I spent like a day researching it when i first new about it a couple years ago. So, seeing this puzzle for the first time really made me happy. For once playing a ZE game I can say: "Yes! I know of this problem!" makes me feel smart ya know
@@donavonheim559 It's easiest to understand if you increase the number of doors to 100 or so. Once you pick a door, your chances of being right are 1/100, yeah? That means your chances of being correct by picking "every other door at once" are 99/100. This is true regardless of whether the other doors have been opened or not, or how many of them have been. The trick is essentially that the percentages don't actually change from the initial 1/100, even if we're inclined to think they go to 1/2. It's a bit counterintuitive!
the reason, why this is the case is because the lockers that are opened after your first decision aren't random. And that fact influences the odds of the remaining closed locker being the "winning" one.
saaame! for me, thinking of it on a larger scale didn't quite help, but thinking about 3 doors as a set of 2 doors and 1 door helped. That and knowing higher probability does not necessarily mean certainty
This was the puzzle room theme I easily stopped and took notice of. The others were great, but this one literally made me stop playing for a minute to enjoy how awesome it is, especially when those strings come in. One of my fave tracks of the whole game!
It was also present in VLR, and at a moment so very important. That music came pretty much as a relief given the tension present in the timeline it's featured in.
The original is meant to feel empty and hollow. You and Phi are the only two alive with all the facilities' knowledge at your fingers, and the original reinforces the foreboding given by having all the answers yet none of them at the same time
I know right? Most of the music is just "This is nice background music, it fits." Apart from the infirmary which was creepy yet still fitting. As soon as 1:35 Kicked in I was like, "Woah shit, this is awesome?!?" Like, I was in the middle of remembering something for a puzzle and I completely forgot it because I was taken aback at the music.
Actually, I think it's electronica music with a touch of new age for the string arrangements, if you like that, go listen to tangerine dream or mike oldfield, I'm sure you will find something interesting there.
To those saying the original mix sounds empty without the strings from this mix, I'd have to disagree.. The strings add life to this mix, but the bass is turned down significantly. In the original, the bass (and percussion) drive the music at the drop. But instead of pronounced strings, you have slow synth pads in the background, adding a sense of spaciousness to the mix. Comparing the two, it seems to me that this mix is more "human." There's more emotion, probably because of the strings. The original mix seems like it's lost its soul a bit--it's robotic. If you remember where the original mix was played, it's actually quite fitting. Now after reading the first sentence in this paragraph, I realize I kind of just contradicted myself.
I haven't played the game that this song is from. I got here from finding this song in a video essay and oh my gosh it is gorgeous! I've been listening to it while writing to set the mood. It's actually getting me a bit interested in the game!

Track Name: Quondam Monitors (Remix of [VLR] Monitor) Team: C-Team Fragment: Monty Hall Room: Control Characters: Carlos, Junpei, and Akane Decision Game: CHOOSE A LOCKER
I just noticed… I think the title of this song is actually supposed to be "Quondam Monitors" with an "a". It's spelled incorrectly in the mini OST files, but correctly on the official Steam page's track list. I'm pretty sure the latter one is the correct spelling because "Quondom" with an "o" is not even a real word lol.
i need help here, haven't played the game came accross the audio as bg music in some video on TH-cam and the part at 1:35 that everyone keeps mentioning reminds me of something, some ost of some show or game or maybe classical music but it's just something that feels like should be very well known but i can't seem to figure it out so, does anyone know what that part is inspired by? or what it probably inspired? and song or music that has that same bit that starts at 1:35
I know this isn't what you're looking for, but this song is a remix of a previous song in the franchise called "Monitor" from Virtue's Last Reward. Maybe you could find some luck looking into that song?
I was so mad when I approached the Monty Hall decision with the right mindset but got screwed over by the 10% even after switching haha
It happened the same thing to me, it was pretty frustrating but fitting of the whole "bad luck and unfair" theme of the game
Yall get it. What a glorious game.
life is simply unfair, don't you think?
I spent a good 2 hours trying to comprehend Monty Hall after this room.

Rec room theme was pretty good too
This is the first room I picked as C team. Hearing the sadness in the string section was perfect for conveying Junpei and Akane's frayed relationship

This one's my favorite too. Glad to see that it has other fans. : )
+Ginger Dwarf When it kicks in, it kicks in your teeth. The composer really understand ambience and atmosphere..
Exactly.
+Ginger Dwarf my experience was the opposite of yours, it actually helped me think further instinctually that I didn't notice it..

when you here this in game and you're like "Do I have to play Sudoku AGAIN?"
Pretty sure Morphogenetic Sorrow is the sudoku theme
I honestly think that D-Team was the best team. Diana was a great addition to the already great Phi and Sigma
I'd think a better way of saying it is that Phi was a great addition for Sigma and Diana.
Bullet spoiler without context
It really was the best team. I liked D Team most, then C team, and Q team last.
I liked Q Team far more than the other two teams combined. D Team's in second place, though.
I loved all the teams, though admittedly Q’s has the least love coming from me. Eric is annoying as hell but Mira and Sean make up for it 10 fold imo
