If you want to check out the book I'm reading, by Steven Pinker, I highly recommend it: amzn.to/2CZUJSs Also: don't have the idea in your mind that I'm a robot because I plan some days carefully. I explained this in a reply to another comment, but essentially the goal of planning like this is to reduce the background noise in my mind. If I'm able to make a plan that allows me to do everything that I need to do, then I can find time to do things like get coffee with friends and not have to worry about the fact that I'm "wasting time"... because I have a plan that I know will let me achieve what I want to achieve. This allows me to be more in the present and reduces stress for me. I also don't plan every day like this. I didn't plan anything formally today, like most Saturdays, I just went where the day took me and chilled out. Rest is super important. tl;dr: I plan meticulously so that when I'm on, I'm on, and when I'm off, I'm off.
Thank you for your vlog. It was amazing! As a Student myself (and also someone who shares your mindset on planning) I find this refreshing. Sometimes we literally need to see someone else doing what we want to do to get back on track. Now I'm (hopefully) off to study! haha. Take care and keep the good work! :D

I'm a grad student across the river at BU (hello, neighbor!), but I still watch your videos for organizational tips haha. I read some comments suggesting that being so scheduled makes one's life too predictable/boring. I find it just the opposite. When I am properly scheduled, my life opens up. I can actually do MORE fun things because my core priorities are already taken care of. When it's noon and I've already done my workout, class work, and house chores, I can say yes to dinner out that night, or stay in and binge Netflix without worrying about still needing to do this or that. It's worth it to be so organized like yourself. You're obviously going to be (and already are) very successful in life because of it!

Thanks a million man!😊😊
Really love this video. Your intellectual growth is infectious. I wish I found this channel as a freshman in high school, because it probably would have inspired me to work harder and try to get into Harvard. Instead I spent most of high school smoking cigarettes in the woods, acting like a dumbass degenerate. Now I'm 21 years old, still stranded in this godforsaken small town in Ohio, with few economic prospects. Your discipline and work ethic is inspiring
You are motivating me to do the things that i was afraid of, the things that i have to do to be mental healthy and fit. I had to thank you for these videos. It's changing my life...
Dear John, Thank you so much, for your „white noise“-studying music tip (among other), in one of your earlier videos. I‘m in my final year of Med school in EU and had forgotten - as exams got easier/ more vague - just how detrimental studying with music really is for my (already poor) concentration, and after humming along to classical music, would end up just singing songs and memorizing lyrics in different languages - because why not x.x Anyway you‘ve helped me immensly focussing again, on what - next to „joie-de-vie“ - is truly important to me!

Couldn't agree more, I can never live like that. We are human beings, not robots, Jesus Christ.

I would literally loooooove to see "study with me" videos on your channel! You're so motivational!
The motivation part of your book is more motivating than when you read it. Most important part
Hi John. I love this day in the life vlog format. Please do more of this.
this dude's flexing so hard w the pinker name lol
My favourite video of yours so far! Love this!
That voice, got kinda deep
Cold air + different mic. Or I went through puberty again. Not sure...
Yeah, makes sense.
Wait... You replied to my comment
You are my favourite youtuber, have a nice day
@@thejohnfish maybe you haven't fully awake in the morning 😜
John I love learning how to plan the day and execute it better from you. I figure this...If I learn it now in high school and then college, then as an adult later with a family to protect, a career to navigate and a mortgage to pay it will all be that much easier and successful, and I won't end up an exhausted zombie like way too many adults who never learned to plan well.
Your discipline and work ethic is inspiring
omg I live for these super productive cinematic vlog videos
I have the same coffee maker thing you have. Harvard here I come!
i bought the notebook and I am so pleased thank you John for making these videos. You really inpire me.
Those tea and coffee making introductions ❤️happy that you upgraded to the new iPhone
Ps:John I’m an old viewer and we used to talk on Instagram
When ever I don't want to do any homework, I just watch one of your videos and then I takes me motivated
WOW it’s so unbelievable watching your VLOG. Anyway happy China Spring festival
You are motivating me to do the things that i was afraid of, the things that i have to do to be mental healthy and fit. I had to thank you for these videos. It's changing my life...
Woah! your handwriting is pretty awesome 5:14

Do you ever feel tired or restricted scheduling activities one after another?
Dude I literally see your comments while scrolling everytime I watch something on youtube. We have many channels that we watch in common. 😂
Habiba Afrose Then you must have good taste in videos ;)
Dear John,
Thank you so much, for your „white noise“-studying music tip (among other), in one of your earlier videos.
I‘m in my final year of Med school in EU and had forgotten - as exams got easier/ more vague - just how detrimental studying with music really is for my (already poor) concentration, and after humming along to classical music, would end up just singing songs and memorizing lyrics in different languages - because why not x.x
Anyway you‘ve helped me immensly focussing again, on what - next to „joie-de-vie“ - is truly important to me!
When he said that 'Steven Pinker' was going to take his class, I was like What Dafaq! For real?!! Can't believe how lucky he is.
Sameee!
Just bought the notebook/planner :-D! Thanks for adding valuable content, tools, and strategies to TH-cam John!
