While Singapore is expensive, there are places that are practically free to go. This Californian did an excellent tourist guide of Singapore this year, and in one of the days, he only spent USD25 for the entire day in Singapore (including meals). ---> th-cam.com/video/HyL1rO8BTU8/w-d-xo.html
It is true that the more touristy places are expensive, but if you visit out of the city neighborhoods (what locals call heartlands) you'd be surprised at how affordable things are (relatively). Not only that, if you ask the locals in those neighborhoods, they'd prolly be able to tell you what places you can get to visit in those areas, many which are not featured by the more "'touristy" Singapore videos. One local, who is actually Japanese (he hailed from Osaka, but has now migrated to Singapore) is TH-camr Ghib Ojisan..he has done several local videos of Singapore, particularly of the heartlands which are worth watching if you have the time.
Incidentally, Newton Hawker Center is targeted at tourists, you can prolly get better and cheaper food elsewhere in Singapore :)
Zoo, night safari, bird paradise, science museum????? Seems a shame that these places got sidelined by jewel & gardens- by-the-bay.

Singapore is a great clean city. But one thing i wanted to comment is sentosa island : it isn't the tip of mainland asia ya. Coz it is an island. Not mainland asia.
