Hi guys, your average Singaporean here. Thank you for being absolutely honest. Kind of sick of hearing foreigners and supporters of the powers that be claiming how “successful and wealthy” Singapore is but conveniently overlooking the elephant in the room. Which is the widening Rich Poor social class divide.
You guys nailed it in the head when others claim Singapore is a “great” place to do business because employers CAN & WILL financially shortchange their employees. Overworked and Underpaid is the norm. The Unions & Ministry Of Manpower here are generally for Window Dressing or they usually speak on behalf of the company instead of for Workers. So that title of being the “best” place for business is meaningless to Singaporeans whom are struggling to make ends meet…

I agree overworked and underpaid is the norm. But I will also like to point out there is somsthing weird about the attitude of Singaporeans. And it seems that they enjoyed this situation as they like to brag about how "overworked" and "underpaid" they are. And it seems the more it is so, the stronger they feel it is their bragging rights and can't wait to tell everyone about how exploited they are. All the while refusing to correct their situation by changing a job which they are free to do so, as Singapore is not like Japan or Korea where life-long loyalty is expected.

"Rich" only meant for gov. not Singapore civilians. Low employment for locals (S'porean). 👎👎👎This lady mentioned here cannot representing Singapore Civilians & not right cos' she may be FT anyhow talked here !

If a government is poor, the civilians will suffer as it has no money to do the necessary things.

@@WumingBoshi-oe9yu3ib7pNow Singapore Rich ..GV never shared with Rich to Civilians ..! In the past 30 yrs ago, Singapore hasn't developed...we Civilians contributed the most to Singapore! They got conscience to Singaporeans? If u're PR, u got no right to say too much here cos' u never encountered our contribution histories!

@@jeapika8092 , Singapore have developed greatly in the past 30 years . The government shares the wealth in many ways. Clearly you do not see them. The locals usually do not notice the gradual changes. In many countries, roads are poorly maintained. The streets and buildings are dirty. Their governments do not have funds to provide adequate services. For examples, UK government cut the services, providing less police to deal with crimes. Waiting time for hospital appointment is long.
