- The Enterprise 1701-C is back! This time it's being released in a translucent white plastic that's perfect for lighting. It includes lots of battle damage decals, and extra parts to make it the Enterprise C or the U.S.S. Yamaguchi.

I just picked this model up today. I'm so excited to get started on it. Enterprise C is also my favorite enterprise :)
Clear edition is USS Yamaguchi from AMT. This is the Translucent version. I own two of the Yamaguchi clear kits and ordered the Enterprise C today.
The old enterprise ncc 1701-C. Enter service in 2332 - 2344(destroyed). She was a good ship. It does have several novels on the ship adventures.
wonderful review I look forward to building this model
I really appreciate you doing this. I can’t wait to get my own.
Thanks for the detailed look, especially the bit about space for the wiring.
I'm glad we no longer have to deal with fiber optics like on the old AMT kit.
8:50 Actually, those grid lines are not accurate. Rock Sternbach designed the ship to have a standard number of shield grid lines. Similar to the Refit Enterprise, and the Excelsior.
If you look at the painting instructions for the original release of the 'C', the grid lines shown there are based on Rick Sternbach's studio blueprints.
I asked him why the model has so many freaking grid lines and he said he didn't know. But his drawings do not have that many lines. They need to be filled in to be accurate to the design. 😊
Great episode. Neat new release. Thank you for sharing.
Be Excellent and Party on. 🤘🎸😎🌈
Nice, have to get this one
Very excited for this kit! I hope they do a translucent 1701-D soon, too.
More like reissue that kit
That pearlescent plastic gives it the effect of iridescent aztec panels
Very nice! Definitely want to add this to my fleet, and having worked with that translucent plastic with my Voyager project, would be excited to try this kit with lights. Hoping this comes to a new 1:1400 Enterprise D and E kit in the near future, and maybe a 1:1000 Enterprise B, so I can have all the Enterprises. (Evil laugh)
One thing you missed are the instructions, btw. Thanks for showing off the kit, if I ever build it, it will be as Excalibur or Zukhov, as I already have Enterprise and Yamaguchi in my Fleet.
M'Kenzy Calhoun's ship from New Frontiers USS Excalibur replaced later on with the Galaxy Class USS Excalibur. G-Cals make a good decal set for the Ambassador class ships.
@@michaelbenjmitchell1 Yeah, I would build Calhoun's Excalibur. But I am not sure whether there ever was a Galaxy Class Excalibur.
@@slighter There was later on in the book series after the Ambassador class Excalibur was destroyed. Don't remember which book the Galaxy class Excalibur appeared in but Calhoun commanded the new Excalibur and his wife Elizabeth Shelby commanded the sister ship.
I just got an amt 1 /1400 Enterprise- C Model , I’m Excited about it ! , has anyone heard if their were ever going to be anymore 1 /1400 Scale Model Star Ships coming out ?
I wonder if the battle damage and the rest of the decals are the same as the 2010 release of the ship. The box is beautiful. I like the new Star Trek Universe artwork. Glad their using translucent plastic. With this release, it's only a matter of time before the 1:1400 D is released in the same kind of plastic.
Yeah they look the same, I did the 2010 release a few months ago.
Still not 100% convinced about the translucent plastic rather than clear but great video, thank you! Where did you get the model, I thought it hadn't been released yet
I have the original release of this kit. May pick up the new one as well. I loved the "Yesterday's Enterprise" episode from TNG, but for some reason I've never been able to really like the design of this ship. While it harkens back to the original design in some respects, I always thought it was meant to be a throw away design for a single episode. I felt a little more thought could have gone into the design.
Did they include alternate pieces to build the Yamaguchi? Also the original mold had innacurate panel lines sculpted on tge secondary hull. Hope they fixed them but probably not.
Yes the alternate parts are in this kit
