This song really captures how unfair the Decision Game was for everyone. A game designed to kill six or more of the players, that prevents them from communicating and pressures them into killing one another to save their own skins. Even if they survive, they have to live with the knowledge of what they've done, forever.
@@mrshpit nah. She was still after the Ringleader of free the soul. She had no evidence brother was behind the extinction project, only that he had plans to release Rad-6 into the world.
@@mrshpit if akane got her way VLR would always happen. The goal had 3 reasons 1. Delta wanted to see what would happen as a scientist he was curious. 2. He wanted to ensure his own existence 3. He wanted to direct akane’s attention to the real enemy. She was dead set on destroying free the soul based on revenge for 999.
This piece creates a certain bleakness that I could not find in any other track. There is something about this track, that just leaves a gaping hole in my heart. There is a bit of Morphogenetic Sorrow in the middle, which, just gives this feeling of tieing the entire series together. I absolutely adore it.
This is what I like how about VLR and ZTD - having an amazing credits theme. Every time I'd get an ending and hear the soothing, yet haunting music, it would sound better each time I listened to it. Not many games can do that.
This one makes me really emotional. Just the feeling you get when you complete one of the endings and this song begins to play....I cried way too much in this game lmao
This track just fits the feeling of ZTD so well. The piano that comes back in around 2:40 gets me every time. I'm so glad I got to play this game and experience the series as a whole.
Charlotte Anne I've beat ZTD and VLR. Gonna get Nonary game collection and beat 999 and then VLR one last time. Fucking wonderful game series and I am so glad I played them. Amazing.
2:12-2:40 after D-END 2 had me gasping for air. It's such a powerful moment in the track, incredibly grim... right before it lets you go with a Morphogenetic Sorrow motif, bringing hope back. Amazing, amazing work by Shinji Hosoe.
Replayed the game again and this is still my favourite theme. It's just so powerful for all the endings. One of the moments that gets me the most is Delta saying "Mom". Like imagine. That's the first time in his life that he's been able to say that to his mother. The fact that she's the only one who he doesn't kill in that ending says a lot too. I just feel so sad for all the members of Sigma's family.
It's funny because Zero Time Dilemma would probably be everyone's favorite Zero Escape game if it weren't for the myriad of problems it has. Fun fact: Zero Time Dilemma is called Zero Escape in Japan. For American audiences, that just has a certain symbolism to it, huh.
it's genuinely very close to being my favorite in several ways, but VLR beats it by not having to bear the weight of wrapping up the entire series haha
@@plightshift Same here. VLR has a certain atmosphere and nostalgia about it for me by now (when I wrote this comment, I think it hadn't been too long since I'd beat it).
@@thekiss2083 Eric and Mira are genuinely confusing inclusions to me. They end up being the weakest characters given the most have some sort of weight to them. It leaves Q team in a awkward spot overall, given it's the wholly original one. But even with that, they could have been...y'know, relevant outside of being the "guaranteed unstable" ones. Oh, and the fact that Mira is indirectly responsible for all of the terrible events of the whole Zero Escape trilogy, but the less we go down that rabbit hole, the better.
I really liked this game but it was VERY flawed. I feel like in retrospect this was probably bound to happen. A lot of the time in so many cases, when a story is written in the way that zero escape was written, a massive finale installment that ties up all of the loose ends is destined to end up as a disappointment in at least some regard. I feel like they mostly were just really over ambitious in this one. The 3D animations were really not good and I understand having 3D animations in some small parts like VLR did but they did not need to go so hard as they did. I would have been really happy if they kept the fully animated segments to really important moments like endings and important game overs. Also zero was really not that great of a main villain in the end. I thought that a lot of the game was really well written (especially Carlos and D-team’s endings) but the weird Delta POV reveal was kinda dumb in my opinion. I understand why they did it because that’s sort of just what zero escape does. Mess with the format of the game to reveal big twists. But it just wasn’t as well written as the last two. I feel like I could have taken it more seriously if they handled the Q/Sean name stuff better. I still thought that overall the game was great
Yeh, I've played the first two. To avoid spoilers, what I didn't like was all the plot points that either got glossed over or ignored that got set as cliffhangers in the second game, some characters acting way different than their usual personalities, the awkward animated models and facial expressions (3D portraits like in VLR would've worked better), and the main villian is just plain ridiculous, and their motivations lacking. There's probably more things that I didn't like, but those are my main complaints. Gameplay and soundtrack were still top notch, but everything else got botched over. Carlos was the only redeeming new character IMO. At the very least, the series got an ending instead of hanging in the 2nd part.
They could've been so much more tho. They were on the right track when developing Eric, but then the story stops to a standstill and doesn't really move until the very last part. Mira was supposed to be much more developed too, according to Uchi.
Vagkws It was a okay game, but it makes me sad that this is how the Zero Escape series ended. ZTD didn't live up to the amazing quality of 999 and VLR. I wonder what Zero Time Dilemma would have been if VLR had sold well in Japan. The Zero Escape series deserved so much better...
we know that in it's early stages ztd had only sigma as a playable character so tha may be why there are so many plot holes here. by adding 2 characters he needed to rewrite most of it.i just hope that a directors cut dlc or a remake will happen
Vagkws Interesting. If there is another one, I'm not sure what they will do. Will they reboot Zero Escape? Will they reboot Zero Time Dilemma? Will they make a sequel to ZTD? (please don't) They might even not make another Zero Escape game but make a new franchise. We'll just have to wait and see.

Well the main goal is to stop Akane’s bloodlust. Basically it’s designed to show the truth
@@johnwhittington2998 What do you mean? Didn't she satisfy her bloodlust in 999? And the main goal of ZTD are "complex motives"?

So haunting and tragic... I love the not-quite-human-not-quite-digital voice.

Ben S that's not what Luna sounds like
I associate this one most strongly with Mira's ending. Absolutely haunting and beautiful in all the right ways.
Considering that's the first time you hear it (i think)
+No one even cares pretty sure that the first time you hear it is after the coin toss, like three minutes into the game
Darknesser haha, yeah you're right I forgot. I guess I meant the first major ending you get after Payoff
No one even cares Not surprised, that one ending really came out of nowhere and was pretty forgettable~
