I'm a big fan of TED-Ed videos, because they are always so gorgeosly animated and include valuable information. And I just want to say that this video made me love this channel even more. They don't really teach you about hiv or aids at school and only make it associate with sex, even though it's also about lack of hygene and person may not know that he has it. What got me wondering about this video, was what kind of superior evolution would enable the virus to embed its DNA in the genome of the host? It just does not make the news because they are called "spontaneous remissions" instead of cures and most are from either getting off the AZT, which induces AIDS or from holistic therapies such as ozone therapy, lapacho, compound Q, lentinan, betulinic acid, hyperthermia, etc. Further clinical studies of both ozone therapy and hyperthermia that showed excellent results in initial human studies were halted by the FDA claiming no evidence of effectiveness. That is what continued clinical trials are for, but the FDA is there to protect big pharma profits so they will continue to halt studies or use of any therapy that works if it competes with pharmaceutical profits whether for AIDS or cancer or whatever else.
