Maybe India did, but certainly not China with their coal plant addiction. The west is basically giving up nuclear plants which is 5 times more efficient and less carbon footprint compared to coal plants, and replacing them with fossil fuel plants. There's a reason why many are pessimistic about the future of our world. Sadly even if India did convert to green energy 100% and the rest of the big powers did not, there isn't much to expect in the future but a climate dystopia.
@@julesbrags1661 Nuclear projects are opposed by green activists even in india. The last prime minister (who was from a left wing party btw ) even had said NGOs of these activists were funded by foreign forces (which basically indirectly meant giant oil corporations) .

The test for these guys is going to be how to they balance the fossil and non-fossil fuel parts of their business. They need the fossil fuel business to generate the cash to expand their green energy business, but at the same time take the heat for the fossil fuel energy . The quicktake producers need a round of applause since some how they managed to also take a potshot at Modi about the farmer protest when there is zero relation between the topic of the video and the protest. They need to be nominated for a Pulitzer for their commitment and creativity.
i think they are looking at the better profits margins they have to buy the oil but they can produce green h2 on their own the profits will be off the charts as they will sell what they producing themselves oil will not completely go away, bigger vehicles will still use oils like big ships maybe they also want to produce the h2 compatible vehicles as well, but i think TATA will take this part solar energy business will boom regardless as there is no shortage of customers if they managed to produce it efficiently Please note, renewable energy is the future, it will take over market regardless its just the matter of time they probably realized this and want to monopolize it before someone else does
I think india is very clear about it's goal. PM Modi has already said that for every new coal plant in Asia, west must close 3 of their own to solve climate issue. When the time comes Asia will do the same for Africa. He also suggested for those who are impatient that west should provide $1.3 T aid to India for achieving target in 2040. As the video shows plenty of poor ppl, India wants to achieve atleast US/china level per capita emissions. US n china has large airfleets, India has needs to match them.
With countries like India, having population of 1.4 Billion, u can't just move from Fossil fuels to Green Energy in few decades. Especially when you take into account the buying capacity of people. Green energy is costlier. So, atleast they have to started to manufacture infrastructure in India to reduce the price. Coal will still be there for next 3 4 decades. That's reality though a sad one. And this is what Developed Countries should keep in mind with few million population.
It is a misjudgment that green energy is more expensive especially when looking forward. Renewable energy is/will be the cheapest way if generating energy available
Having people be critical of fossil fuel companies pivoting to green energy is a negitive. Of course they will profit off harmful practices but they are the companies of the massive amounts of capital and long view point that will invest heavily in the future of green energy.
