    0:00-1:05
    A man rides his horse into town, calling for the church to ring its bells. Many are confused, but some understand what is happening. Quickly, a couple of men set up a little recruitment station-small, fragile, and brittle, just an old table, some ink, a quill, and two chairs. As the news spread of the revolution, many men signed up in a heartbeat. Ragged clothing, poor working class, now become armed with muskets, men readying themselves in a minute.
    1:06-2:40
    The other half of these men and boys marched in a single-column formation, led by a single man on the horse, for he would be in charge of training these boys into men, and men into soldiers. They finally reached a base camp along their long journey, their first experience was marching together from afar, they got that down, and now they need to know how to work the guns and tactics. Once they reached camp, they rested in their tents. Days and Nights would pass, turning into weeks and months as these men train to become professional soldiers. Finally, at the end, they reached their completion, they were now given blue coat uniforms, patches, and symbols of the new Continental Army.
    2:41-3:53
    These men... no.. these soldiers now march in tight formation, their faces determined with might as they head forth to confront the red coats that have transgressed upon their lands. As they passed some towns along the way, bells rang in the distance, the call to arms continued to spread, and just like before, rugged column formations could be seen as these new recruits marched to basic camps, for you are now here to defend not only your home, land, property, and life, but for your countrymen. Days passed by as armies clashed on the field, and battles raged across the continent over the years.
    3:54-4:59
    The siege of Yorktown is over, finally, the war has been won. Men and women cheer throughout the country, celebrating the grand defeat of the British. With the help of the French and her allies, the British surrendered and thus, the birth of a new nation. People fly the stars and stripes, a circle of stars, fireworks light up the night sky, and the soldiers can now rest back at home, with their wives and kids, knowing that they are safe from a global empire, hundreds of miles away. This wouldn't be the country's last fight, but it was the beginning of a union, a union that would tear itself apart, a union that would be challenged by the global powers, a union that would lead democracy to the stars, a union which still stands today and hopefully, forever more!

    Just like the Mexico one, these are meant to represent the nations at their prime, the US on it's beginnings was a giant in the making, but just like any other big world power both of old and new, it is now merely an old man living off his past glories. Civ does well to remind us that history is about the ebb and flow of human activity, it's about the people, not the particular rulers or political views, it's about the Egyptian farmer sowing the first harvests after the Nile floods, the Chinese merchant visiting the western limits of the Silk Road close to Rome, the first American family to make it to the MidWest after a perilous roadtrip, each person who live for it's culture contributes to history even if they dont show in the books.

    Thinking about it but couldn't sort of get a America for the Exploration Age? We sort of can but it would have to be called New England and be from the time of the Mayflower up to the Revolutionary War. Back when the first 13 colonies were still a part of Great Britain. I guess the problem would be what it would look like and who can you use as potential leaders from that time period

It really doesn't matter if you call me Estado-Unidense or whatever in your language, that term DOES NOT EXIST in English. We call ourselves American. Complain to the translation team if your Spanish Portuguese or French translations of Civ 7 say Americano and not whatever the proper term is, but don't mess with it in English. If you are not from the US, there is zero chance you call yourself "American", that's like saying you're "European" or "African", overly broad identities that do not exist.

      @@Korvisio no-one is denying the term "American" for Americans. What people are denying is just calling the country America. Instead of its actual name, the USA, which you claim doesn't exist. You're openly claiming the name USA does not exist and is using "American" as a strawman to deflate your idiotic point.
      Just because people don't identify as European or African first, does not mean those identities do not exist. Can an American not be American and Texan? If i ask someone from California where they are from, and they say they're American, i guess that would mean Californian also doesn't exist by your logic.

    • @Korvisio
      @Korvisio 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@Sondrebol I never said the name USA does not exist. However, you will find that very few Americans will say the full name of the country in practice, just as very few Mexicans will say the full name of their country. It just makes colloquial sense to call us America. Californian and Texan culture falls under the broader umbrella of American (USA) culture, and the USA, being a unified state with international borders, is culturally distinct from the rest of the continent. What is the broader "American" (the continent) culture in your opinion? What is "African" or "European"? These are such broad descriptors, they're terrible.

      It is America, though. You're thinking of "The Americas". Not exactly a clear name when compared with The Americas, but I don't see a problem with this in the game and think it's not a fruitful "issue". The Aztecs aren't referred to as Central Americans anywhere, so I don't see a problem.
      Furthermore, "The United States of American Empire" is unnecessarily long and doesn't sound right, and in UI short strings help immensely. Also for RP element, what if the player only has one city, are they a group of states which are united? Lol, just to give some thoughts.

      @@fuzzychewbacca In English from the UK, it's more common to say America for the whole continent. Because from the European point of view, which is also reflected in other European languages (French, my own, but I believe also in Italian, German...), America is singular and designates both north and south America. Americas in plural exists, but is not supreme - in French it's a bit old-school, like "Indias".
      Now I get we're talking about English denominations here, but even in the Oxford English Dictionary or other references, it shows that America to designate the whole continent is customary in UK English.
