Ahhh this is my Subbie Super! I’m the Stephanie that submitted this! 🥰 Girl, this made my day (week… month… maybe even year!) thank you so much for picking it. My grandma would be BEAMING! She made Pastina so many different ways, many that are in the comments, and it makes my heart happy it brought back memories for many and you’re bringing it to new tables as well ❤ SO glad you guys enjoyed it! This made me smile ear to ear. We made it last night actually cause Nic was feeling sick. Also, I hope Tabby and her boys ended up getting some 😉 Thank you Mandy, for being a staple in mine and so many others homes and bringing such yummy food to our tables ❤
Oh my goodness! Pastina! My Nana used to make this for me as an after school snack! She made it exactly this way! I miss my Nana so much but I try to carry on with her recipes. She would also sometimes make escarole soup which begins like the pastina . It’s really hard to find escarole in my area. Thank you and Stephanie for making my day! Oh- almost forgot about- some grated Parmesan on top is delicious! 🌻😊
Mandy, we will never be upset with Gracie Lou being vocal! We’re all happy to hear her chatter and 99% of us yell out “GIVE HER CHEESE!” every time we hear her. 😂
I have a male cat he is beautiful years ago my friend showed up here with 2 a male and female she took the female. We named them Bonnie and Clyde. Clyde is not fixed but he a great cat guards our home and stays here on property. Anyway I guess it's that time of year there is 6:cats female's trying to hunt him down he in the dog house he is tired. Ha ha ha
I may have missed it in your merchandise but I think a great t-shirt with : That's a Go-backer would be great. I certainly would buy one. If everyone agrees, let them know in these Comments....
I have made pastina before, but never blended the veggies. I will definitely do that next time. Try adding a parmesan rind into the broth and letting it simmer until it becomes gelatinous, then discard. Takes it over the top! As Steven said, it's such a comforting soup❤
Thank you for this one, I was having a down day and you and Steven made it alot better. I am trying the Air Fryer Asparagus recipe the way you did it, it looks so good. God Bless you all
I made the Italian Penicillin Soup tonight. I used orzo since I had it in my pantry. It was so amazing! I cooked the pasta in the broth. I think next time I will cook it separately as it absorbs a lot of the broth. I will def be making this again. I think I will use my immersion blender next time too.
Husband got sick with a croupy cough. Made the Italian penicillin soup and it made him feel better! Gave the recipe to our daughter and she loved it as well!
I just had major surgery and I asked my daughter to make this for me and YES you do feel batter after this soup! Thank you Mandy and Subbie supper recipe ♥️
You guys are so funny and brightened my day. Woke up with a sore throat and sniffles. Wish someone would bring me that soup!! 😂 We love shrimp over rice, going to try that. Thanks for more yummy recipes!! 💜
I didn't have shellfish until i was 21 because my dad is very very allergic. My folks were scared i would be too. I finally tried it and love shrimp and scallops. I can't have them at home (I live with my folks). I'd love to try that recipe though.
I'm allergic to Shellfish so the first recipe is a No Go! Sorry Mandy! Well, maybe I could use Chicken! The other 2 looks really good! I've made a Chicken noodle Veggie Soup like this minus the Chicken of course but I used a different Pasta! I blended my Veggies just like this. It is delicious especially if you're sick and you have a child that don't like veggies! I was blessed with 2! I don't know where they come from bc their Dad n I eat every kind of veggie we can with just a couple I don't eat! I'm allergic to Mushrooms and Olives also! Crazy! Thank you Mandy! I love your channel with your choices of recipes! I recommended you to my 3 Granddaughters! I Know they'll love you!
My 10 year old begged for the Italian Penicillin for dinner tonight. She decided it's better than any chicken noodle soup she's ever had. Thanks for making me a rock star mom.
Mandy, if you are interested, save the aspargus ends and the stalk of the broccoli as well as any other veggies parts (celery ends, carrot skin, onion skin, etc.) to make a homemade stock. I personally peel the broccoli stalk, chop it up and cook it off with the florets.
I always take the tails off when making a shrimp scampi type of dish. I know that for some recipes, like BBQ shrimp NOLA style you would want to have whole body shrimp, or at least keep the tails for added flavor. Love you both and look forward to your new videos each week. I need to do a subbie supper one time!!
That’s is Pastina I as well cooked this for my children, my mother in law was Italian, an amazing lady that had 14 children and her husband died before my husband was born (the youngest of the 14 she had in 20 years). We would add egg to it and then add milk, perfect for babies and if you are feeling well! You mentioned a 10 pound baby, my son was 9 lbs 15 oz!! A big boy 😂😂
Girl.... I've been having Cozy Coffee every afternoon since I saw you make it!! It's the perfect pick me up drink!! Thanks to you and those two nuts you live with for ALWAYS making me laugh!! 👍🤓❣️
Your second meal. Beef and broccoli,,,, I almost do the same thing except for. I use Ramen instead of rice and I add dried chili peppers 🌶 and make a Seshwahn sauce.... my wifey got me an electric wok.... love your channel and video's... how can I send you my recipe for a subby supper
I heard my Italian/American friends refer to pastina as Italian penicillin because their Nonna's and Mama's would make it when they were sick. *** Lol I didn't finish watching before I wrote this comment. YUM! I'm half Italian too, and I want to know why my mom and/or older sister, aunts... never made Italian penicillin!? That looks phenomenal 😍😋. I've actually never had that type of pasta either 😮. Gonna have to make that!🤓

Poor Gracie with there being slim picking on cheese lately. At least she did get bread and trusts things will improve soon. (Just kidding - it all looks so yummy. Cannot wait to try the hamburger broccoli recipe.)
But the tails are perfectly fine to eat so it really doesn’t matter how you’re actually eating the shrimp. It has more to do with cooking. The tail/shell supposedly can add more flavor and helps to sort of encapsulate the meat of the shrimp with whatever sauces you’re cooking it in, therefore, infusing more flavor into the meat.

Pastina is known as "Italian baby food" It is one of the 1st foods I ate my mom & grandmother told me. No teeth needed. LOL!!It brings back great memories whenever I eat it. The more grated parm in the broth the better!!
We do garlic butter shrimp but we put it over jasmine rice and it absorbs all that yummy liquid. Soo good. Y’all should try that next time !! It all looks so good. Thanks for sharing your recipes.
Im crazy about shrimp, and it is so quick and easy to cook, but the catch for me is the deveining. I buy shrimp already split for easy peeling and it always says its deveined but usually its only been partially, like one side is deveined, being aware of this it always takes alot of additionally teadious time. Does anyone else struggle with this too, and do you have any tips for better cleaning?😊
Yes, if I have to clear that "stuff" out then it's over for me. I only buy the kind where shell, tail and stuff is already gone and it's cooked already. 🚫🦐😄
Unfortunately, I am on a very low sodium diet. Six large raw shrimp have 1080 mg of sodium, which is more than my daily allowance. I was amazed how much sodium it has until I realized that seafood lives in salt water.
I love watching the three of you trying new dishes. Side note, my mother lost her teeth at a very young age and her jaw was broken in the process. As hard as she tried she could never wear dentures, but she ate everything just fine without them. At 29, Iost my teeth due to an illness but have never had a problem with dentures. The shrimp would be my favorite from today.

My Italian family makes something similar to this soup with the Pastina. It’s a mighty little pasta so delicious going to try this recipe for sure 😋❤️‼️
It all looks good. I got a few good things to share. I was told at one of the apartments that I applied for that I could be in an apartment in 3 to 4 months. But the best news I got today when I woke up was that my Son and his fiance both were Baptist on Sunday. I've never been so proud and happy for them both. 🙏 Have a great week. 😊
Hi everyone, Italian penicillin, 💝💝💝💝💝. my grandmother also did just broth , dropped an egg like Chinese egg drop soup, than a pat of butter .and grated cheese. Yummmmm to this recipe 😋😋😋
Take the tails off if you don’t want to eat them with your fingers. The tails make no flavor difference except if you use them and the shell and cook for a while to make a stock. And as the self-proclaimed President of the Gracie Lou Fan Club, I say GET THAT KITTY SOME CHEESE PLEASE!

Is there anything else I can use as I don't have sesame oil...
Lol mutley and tater show and gracey said nooo to the Qsants
My Italian family makes something similar to this soup with the Pastina. It’s a mighty little pasta so delicious going to try this recipe for sure 😋❤️‼️
It all looks good. I got a few good things to share. I was told at one of the apartments that I applied for that I could be in an apartment in 3 to 4 months. But the best news I got today when I woke up was that my Son and his fiance both were Baptist on Sunday. I've never been so proud and happy for them both. 🙏 Have a great week. 😊
Pastina with just butter is wonderful
I love you earrings Mandy! Do you mind sharing where you got them?
Hi everyone, Italian penicillin, 💝💝💝💝💝. my grandmother also did just broth , dropped an egg like Chinese egg drop soup, than a pat of butter .and grated cheese. Yummmmm to this recipe 😋😋😋
I love that shirt! I need one- LOL Do you have a link?
Homebody yes I need one too!
The first time I saw him do that "you don't need TEETH!" thing, I burst out laughing😂
Me too. I laughed out loud!!! So funny!
Did you de-turd the shrimp first? 😳
