I quit cigarettes 12 years ago, and I can confidently say (for myself, anyway) that the sugar detox was bad but not that bad. It didn't last as long either. Thank you for this video Mike, and for everything you do to advance this message.
I keep hearing how wonderful green tea is and so I drink it every morning. I've never been a coffee drinker and I do sometimes drink energy drinks (which I know are not healthy) but I do plan on doing exactly as you suggested by going off the caffeine, then the sugar and eventually the flour. But going back to the green tea, what if I tried drinking it with maybe lemon juice as a sweetener? Or is it even the small amount of caffeine in it that is the problem? I do have a severe lifelong sugar addition that I've been trying to get under control my entire life and I plan to conquer it in 2023!! So as challenging as I know this is going to be I am going to make it happen! 👍
Caffeine will keep the cravings alive. It acts on the same brain reward chemicals. We need to move away from activating them with substances to heal totally and live a cravings free life... You can do this!
Day 123 for me! I have experienced all the mentioned side effects and still am. I want more just plain happy days, they are sparse. Just move more, as I sit here and answer my next questions. Do you have any idea when the 15 happen less often?
Please remember that we have been pounding our brain reward receptors manually for DECADES. Please give it time. Congrats on 123 days but total wellness takes time. Soon you will be saying you didn't know you could feel this good!
Every time I try to stop it’s like my primal brain takes over with the doom feeling severe hopeless depression. I give in every time I’m so tired of giving in to that urge. I just got to get past the first part of depression. It gives me AKATHISIA so it’s been hard to stop. I’ve had anhedonia for awhile now that’s how I became addicted ho sugar is a benzodiazepine withdrawal my doctor stopped my medication abruptly
