SuperReview graphed the Aful5 with different impedance adapters (15, 30, 75). As the impedance rises, the bass quantity goes up, and the upper midrange and treble downshift. Plugging them in my SA-1 and switching between low-z and hi-z modes, the difference an increase in output impedance makes on the FR is super pronounced. The bass gets fuller, and they sound smoother and less shouty. Really good take on these, no other reviewer touched on the ouput impedance angle
I'm coming around to Zeos reviews over time ... lol, once you watch all the other reviewers you will end up here anyway. His ability to guess the price and impedance was impressive. Respect
Just got a pair for $165 . Better than the Performer8, which I returned - I found the p8 to be way too thin on the low end - 5 has ~enough~ bass for most purposes. it’s there when it needs to be there. highs a little harsh sometimes but not consistently harsh.
I would love to see a comparison of this iem with the b2d, Stellaris, and hexa given that the graphs for all 4 of them are quite similar it would be an interesting to see them compared not so much on the price axis but on the graph and sound because maybe the fact that the b2d is the most expensive from the bunch will not make it the best overall :)
What you’re describing is capacitance, used to happen on complex crossover in floor standers. The circuit or drivers build frequency or power then dissipate it.
Dear Mr. Zeos Sir. I would recommand the KBEAR Rosefinch for Review as a dirt cheap reality check. Single DD ... When it's available again. Looks sold out atm, got it for 25€, I am delighted. Also we want to hear Cheap-Ass-Zeos again ^^

Very nice review! Unfortunately I can't decide between the Performer 5 and the Hidizs MP145. It would be important to me that the vocals are very close to the ear and that the whole thing has an intimate sound and everything sounds detailed. So I really wonder if you need to break these in. I own these and I’m currently getting a lot of mixed feelings. I love The Hell Song but with these they are terrible. Everything is mushed together and you can’t make out layered vocals at all at the end of the song. I’m not sure if these are just very revealing and it’s a terrible recording in general or the IEMs have serious jank to them. You listen to Beatles-Come together and these are amazing. When it comes to trying to EQ these through my BTR7, it’s a bust. I love these and hate them at the same time. Big ol head scratcher. They are not nearly as good at the Katos btw. RLC means resistor, inductor and capacitor. These are the components used to build a standard crossover.
An RLC circuit can be used as a band-pass filter, band-stop filter, low-pass filter or high-pass filter.
