"As with many Chinese companies, ByteDance has an internal Chinese Communist Party (CCP) committee with Vice President Zhang Fuping serving as the company's CCP Committee Secretary".

Moreover, Taiwan also doesn't allow dual citizenship for naturalised foreigners, but if you are of special contribution, you are allowed to keep.your original nationality. So, let me ask you, are you sure Singapore doesn't have this kind of provision for some important people? Are you sure Zhou is not eligible for this special treatment? I bet you don't know. Neither does the senator, that's why he has to ask! (I bet he doesn't even know Singapore doesn't allow dual citizenship.) Get it?

Few facts for Harvard's graduates: 1) Dual citizenship is not allowed in Singapore. If you are becoming a US or China citizen, you would be asked to surrender SG citizenship. 2) Only Chinese citizens are eligible to apply for CCP. 3) Foreigners can not serve in military in Singapore.
Only for spies it's allowed. Many Chinese spies actually hold different passports. When they get busted and flee to China, Chinese government gives them Chinese passport for their service. Or executes them because they failed at spying... Whatever is more convenient.

@@mightyhabib1182 do you mean an adult as opposed to how America behaves like a deeply insecure teenage girl? "Oh my god......do you have ties to China? China China China.." lol. Good grief the degree to which China lives rent free in America's head is hilarious.
Sooooo...are you Chinese or Japanese?
LOL, he should probably have mentioned that Singaporean adults cannot have dual citizenship, unlike USA. Minors under 21 can, but must renounce the other to retain Singapore citizenship. I suspect the senator doesn't realise that?
well then, if dual nationality is permitted in the US and the senator being more familiar with whats permitted in his own very fine nation, the senator should have asked that first
I doubt the senator knows where Singapore is, he's american remember
Lol. I bet the furthest he traveled is Mexico.
Most American can only speak one language and I bet most of them will fail the citizenship test. Ms. Randhawa is a clear example when asked about the civil war. Some of Congress members do not know that the Constitution has been amended not once, twice but 27 times (last being on Congressional Compensation). Do you think this bozo know anything about Singapore? He probably has a hard time pointing to where Singapore is on the map
you'd be surprised how many singaporeans have dual citizenship , they just hush hush about the matter.
Senator: "The Chinese said 'what?' "
CEO: "What?"
Senator: "We've got him!"
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣
😂😂😂
😭😭
"Are you chinese"
"No senator im Singaporean"
"Have you eaten chinese take-out?"
"Yes, Senator"
"Thats chinese enough for me"
Even Chew Shou Zi is confused, his face reads “Is this senator this stupid?”
Chew's expression says it all. It's like is this guy for real? He's really having a tough time believing anyone can be this embarrassingly ignorant.
@jimijin2020 the fact he is smiling and feels like he wants to laugh got me
This dude needs a lesson on geography.
Or respect
Forget geography, he should learn logic first
lesson to open google maps firts
I was once asked if KL was near Beijing 🤡
Americans are not known for their geography knowledge.
How can this senator be in a position to lead and how do others allow him to continue questioning??!!
Connections, I guess
welcome to politics
the other people just like, yep nothings wrong here
You've heard of Biden right?
He went to Harvard
Him: " I'm from singapore."
US: " Does your mom know you're chinese?"
I remember some studies said about 37% americans don't know which city is the capital of their own country, I thought it was just a joke, now I begin to think otherwise.
sosial experiment says 73% instead
😂👍
Soo true. One young American was asked this question. Answer: Texas! 🙈
Not 37, it’s 73% and they interviewed people who walking in Beverly Hills streets looking
Haha! Awesome!
Soooo. Which part is not understood? That he's Singaporean, or that HE'S SINGAPOREAN? Does he not know where Singapore is?
He’s Singaporean working for the CHINA COMMUNIST PARTY
He probably thinks Singapore is a city in china or something
As far as I know. The only city within a country that has their own passport is Vatican City. So for this "genius" to keep reinforcing his stupidity with his ignorant questions is beyond absurd.
American: So are ya Chinese or Japanese?
Asian: I'm Laotian.
American:....so are ya Chinese or Japanese?
Isn’t it interesting that one of the world’s largest social media companies is Chinese controlled, yet has a Singaporean CEO? Things that make you go 🤔
Goddamn ! 🤯 where can I sign the petition to have that senator removed? 😲
that cutton is the exact point where racist people always barks in the fight that said "i'm not racist" bullsh*t.
Just a reminder that in America just because you can get a position, it does not mean you are qualified for it.
If that was grilling, the cook forgot to light the coals 😂
a very subtle insult.
that would've made it on reddit under r/rareinsults.
Im sorry random internet person but im stealing this. Im adding it to my lexicon of clever insults. Thank you for your big beautiful brain.
That was slick 😂
He forgot the heat source
😂😂😂
This is my states senator… I am so sorry
Damn
I feel sorry for you. Come to Singapore, you don't have to deal with this kind of fuckery
@@ghcheongHahaha! 🙏🏻🤣
@@ghcheongnah
Sorry, you dropped this: *'*
American racism on full display.
I think this is ignorance versus racism.
@@1970rscNo, ignorance is when you don't have complete information. The senator was told he wasn't Chinese 3 times and then decided to ask again, lol
Not really racism when it's just their culture jaja
@@porlarazonoporlafuerza6424 It can be both :)
The topic of race was never brought up, the fact that you think it did says a lot about your mindset.
-Are you Chinese?
+No sir I'm Singaporean
-Why?
"Have you ever heard of China?"
-Yes, but still, I'm Singap-
"Ha, we've got him gentlemen."
"hey...chinesemansayswhat?"
