaps you should use the Woodland Scenics understructures and sheets? I've seen other creators use it for big sections and with plaster over the top it looks brilliant and keeps the weight down by a lot.
At this point i would really love to see any of the projects finished, as the sort of pattern occured: big initial TH-cam movie about printing and painting… grey wall, then another about painting more grey walls, and then hype for new project runs out, so: time for another grey wall project.
It's fantastic the way you have so much support from the big boys and the little folk. Printers, access to files, are all votes of confidence. Keep it up.

like... dude, im happy for you, but please for the love of god just finish your other projects first, at this point its genuinely just annoying, i want so badly to see your boards finished in all their glory, but we never do, you always move to something else without finishing the board before hand. for the fist time i have no desire to watch your vids anymore because i know that there is a very good chance that this wont get finished, and if it does itll likely come at the cost of all the other projects that youve left half baked, please bro, just finish a project, give a nice conclusion to your series, not jump ship to a new one when you get board or see viewer count die. Viewers arent losing interest in your boards, theyre losing interest in the eternally unfinished state of them/ People want to see a cool board being made, not half of one being started and left unfinished!

For working with putty, you can dilute it with extra thin cement. This makes it easier to work with, layers are thinner, so less waste and it's easier to create textures. Lovely job !!! Keep up the good work.

This is truly epic! I am just restarting painting some of my old MESBG armies and this makes me so unbelievably hyped to continue with them. Awesome build as always, cannot wait to see the evolution. This will be every LOTR miniature fans lifelong dream to see in 28mm scale.
My Brother in law built helms deep years ago for himself ago without 3D printers. 3D printing was not a think in the early 2000s. :D Its so cool what you can do today with all the modelling stuff and 3D printing. Building helms deep is everytime something special. Because Lord of the rings has a big place in my heart and the helms deep part of the film was one of the best I've ever seen in a movie.
I'm so excited to see natural scenery again. I started following you back in the buckleberry ferry days and loved the rock work and greenery so excited to see more of this side. I also am looking forward to the resin poor as I think it looks so good on a smaller scale rather than the flat stillness of the Osgiliath board. Very excited

This Tamiya putty texturing approach is great. I've seen it used a lot to make Tanks look cast iron. One thing that you might want to consider playing with (armour modellers do this) is a gentle sanding pass with a sanding sponge to knock back any bits that are sticking out too much.
