Here is a summary if you want to copy it somewhere after watching the video!
    [During classes]
    1) Eliminate distractions: electronic devices away, even stay away from friends if needed (that way you have already seen the material once when you start studying)
    2) Take great notes: by hand rather than with a computer, in a hierarchical manner rather than just a list, and paraphrase rather than copying word by word what the professor says (these techniques will improve retention and comprehension)
    [3 to 7 days out]
    3) Cheat sheet: On one sheet front and back write all the important concepts you need to know for this subject and try to explain them to yourself
    4) Practice: problems and mock exams until you feel confident with concepts
    [1 day out]
    5) Arbitrage: If you studied well, focus on resting, and having a healthy lifestyle (exercise, food, etc.). Cramming will only deplete your brain from the energy it needs during the exam. If you haven't studied much, you can consider studying more.
    [D-day]
    6) Get your mindset right: competitive and playful."It's time to show off all the work you've put in."
    ----
Thank you, John, I'll try these this term and let you know how it went!

      .

@The Darkner Supreme uh, What's philosophy and do you actually think about your own existence and the meaning itself? Lol wat.
      .
Besides that, I don't study Sosiology, advanced history, etc. Basically all lessons that mainly focuses on memorization skill. In my place, when you enter highschool you'll be given 2 choice to major.
      .
First one is related to science ( physics, chemistry, biology, advanced math)
Second one is related to memorization (sosiology, advanced history, etc. Don't know much)
And besides that 10 other subjects that both major gets, such as religion, english-indonesia-japanish language, art, P.E, and math.

What I see the best part about these videos. John Fish, you speak as though you want to help others, you are passionate about it. I am not watching some clickbait video tagline to find some basic information, although some may have them, most have information unique to you, it makes it beautiful and strong. Lastly, I have found that you would encourage others to watch something like this, write something, do something once a day to motivate yourself, as some may think it is stupid or useless, but actually, it is truly important to staying happy and successful. Keep it up my friend, stay fresh, and admire the waves.

Heyy John I’m a junior college student studying in Singapore. First of all I feel so lucky to find your channel and learn all the tips and advices that I really need. I’m now 67 days away from my Midyear exams and around 6 months away from my Alevel. After watching your videos I have decided to quit TH-cam for the next 80 days and come back to comment what I get for my Midyear exam. After commenting about the grades I will stay away from TH-cam again and focus on the rest for my Alevel. My goal for Alevel is to get all A, I know it is very difficult especially for an art student plus the fact that English is not my first language. However, I’m motivated to challenge myself and achieve what is perceived as nearly impossible. I will come back again after I get my results back February next year cause I think being accountable is really important. Lastly, I want to thank you again for motivating me and inspiring me to pursue better and higher goals in my life.

I am also a straight-A college student, and I must say that I wholeheartedly agree with every single detail in this video. John is seriously spot on in every aspect, especially when he talked about getting a healthy amount of sleep the night before an exam. Trust us, it’s far more important to sleep well before an exam, than to put sleep off in order to cram.

Thanks for this! I'm studying for a radiology exam that I need for my dental assisting job and these concepts help a lot. I've learned a few techniques from the dentist but concepts and anatomy I will be tested on are things I taught myself by reading books and searching TH-cam. It was tough to find a method of studying that worked for me since I've been out of school for awhile and I'm learning on my own. Hoping that passing this will be the first step in a new career. I'm hoping to go to dental hygiene school after this and if I enjoy that who knows maybe I'll try for dental school. Thank you again!!

I really liked your comment about creating the 'crib sheet' or cheat sheet. An outline of the various topics about to be covered. From there, you can then focus on specific sections and work on those a week out - focusing on doing problems.

I don't think you could call this a vlog because 90% of the video was about the school section but I loved it! I found it really useful and it brought me a lot more value than just showing the day.

First off greetings from Germany. Your content really helped me stepping up my game. Appreciate your content and keep up the great work. Personally I would like to see a bit more of what is going on around you in your vlogs rather than this relatively long part of you explaining.

^^ I agree completely with this ... for STEM classes. If you are in a humanities, writing heavy, and discussion based class- take notes on your computer. This will allow you to take more notes and faster- also you can more easily navigate and search for certain ideas. These classes aren’t structured, so having a document on your computer allows you to control f - that way you aren’t combing through the minutia of unrelated thoughts.

I have no clue if that makes sense, I’m just kinda sleepy so I hope you know what I’m talking about haha! You really impacted me in a good way, I just took the PSATs and I watched a video of yours right before it and it was about tests and wow I’m pretty sure I did much better after watching!! Yes I know this is a run-on but, I’m known for going onto tantrums, that’s how I think 🤷‍♀️

I’m a 16 year old student in Sweden, a country with a fucked up grading system were it’s close to impossible to score an A in any class in the gymnasium. The gymnasium is said to be harder than high school but easier than the university. Anyhow, my dream is to go to Columbia and I’m working my ass of to get there, you’re my biggest inspiration.
