Hi, I’ve tried a few times in the past to stop drinking but they never lasted, today I decided to stop drinking all together. I’m glad I found this video because I think the Experiment will be really helpful with the mental aspect. Thanks!
Thank you for a very cool video Annie! I gave up drinking about a month ago and hearing what you said in the video just re-enforced what made me decide to go "cold turkey" in the first place. Very happy to have come across this video and I have saved it in my bookmarks folder to share with anyone that I think might benefit from it as I did.
I’m starting a new job new career. Can’t go into it with my old habits of going to work hung over . Starting new beginning getting rid of self sabotaging habits.
I’m going cold turkey on Alcohol I will only drink on my birthday Christmas new year’s hope that I stick to my word it’s quite difficult but, I have to do it because health matters .
Going cold turkey was the physical action I took to quit. Mentally, I was preparing to quit for some time. Annie’s book was what I needed to get over the hump.
@@davidroyl2241 I did not. I felt like I was giving up a habit is all. I assume that everyone feels differently with various amounts of anxiety and discomfort.
I’ve gone through times where I would drink 20-30 beers a day for weeks at a time and I’ve never gone through alcohol withdrawals. Some people are just built different I guess 🤷♂️ 🍻 🚗 🎉
Well, the worst symptoms i've ever had ( and i've withdrawn myself from booze many times) was Little to No sleep for the first week, severe itching for a couple days after getting better each day, Anxiety and then i get this effect where if i try to force myself to go to sleep,as i'm dozing off I Panic and jerk myself awake. it happens quite a few times and then eventually i fall asleep fully.

I quit cold Turkey I was more a one night a week binge drinker than a habitual every day drinker , I’m off it 11 months but I’m still taking it day by day , I still get cravings but let them pass over me ...
For me, it's the anxiety. Severe, severe anxiety. I go on binges where i drink varing amounts for a week or two at a time before it gets to be too much. My go-to is pints of vodka and nasty stuff called 4 lokos. At 14%, they are the equivalent of 6 beers each can. I imagine that between the two, i can hit the equivalent of upwards of 30 beers in a day. Probably closer to 20 on most days. It will get to the point where i can barely swallow the alcohol and my body wants to throw it up. My eyes get bloodshot. My eyelids get swollen. I get in really bad shape, and the days start to blur together. This comes with severe dehydration and almost zero sleep. These two things are a huge part of the problem. It sends my anxiety wild. I know that both are very dangerous and can be deadly on their own. So this plays on my mind. I know that both can have symptoms that are like alcohol withdrawal symptoms. So then incomes the not knowing how much of these symptoms are from actual alcohol withdrawal and how much are they from dehydration and sleep deprivation? I basically freak out on the fear of the unknown. My mind racing about "what made me feel that? What could that have been? Am i going to have a heart attack? A stroke? Is my body going to shut down? Am i going to have a seizure? I tend to get stumble on my words and come off kinda slow. I get more sensitive to sound, but it comes in the form of thinking that the sound of the dishwasher is music playing or something like that. And so that plays on me, too. Knowing what it could possibly mean, but again, not knowing if it's actually the withdrawal or from not sleeping? It's a nightmare and absolutely exhausting. Going through it right now.

Hello there are allot of quit drinking alcohol you tube channels. I have say I have not had a drink for 100 days starting today. I don't feel allot better and I look the same .
Yes most people can quit cold turkey, but if you're an alcoholic like myself. I wouldn't unless under, the advice first of your Doctor.
