We are so excited that we could be a part of this groundbreaking work. Long-acting, injectable HIV prevention, really is a game-changer ! Now let's accelerate access !
Question is, was it incidental that they ended up coming up with a twice a year injection instead of a vaccine, or was that what they were looking to make in the first place since actual vaccines tend not to be profitable. The price graph at 6:45 speaks volumes :(
“The money is not in the cure, the money’s in the treatment. That’s (a cure) is like a car company producing a car that doesn’t break down. They _could_ do it… but they _won’t_ “ - Chris Rock
One giant step forward with this drug. Three Giant steps back with the selections of RFK jr, and Mehmet Oz (who had his medical license rightfully stripped) being appointed to American healthcare 😞🤦♂️
It’s ridiculous that we pay, in the Western world, $40,000 every 6-months for an injection of this drug, so that we can subsidize the cost for the rest of the globe. We made - not only with our tax dollars, but also our labor - the societies that produced this great innovation. We should not be the people who have to pay extra for it.
Whom ever told you that hiv is okay in donated blood, is very misinformed. As someone that is on a daily medication 💊 I can’t donate blood. People that have HIV and other STIs or are on daily medications (stimulants, SSRIs, blood thinners, etc) are promptly turned away.

I thought hiv was ok in blood donations . Is it bad again?
I think you were mistaken. Look up the contaminated blood scandal in the UK.
@@aesopstortoise not to mention North America (Canada and the United States) had its own tainted blood scandal which thrashed the Red Cross
