- Hello everyone! Today I baked delicious bread in 5 minutes. A quick bread recipe based on my grandfather's recipe. I love the German bread recipe. It's always quick and easy. How do you cook bread? White bread recipe:
350 ml water at room temperature.
1 tablespoon sugar.
1 teaspoon sugar.
8 grams of dry yeast.
25 ml sunflower oil.
500 grams of flour.
Bake at 230°C (446°F) for 30-40 minutes.

I can imagine my grandmother ages ago as I heard from my mother, preparing more than 1 bread for 6 children for the whole week ,I felt sorry for her.
But this days it's too much and too long to show us preparing 1 bread in this video clips.

I agree, she makes a great video on bread making, but it takes a lot of time for the yeast to consume the sugars and starch to become wonderful dough.

I make a German 5-minute bread that takes +/- 5 minutes to mix - no rising involved.

@@hhl31636 sure, but you’ll need a scale. It’s in grams. It’s late here in Alaska, and I’m heading to bed. If you don’t hear from me in the next 24 hours - please give me a nudge ☺️
5 minute bread (German)
500 g spelt flour, wholegrain
50 g sesame seeds
50 g flaxseeds
50 g sunflower seeds
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp active dry yeast
2tbsp apple cider vinegar
450 ml lukewarm water
Mix all ingredients in a bowl with a wooden spoon. Add vinegar to the water then to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined. Put in a greased loaf pan and place into cold oven. Set oven to 390F (non-convection) and bake for one hour. Take out of pan and cook on a rack.
I also make a gluten-free version by replacing the spelt flour with 300 g King Arthur’s Measure for Measure and 200 g buckwheat flour. I also sometimes add raisins.
When using gluten-free flours I increase the water to 500 ml.
This is a very dense bread and cuts a bit easier the next day. But you still need a sharp bread knife - and be careful. Enjoy

Man kann kein Brot in 5 Minuten backen ! Allein die Zubereitung des Teigs dauert schon über 1 Stunde ( Ruhezeit des Teigs mit eingerechnet !), dazu kommt dann noch die Backzeit von ca. 35-45 Minuten !

This looks delicious. Should it be 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt? It says sugar on both. I’m making it with sugar and salt.

1 tablespoon of salt would kill the yeast and make the bread very salty. A tablespoon of sugar and a teaspoon of salt seems more likely to be the case. The sugar will help the yeast and the salt to bring out the flavor.
Also each spoonful was generously rounded. So the amounts shown in the video were closer to 2x more than stated. :) Can't wait to try it!
@@JackFelker I agree. I also make bread and use about 2 - 3 T honey. I know that 1 T is sufficient, but I like the flavor that 3 T's give. It's a nice warm flavor.

Nice to meet you and let me say this that your video is very interesting ,the steps are easy to follow but when i add all the time to blend the ingredients for the dough and time to rest and cook well its not 5 minutes .

Bread in 5 minutes... shown in a video that takes 8:48. Loved the technique, but the bread seems not to be very well cooked, seems to be raw... besides it should show more bubbles in the inside... But it is just a humble opinion, say congrats to "your granpa" for the recipe, hope you have had the amount of visitors you expected, but please do not lie people in the future... I’m sure time is the same in the USA as it is where you are. 1 hr + 10 min + 30 min + 5 mins = 1 hr 45 min not 5 mins. I’m confused how this is shorter. Please do not promote bread that is ready in 5 mins that takes almost, if not over, 2 hrs to make. It is misleading. I’m sure the bread is delicious. Just please be honest in your time declaration. 🤔😯👏🏻🥖🙅🏻♀️

It was just a click bait technique that brought us all here to view this video. The recipe is not bad, but the execution sucks. She uses far more than 25 ml oil from the looks of it, the kneading with the spatula is really bad for the dough, the intermediary folding is simply brutal. She is stressing the dough greatly, the shaping and scoring techniques suck and the bread is definitely undercooked.

Greetings from Colorado USA. I love this recipe because it is a no knead style. My hands aren't very good with a lot of kneading the dough. I will be trying this one tomorrow. It looks scrumptious. Grandpa knew best 💖
If you have or can afford a KitchenAid stand mixer with a dough hook, that works great. I use it for almost all my bread even though I could hand knead if I wanted to.

Will definitely try your recipe. I grind my flours with a stone on stone mill & may mix it with rye and use caraway seeds along with the flax seed.
I am 66, a great gramma writing from North Pole, Alaska. Used to manage the fair Bake-Off and won with my rye bread. Just can’t beat freshly milled berries or seeds. Commercial flours have no bran, to avoid it going fowl. Have used the mill since 1985. It’s heavy & a workhorse!!

A quick note for anyone trying this: the thermal conductivity of a metal baking pan and a glass baking dish are dramatically different. I haven't tried this recipe, but if it's correct for a glass baking dish, one can expect that using a metal dish instead will give different results.

artisan bread in 5 minutes, a great bread book..they count the time to mix and few minutes to knead..they do not count the rise time as you can be busy elseware
