Thanks for sharing! I'm trying a magnetic mount for the first time & I love this idea of a "semi-permanent" way to attach the magnet without damaging your phone. Genius!!
Really glad it helped and thank you for your comment and support my friend. 🙏 It really is a game changer. Since the first time I can never go back. All my phones both iPhone and Android all have them. 💯💪🔥
I keep having the same issue where the plate (identical rectangular one ) isnt strong enough to hold onto the phone mount on the car. it cant hold the 220 grams of the phone. If i use a case with a metal plate built into it, it holds fine but the case itself isnt nearly as good as the other one I have that I actually want to mount.
The smaller circular plate might work above or below the center of the phone and still be able to wirelessly charge. You'd have to test it out and see but I would try my best to keep magnets out of the equation when wirelessly charging the phone. I could be wrong about this but seems like a "just to be safe" good idea. 🙏
When you fix it on the inside of the case you lose 40% of magnetic power and phones with heavier cases will keep dropping on the car floor on bumps etc. Fixing it to the outer side is better

Will this work if you have a charger that charges through the back of the phone?

I agree. Some of my clients really like their cases smooth on the outside tho so I guess it's a trade off sometimes. 🙏
Electrical tape wont last long on sunny day
What if your case is clear? You don’t want the black electrical tape showing,
My case is clear, no need for the tape. My case holds the magnet completely stable.
