Jaitapur Nuclear Power Project is a proposed nuclear power plant in India. If built, it would be the largest nuclear power generating station in the world by net generation capacity, at 9,900 MW The power project is proposed by Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) and would be built at Madban village of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra.
On 6 December 2010 agreement was signed for the construction of a first set of two third-generation European Pressurized Reactors and the supply of nuclear fuel for 25 years in the presence of French president Nicolas Sarkozy and Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh.French state-controlled nuclear engineering firm Areva S.A. and Indian state-owned nuclear operator Nuclear Power Corporation of India signed the agreement, valued about $9.3 billion. This is a general framework agreement that was signed along with the agreement on 'Protection of Confidentiality of Technical Data and Information Relating to Nuclear Power Corporation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy'. The plant construction was expected to start in late 2018. As of June 2019, NPCIL officials could not give a time-frame as to when the Jaitapur plant would be operational.

I am from Nuclear industry and I want to add one more point.
NPCIL already determined that operating cost of this plant is going to be much greater than existing plants that NPCIL is running due to various reasons.
Therefore from many years, NPCIL is unwilling to construct here with the help of Areva. They would prefer to deploy indegineous technology which is much cheaper.
Govt is trying to pressurise NPCIL to complete deal with Areva in order to promote Indo-French relations but also asking NPCIL to take full liability of all finances.
Thus NPCIL is not very keen on the offer and not trying to make much progress.

@Yogesh Rawool You know when Chernobyl Nuclear power plant's only one reactor out of 4 each of whose capacity of 1GW, explode its nuclear radiation was detected in Finland and Sweden, which is 1900KM apart from the accident site. Sweden had to evacuate its workers of their nuclear power plants bcz they thought nuclear leaks was on their plants. I think the distance between Jaitapur and Mumbai is definitely not more than or even close to 1900Km, and also this reactor is too world's largest reactor by capacity, so its risk will be huge. Hence never underestimate Nuclear radiation, It's all about luck, what's your wind speed, which direction, and if by mistakenly mixed in sea water, can cause huge damage to marine lives.
I too understand the importance of Nuclear plant but please built them of seismic zone free region like in southern India.

India needs to work on its plans of Thorium. If India is able to succeed in this project then majority of the issues being highlighted in this video will be solved.
1.Thorium is more stable when compared to Uranium.
    2. The waste product that is produced by Thorium is not radio-active in nature.
    3. Thorium powered plants are less prone to radiation leakage when compared to Uranium powered plants
The problem I'd hot water can solved by using chillers which can cool the water to regular temperature and the same water can then be reused for the process.

If everything is taken care of efficiently only then this project will do good to the people. Very had video. Reading out news articles 😡
You mentioned about the specific problems with the project.
Then you said that in 2018 contract is signed and construction will begin in 2021-23.
Then next topic should be how and by what logic YOU think the problems identified earlier are taken care off. If not then state that clearly.
Why did you have to jump to the benefits?
You are just another guy making stupid videos of hot topics without thorough research and study.

If they use thorium instead of Uranium then it will be good as Thorium is safer than Uranium and nowadays most of nuclear power plants use thorium instead.

Nuclear is much better than coal from emissions perspective. Yet have great respect for Tata. If TISS had concerns they must be genuine.
