Jodi, sending you healing prayers, and a special prayer for the doctors hands. Your trip sounds amazing, with all the yarnery and weaving stuff. Magic just Magic
15 minutes a day in knitting I a powerful tool for mental health!! I’m a therapist and I encourage all my clients to learn a handcraft of any kind. It changes your life!
You're going to have so much fun with those little looms. I have wanted a loom for decades and finally treated myself to my first one. I am mildly obsessed with it. And I can already tell it's a slippery slope. It's so fun to work on, and satisfying to watch the project grow so quickly.
Thank you ladies! You kept me company for almost 2 days!!! yay!!! Jodie - sending all the best thoughts for your upcoming surgery and enjoy your new hip!!! Thanks so much, happy knitting!
Such an absolute JOY seeing both of you! Inspired again, on the Barndance train now! Please come hang out again soon. Best wishes for a relaxing and lots of knitting recovery this week Jodi.
Hello from East Texas. High of 74 here. We actually made the 30s last night!! I hear ypu Jodi. I'm having cataract surgery in January. I cant wait. Good luck and fabulous pain free!!
I live on an island north of Seattle. Rain is our normal. Luckily you missed the bomb cyclone! That was wicked. Thanks for keeping me company during my knitting time. Prayers for surgery! Ice, ice, baby! Don’t skip the pain meds or laxatives to counter act the issues from pains meds.
OMGoodness, I’m so jealous of all the snow. ❄️ I literally just saved a winter snow scene to my iPad wallpaper for inspiration as we are still in the low 80’s, high 70’s on a good day.
Love the mini magpie darling hats? This year I bought sparkly bling bar yarns and I’m holding them with lace or fingering from my stash! Bought mini pompoms throughout the year for the hats. Sooo much fun!!!
I was vacationing in Seattle, too! Had no idea about the knitting retreat, but felt all the good vibes in the air! We visited the Spincycle shop in Bellingham which is AMAZING 🤩
Suppose to get snow tomorrow in PA. I’m up from Florida visiting family. No longer flip flops weather in PA . I’m wearing a heavy sweater and wrapped up in a blanket.
You make me giggle when you get so excited about Target 😆 coming from me who is 71 years old and has grown up in the neighborhood of T-1! I am less than 5 miles away from a Target😊
Girls, here in coastal NC we have yet to have frost. I picked tomatoes today. Our winters usually hesitate until after the New Year. We occasionally get snow and once every 10-15 years, we get more than a foot.
Looking at your hand dyed yarn that you’re pairing with the Spincycle - I chose colours that I thought went very well together but the colours in the Spincycle were so similar to the plain yarn that they disappeared. Next time I would go for something with a greater contrast.
It’s so cute when you say things that remind me that you are Canadian. In the US we never talk about waiting for the “Post”. It’s always waiting for USPS or the mail. It reminds me feel like you are so much more European because they use the same expression.
I feel like two seconds ago y’all were sitting in your lovely garden terrace with flowers all around and now snow!?! ❄️❄️ (love snow but still!) Good luck Jodi with the surgery- it’ll be great!! 🦾 Take care and see y’all soon! ❤❤
For the hipster hat, the ribbing makes it extra stretchy. Thats how your can have the same stitch count. I make a similar hat and use the same number of stitchs for the every one in the family. I just adjust the length of the hat for a bigger head
First time I'm leaving a comment although I've been watching you since coming across your Craftsy videos. Love the energy and the camaraderie. Best of luck with your surgery and recovery, Jodi. I flipped when I first saw your beautiful Pavlova back in episode 203 in May and went and ordered some Majestic Fluff. It's gorgeous! Seeing you again in your Pavlova and feeling again the softness of my swatch makes me want to pull that project up to the front of my queue!.
You two are great -- love to hear you while I'm doing my chores. But I stop whenever you show things. So it's fun!! Jodi -- best of luck on your hip replacement--I'll be thinking of you.
Jodi, I’ve had both hips replaced and it was the best thing I could’ve done for myself. All I can say is stay up on your pain meds and ice, ice baby! ❤
The Hipster hat is 2x2 rib so very stretchy, the different sizes are different lengths and this combined with the stretchy stitch pattern allows for extra stretch. Oh just got to the part where you discuss this 😂 good luck with your hip op Jodi, had mine done 2 years ago and it’s been great. Do your physio exercises and make sure you keep moving and you’ll be fine. The first week post op isn’t fun but so worth it in the long run xx
I am recovering from a total hip replacement (back in September), all my best little stitches over to you for a speedy recovery ❤ (give it a good 8 weeks though 😺) - See you on the other side !
Anterior approach for Jody’s hip replacement - hooray! The recovery is so much better. And ice, ice, ice. Hopefully they will prescribe PT as well. Best wishes. 💜
Jodi wishing you a speedy recovery! But then again, not too speedy, with all your knitting plans 😂 I guess I’ve been watching your podcasts just under a year because I’m baffled by the “12 days” giveaways 🤷🏻♀️ mentioned a lot but how/when/etc. to participate? Thanks for all your fun content, great yarn/pattern/tool recs, and off-topic chatter, from another menopausal mom 🙄 you make it better Going to go make some tiny sparkly sweaters now 😍 and when you have recovered I hope you can help me pick out some Frankie grey fibres to totally copy your pavlova sweater!
Loved meeting you all last weekend. Man, I’m still sailing on the magic of the retreat. It felt like going back to childhood in a way I haven’t experienced in a LONG time. Well, I loved it so much I already signed off for Winter in the Rockies so I guess I’ll see you again soon. :) Healing vibes for your upcoming surgery Jodi!
Your weavings are beautiful!!! Tracie I know how to fix your fringe! Add a longer set of fringe from the back of your weaving, so you have two layers of fringe; one short, one long. It will look fabulous!
Another fun filled and inspiring episode, that had me laughing out loud. Love you both. Jodi, I’m wishing you a smooth surgery and relaxing recovery my friend. ❤❤❤
Just a thought! I’m knitting some Icelandic socks and the cast on is 48 stitches for all sizes from baby to adult. The stitch pattern is rib and very stretchy. The cast on is looser for the bigger sizes. Maybe it’s much the same . You never know
Jodi, I had hip replacement 15 years ago. I had mine at 53. Hip replacements are so perfected. If you feel that incredibly horrible pain now, the pain from surgery was minimal compared to that. One piece of unsolicited advice-do everything the doctor and physical therapist tell you. I was driving and walking steps and working two weeks after the surgery. I had the invasive surgery. Speedy recovery and bask in the lack of bone on bone pain ❤❤❤
for the hipster hat: I think the four circumferences have to do just with the part around your ears...so maybe you cast on more stitches for that part and then for the rest of hat the sizes are evened out? does that make sense?
I was at the Knit Social retreat on Pender Island last month! It was fantastic and I came home with so many more patterns in my favourites! I’m 73 so I had better hurry up! Tracey - when you order from places like Bare Naked Wool in the U.S. do you pay duty? The last time I ordered from the U.S. I got charged duty that was more than the price of the yarn (I’m in Vancouver). 😖. Best wishes on a great recovery Jodi!
Good Luck Jodi, on Hip Replacement. I'll popping meds with with you. Getting full knee replacement on Wednesday. So that's 2 hip joints replaced and 1 knee. Thinking Bionic Woman. Make sure you learn how to to get in and out of bed. Support the leg of surgery side and scoot back.
Great episode! What I don't like about a deep raglan is that you can't wear a coat.....at least not comfortably. I love the lascaux from Ancient Arts 🇨🇦. I'm currently knitting the Zweig by Caitlin Hunter with it. I picked it up last year while visiting my daughter for the first time in Calgary. Wishing you the very best with your surgery Jodi.
I know you guys are on the same coast that I’m on, but I’m in California or at least I think you’re on the same coast I am actually I don’t know where you are anyway where do you find these cruises and yarn festivals and such I’m not a real new knitter button I’m not really that new to TH-cam but I am new to festivals and such. I did go to one in Pasadena once and bought a bowl of yarn for $38 which I practically choked on and then I didn’t even unwind it for two years. I was a chicken, and I thought I’d ruin it. And by the way, I love that sweater.
Jodi, my husband had hip surgery last year. He is riding his bike and we are going downhill skiing this year, Make sure you have a grab bar in your shower.
I haven't seen you guys in ages! I got so sick of the algorithm showing me crap, I actually turned OFF my history. Now I just go to my subscription page and watch what I actually want to! So forgive me, but what is the 12 day giving thing? Love you from Virginia.

Lack of sleep, NO MORE!!! Eventually I caved to Bioidentical Hormone Replacement and I'm so happy I did. Restored my life!
Me too! Pellets are the best. Changed my menopausal life 😂
Me too, best decision ever!
Jodi, sending you healing prayers, and a special prayer for the doctors hands. Your trip sounds amazing, with all the yarnery and weaving stuff. Magic just Magic
Jodi, sending all the good energy and healing vibes your way. I wish you a speedy recovery. You two are amazing. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Love, love, love everything you showed, talked about and joked about!
15 minutes a day in knitting I a powerful tool for mental health!! I’m a therapist and I encourage all my clients to learn a handcraft of any kind. It changes your life!
And the chances are you will knit way more

Hello ladies!! I'm not a knitter but a crocheter, I love your channel. Love the banter between you two sisters.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
All the very best for Tuesday Jodie - wishing you a smooth recovery!
I have a massive head and made the 3rd size and it was perfect. Super stretchy. The decreases are gorgeous. Good luck!
Jodi, you should do some clever crochet decorating over the branding on your Glossier bag! ❤😊
Wishing you a great recovery! My Dad had both hips done and it was a brand new start for him and been good ever since.
OMGoodness, I’m so jealous of all the snow. ❄️ I literally just saved a winter snow scene to my iPad wallpaper for inspiration as we are still in the low 80’s, high 70’s on a good day.
I am lucky enough to be in driving distance to Barenaked wool,it’s in Ohio. She is a very talented designer, and all of her yarns are beautiful.
Jodi wishing you a safe and easy surgery, today is Wednesday Nov 27, and I hope you’re on the mend. Sending hugs and prayers for a speedy recovery ❤

Anne Hanson’s club was my first club about 12 years ago. Her patterns are amazing and so classic.
I am so happy I am not alone in the Hipster hat stitch count confusion !

I love IslandWood! I’ve been out of the loop and am so bummed I missed that. I hope it happens again!

Thanks for another great podcast! And your father-in-law will have a gorgeous sweater!
I cackled when you talked about Rhode Island being beautiful 😂 not the part of RI I grew up near 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
I used that Flotte Sokke in a coloured yoke and it's stunning!
My husband had both hips done at once! He did great!

I love this podcast. Wishing a speedy recovery with surgery
My son w/Down syndrome had a hip replacement at age 18, after years of pain. Scary, but he’s now 36 and has done great!
Your weavings are beautiful!!! Tracie I know how to fix your fringe! Add a longer set of fringe from the back of your weaving, so you have two layers of fringe; one short, one long. It will look fabulous!
Hi you guys!! It is getting too cold here in Michigan, but no snow yet. I’m anxious to head to our Florida home after Thanksgiving!
Jodi, sending you and your medical team my prayers and good wishes.
Praying for a successful surgery and speedy recovery for Jody!
I got the Barn Box too! I can’t wait to use the vanilla.
Yes Flotte Socke is from Germany. It is pronounced Flot-te Sock-e. Which is the equivalent of maybe chic sock… Greetings from Vancouver B.C.
Jodi - good luck with your surgery! Sending love and well wishes! Love from NY!
I had terrible hip pain, come to find out all I needed was a new mattress!! Who knew!

Bainbridge is such a fun yarn destination! Was Sarah at Lamb and Kid?
In the comments for the Hipster Hat, it is advised to change the needle size to get a larger hat.
My brother in law had the anterior hip replacement and breezed through it, hoping that for you🙏
Sweet Saturday Sweater by Kelly Foler
BEST of luck with your surgery!
Love you gals!!
Take care Jodi. I will be thinking about you on Tuesday.

Good luck, Jodi!
Audio was a little crackly/staticy 👌🏻 have an easy recovery Jodi
..and then knit longer to provide more circumference?
You will not be on bed rest. Hope you like to knit standing and walking, Jodi! They'll want you up on your feet within hours of surgery.
Jodi, please familiarize yourself with the relations between Chik Fil A and the LGBTQ community before patronizing them.
Never gone and never will just because of their horrible values.
