    This was an awesome watch! I'm usually scared to watch videos like this because I'm a hardcore drinker but I've been taking a lot of vitamins and probiotics and stuff like that And mentally I've been wanting to quit for the longest time . I've been sober for three days "thats huge for me" Hopefully I don't get any withdrawals. Thanks again for your input :) Good luck everyone!

    For me, it's the anxiety. Severe, severe anxiety. I go on binges where i drink varing amounts for a week or two at a time before it gets to be too much.
    My go-to is pints of vodka and nasty stuff called 4 lokos. At 14%, they are the equivalent of 6 beers each can. I imagine that between the two, i can hit the equivalent of upwards of 30 beers in a day. Probably closer to 20 on most days.
    It will get to the point where i can barely swallow the alcohol and my body wants to throw it up. My eyes get bloodshot. My eyelids get swollen. I get in really bad shape, and the days start to blur together.
    This comes with severe dehydration and almost zero sleep. These two things are a huge part of the problem. It sends my anxiety wild.
    I know that both are very dangerous and can be deadly on their own. So this plays on my mind. I know that both can have symptoms that are like alcohol withdrawal symptoms.
    So then incomes the not knowing how much of these symptoms are from actual alcohol withdrawal and how much are they from dehydration and sleep deprivation?
    I basically freak out on the fear of the unknown. My mind racing about "what made me feel that? What could that have been? Am i going to have a heart attack? A stroke? Is my body going to shut down? Am i going to have a seizure?
    I tend to get stumble on my words and come off kinda slow. I get more sensitive to sound, but it comes in the form of thinking that the sound of the dishwasher is music playing or something like that. And so that plays on me, too. Knowing what it could possibly mean, but again, not knowing if it's actually the withdrawal or from not sleeping? It's a nightmare and absolutely exhausting. Going through it right now.

      Only around 10% of drinkers are physically dependent. Alcohol use disorder falls on a spectrum so it all depends on where your drinking falls on the spectrum as to whether you'll need medical intervention to stop or not.

    Yes most people can quit cold turkey, but if you're an alcoholic like myself. I wouldn't unless under, the advice first of your Doctor. Cos you will experience severe symptoms, like delirium tremens also sometimes seizures and hallactions . When I first give up alcohol , I experienced delirium tremens. Which was so unpleasant and scary, I was that bad a nurse had to give me cup with four liberim in it to ease myself down. I was close to fitting, that's how severe mine was . Problem drinkers and alcoholics as myself. Experienced, when doing it the first time. So my best advice and opinions, is if you're not any of them. Then yes it's fine , you won't go through. Them unpleasant symptoms, if you're an alcoholic. Please don't cos it could be fatal , you could die . That's how serious it is , unless if it's done in a hospital . Or in a detoxing clinic. Or by your Doctor's advice , I really hate . How powerful this poison, has in the body and brain. I really wish in the future, they would ban this shit . Do all of us a favour, and put proper warnings. On all of it , wake people up to. Know that this liquid gold isn't that . It's poison , and jazzing it up with different flavours. Doesn't change it , or makes it better. Let people know, it's toxic, addictive and. It can kill you!

      @@stevecooper7038 In what way is my comment ignorant? I'm not cursing or saying anything out of the way or malicious. I'm saying from my own experience, as a recovering alcoholic . Whos sober my second time 16 months , so again what all wrong . Have I said?? all I said was my advice , and that for people who aren't problem drinkers. It's mostly okay, for them to stop , cos it's more than likely. They wouldn't experience, the most severe unpleasant symptoms, like withdrawal, deetees, delirium tremens. All I have experienced, as an alcoholic. Also I said, for anyone who's alcoholics, it wouldn't be a good idea . To detox yourself, not without the advice from a Doctor. Cos an alcoholic will No1 , face all them unpleasant symptoms and no2. In some cases , them symptoms could be fatal, from chronic alcoholics okay. So I don't have to do my research, I know this through . As I said again by through my own experience. so hope that's cleared the matter up !

    • @ThisNakedMind
      @ThisNakedMind  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, if you're concerned about withdrawals you should consult with a physician but only 10% of drinkers fall into the physically addicted category so for most a medical detox will not be needed.

      @@ThisNakedMind That's a good idea, I must mention. To my Doctor, see if I mite . Need to see one, cos with all this lockdown. It's completely knocked me, off my whole routine. Is making the cravings and, old ways flare up again. Hopefully I don't need to see a physician , it'll definitely see . What my Doctor or Psychologist, says about . They mite be all for it , cos any extra . To get me through this, I won't turn it down in a hurry and. I really appreciate, all your help and advice. I really do appreciate it very much.

      100% correct. Infact you can suffer severe withdrawals just from a weekend bender. Alcohol withdrawals can be extremely dangerous regardless of how much one drinks. it all depends on the persons tolerence and Gaba brain receptors ability to cope with the sudden changes. I get horrid physical withdrawals and I mean really horrid. Swallowing diffcaulties, weird muscle spams, tongue feels like its not in my mouth or throat closing up, severe anxiey, panic attacks, weird colours in my eyes, increased tinnitus and this strange cog like feeling on the tops of my hands as if they're being pulled by strings and it's awful to the point I cannot use my hands right unless I drink at least a beer. Something else I get is this strnage feeling of super slow motion, sounds sound enhanced and things llok magnified yet they don't and I get this really slow movie style action scene feeling alongside a really heavy chest feeling as if someone is sat on my chest but it isn't painful it is heavy and annoying and that usually causes or works together with the swallowing issue I only get whehn withdrawing. Puking up my stomach and feeling sick and stuck in a rant is not even a one off thing either. I get symptoms that do not even come up in the list of withdrawal symptoms but I know they're related to alcohlism or at the least self medicating. idk if i'm unlukcy as I don't drink to the point of 2 liters of spritis a day no food aspect. I drink a few beers, some cider, maybe some wine if i'm desperate but I eat 3-5 times a day and sleep and can socialise and function like a non drinker. I just feel some of my withdrawals are bizzare and after about halfway through day too they lessor and become a foggy/hazy flaoting feeling before subsiding. I still drink but less.

    • @thomaspage2773
      @thomaspage2773 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@iguiste23 I can relate ,to all that man. I got most of them problems, over my last few years of heavy drinking. Its not pleasant at all , especially trying to detox yourself. On days when not drinking, my Doctor told me, you shouldn't be doing that. Considering way , you're a heavy drinker. You could die, doing that cos lot of says I got deetees, irritable, sweating etc. Thats why now, I would never want to relapse. Cause putting myself through all that again, isn't worth it . That's why I just accept, I can't ever drink in moderation. Its all or nothing, I know if I relapse. I'll be a road to disaster, won't end up good. Hope things get ,better for yourself take care .

      @@ThisNakedMind easier said than done. I live off grid in a rural community where there isn't any services. I started weening myself off and have stopped hard liquor now for two days. I'm trying to keep my beer consumption to less than 6 in a night. Tonight will be tough but I have no choice. I can't ever let my body and mind feel like that again. That first night was terrible but the last two have been tolerable so I'm just going to keep trying what I'm doing. I really appreciate your response and wish you a happy new year!

      We do advise that if one is concerned about physical withdrawal symptoms to consult with their physician.
