Hello, Gary. I really love the scenery at the beginning of your video. We went with our great granddaughter to a truck or treat. She just turned 1 at the beginning of October. She was dressed as a lady bug. It was so fun to watch her sitting in her little car being pushed around and saying, "Hey," to everyone and the smile she brought to the recipients.
You can't go wrong with Aberdeen Wool Company! I don't really care for mystery bags but if I buy them, they come from here. The yarns are great and not yarns that are of the nature of the company trying to get rid of a not so popular selection or novelty style. You have a wonderful selection! I am addicted to the minis. I am going to make a jelly roll blanket and crazy scarves from mine. For Halloween I like to treat myself! I go out to eat I am long past the dressing up days and partying. I also worked on my rectangular granny blanket. That is a gift for a friend. Now that it is November, I am working on the Arne and Carlos Christmas stocking knit along. I had a great time making last year's stocking. The busy season has begun! I loved your nature intro btw!

Bog hugs Gary 🤗 I was a huge customer of Aberdeen for 2 years. Unboxings, created a theme song for them, gave away their yarn, then waited over 7 months for my order. I no longer endorse them. It's a shame cuz I truly Loved getting their mystery bags and hanks. 😊

Beautiful yarns from Aberdeens. I purchased a Christmas yarn advent from Polka Dot Creek so that's my mystery for the 2024. Lol Finally finished, except for blocking + weaving in ends, my Twisted Hearts shawl by made by Tollow. Third time was the charm! Had to cast on the matching hat 3 times this weekend - hiding birthday gifts from family on the weekend knitting sprees. Halloween was quiet at first then picked up a bit. Perfect weather however only had about 35 visitors. Was able to meet some new neighbours which is always good. Enjoy your leftover candy.

But a friend came to dinner and brought some plastic bloody fingers that, when you took the caps off, you could make bubbles🤣, so we did. Hope yours was fun.
Hi Gary, that's some really beautiful yarn in those mystery bags, such a good buy. We don't really celebrate Halloween over here. If the little children want to do it we have set routes for them, roads that want to be on the route. If you want children to knock you put a pumpkin outside your door or a few decorations, a banner or something. If you don't want them to knock like me we just keep the front yard dark and have no decorations out and they walk past. They are always with their parents. No one wants the older kids or teenagers to knock you never know what they are going to do. Tbh I never let my own children go trick or treating when they were small. I spent all year telling them don't talk to strangers and never take any sweets from strangers so why would I get them to go knock on strangers doors and take their sweets. I used to buy them sweets and they stayed home. Also now I'm sad to say some of the sweets that are given to children are malicious, it's been known for them to have razor blades in them or nails, laxatives or drugs. No thanks I'll never take part. Be safe, always 😊
I see your concerns about kids going Trick and Treating. This is worrying and I know many parents join their children on the walks, check all the tricks and make the event as safe as possible - but if it happened once before, that would be enough to not part-take.
I also love going through my yarn and deciding how I’m going to make it. I will be making more project bags because I get so bored having only one or two projects.

Good Morning! Getting caught up on my Gary videos and loving everything! We had the most Tricker Treaters this year! For a few years we had little to no Tricker treaters but it’s changed now! We seem to have had new families with children who have moved into our neighborhood! Love seeing the sweet little faces and wonderful costumes!

There's supposed to be enough yarn in the bag to make all the patterns. (I HAVE purchased the Xmas/holiday Advent box..... can't wait!! A podcaster I used to watch introduced it to me, she had to quit do to vision problems, but we still keep in touch) I've heard to use conditioner versus fabric softener on wool yarn, since it IS an animal fiber & comparable to hair. The Tangled poets yarn should be called "Days of wine and roses". 😉 LOVE the "sockhead", I've made several....it IS a free pattern.

Hello Danette - It's true, when I cannot sleep (which is often) I'm up working on something until late/early. Plus the home is quiet and I'm not needing to cook, walk the dog, clean etc. You must feel the same at times... LOL!
Good morning from out Niagara Falls way! I just found you yesterday. Wonderful job on the shawl Gary, and the green is so beautiful! Just a bit of information/advice/wisdom sharing (that's code for OMG don't do that!): I was always told to never use fabric softener on natural materials. It leaves a residue that degrades the fibre. In addition, if you use drier softener sheets, understand that they work by putting a light wax coating on everything in the drier and although that might not degrade the fibre, it certainly hurts the natural properties of the yarn. I can't speak to the effects on man-made fibres, but please don't use fabric softener or sheets on natural fibres. If in doubt, contact the yarn manufacturer. Thanks for telling us about Aberdeen's Wool Company. I subscribed to their newsletter and told them that you promoted their company.Thanks so much for sharing - I know it's hard to put yourself out there, and I hope you won't take my fabric softener thing as criticism. That is a great idea for your pattern storage. I just put all my patterns I've completed into a ring binder too. It's filled up and I got myself a 2nd one.

The yarns that suggests you wash separately for color bleeding reasons, soke them in white or distilled vinegar before you use it and let it dry
