What beautiful and fabulous memories you and your family shared. I've always said that GOD had extra paint and BIG PAINT BRUSHES when he created the spectacular land of 🤍 ALASKA 🤍... Welcome back... 🤍
With the project that requires carrying the colour back along the row to the beginning... I think I'd be inclined to work the pattern in double knitting.... sure it will use more yarn and be thicker, but at least it would be reversible. Alternatively you could work a return row, forming a cone as a steek and later cut the steek? That however will result in a thickened edge as you would need to fold the cut steek edge to form an edge. Or
Hi Gary, you managed to get some things accomplished on your cruise…yay! Those yarns look so beautiful.Thank you for sharing clips of your trip.Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary to Chad’s parents…what a spectacular way to celebrate 🎉😊
I also like the Fiber Arts shop, although I didn't purchase any yarn, but I wish I had now just to get that stitch counter!! She (the owner) was super nice.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos of your holiday, many congratulations to Chad's Mum and Dad on their 50th Anniversary. I'm glad you all had a good time. The Yarn you brought is really nice, I love going to places and finding local yarn shops, so interesting
Lovely yarns you got Gary, thanks for sharing some of your cruise. Looks like you and Chad had a terrific trip, I hope you can share more of it in the future. Take care, I hope you're having a wonderful day.
Hi Gary, those are beautiful yarns you picked up - I love the rustic one! I was privileged to travel with my dear sister up the Inside Passage from Vancouver to Anchorage. Those are special memories and stories. Isn't it so fun to feel astonished at the grandeur of the coastline from a mile away on the water! I enjoyed the story of the peppered iceberg, from afar to close up. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Cynthia - I'm really touched by your story with your sister. If I could have spent one whole day with Chad on our balcony just looking out over the passing landscape - I would have. There was so much wonderful colours and calming ocean sounds.
love your yarns and tales - my hubby and I are one year 44 together - such a blessing. I have always wanted to see whales - I love them - you are so lucky - glad you had so much fun - take care
Thank you Lori for your cheerful greeting to my in-laws. We just spent the past weekend with them and it is always fun. We has a bonfire and listened to music.
Looks like you had a wonderful trip! I went to Alaska back in 2002 and I just loved it. Being a prairie girl, the mountains were just amazing to me. I went to the places you went to along with a few others. It is called calving when the icebergs chunks fall off and it is incredible how long you can sit and watch them. It is great that it warns you with the sound before it happen so you don't miss anything. Thanks for sharing your experience and pictures and of course yarn.
So glad you & Chad had fun on your trip! Beautiful yarn you got while in AK! ❤️ Love Craig's channel and his crochet makes, since I can't knit I only follow the crochet patterns. His pattern that you're making is absolutely gorgeous! Have a great week! ❤
👋 Gary! You had me at the moon reflection on the water. Almost forgot about the beautiful yarn. 😍 I admire the way you continue to work on projects until you get it right. Happy 50th to your parents-in-law... 🫂
Hi Kelly! I love the opening of this video too. I enjoyed the balcony scenery so much - anytime of the day-evening. Your comment did ring true recently with a mosaic knit pattern I worked for days on - I had to start over and pay closer attention to stitch count. I'm almost back to where I had been. I'm so happy I started over.
Amazing pictures! I’ve always wanted to visit Alaska- I love the Transylvania color yarn- that was a Killer deal on that kit👍🏻👍🏻 The I cord pillow pattern looked interesting too - nothing better than yarny souvenirs is there 😊
I love picking up yarn from my travels. I did see one other kit that was a killer deal, but alas I wanted to leave the love for the next traveler to enjoy.
Fantastic scenery, I wish I could go ther. I am so pleased that you had a good time and got something back to remember it by. Now get a good rest. Hugs!
Thanks Christina - I think you caught my exhaustion in my voice. The trip was so jam-packed with non-stop fun. I felt like I needed another break when I got home.
Hi Gary !!! ❤❤. WOW I could only imagine how wonderful and beautiful that must of been seeing whales and the ocean. I think I was a mermaid in a past life because I just love the ocean lol. Take me to a beach or pool anywhere you can swim, I’m in that water ALL day 😂😂❤❤❤❤❤. Thx for sharing. HAPPY 50th Chad parents !! ❤❤❤
So glad to hear that you enjoyed your vacation! Love the yarn you brought back with you. I totally understand waiting for the correct pattern for those special items, but man, once you find it, it's a dream to work them up. The photos were lovely!
I think I've found a few new patterns that I want to start using the hand dyes - they've been batched together and put into project bags. It's an ever growing line up of bags, but at least it's a plan.
Thank you for sharing this lovely peek at Alaska. I would love to go there at this time of year when the midnight sun is shining. I think that that is the neatest thing. 🌞😍 The Mad Hatter yarn is my favourite and the deal was hard to pass up.❤
The label on the yarn is an abbreviation OoAK = One of A Kind, yarn. Which also is OoAK...AK for Alaska 🤍 Thanks for sharing your trip with us ! So nice 💎
Hello there. Thank you so much for the cryptic letter unscrambling. I have to giggle, because I always trip up when I read OOAK and I always see just the Oak (as in the tree). This was a very ingenious way of sneaking in their State's abbreviation too.
The Cornflower yarn is so nice and the pattern is beautiful-nice texture. I follow Fiber Spider for his crochet tutorials-someday i’mm tackle knitting. Your trip sounds amazing. The Oak yarn is sure pretty. I love how it looks worked up (the multi color set). That black Wonderland is dreamy!❤ I’ll bet Pixel was over the moon when you got home.
Hi Vicki! The nice thing about Pixel is that she's very adaptable and loved spending time with our friend who house sat while we were away. She's an all round happy puppy.
We did have a great trip. One we felt was so much jammed into a small timeframe that we almost needed a second trip just to recover... LOL! Pixel was in great hands with our friend - I think we missed her more.
Happy to hear you had a wonderful vacation!! I LOVE the lace shawl by fiberspider... I really enjoy knitting most lacework.....like the "simple stuff", not anything like Shetland. 😂🤣😂 I think the needles you showed are actually 5" tips....my favorite. 😊 Sometimes it's better to NOT "get the shot", it's better to live the moment. I have friends who live in Ketchikan!!! She's a teacher, he's a LEO. 🥰 I love Wonderland Yarns, I have a couple of the "so fond of rainbows in Mad Hatter" sets that I purchased from webs.
I have just returned from an Alaskan cruise and wish I had watched this video before I went. I went to the same store in Juneau and bought some lovely yarn as well. I did miss the store in Ketchikan. Surprised you found "Wonderland yarns" in Alaska. You can find them here in Florida, USA. I like their yarns. Congratulations to Chad's parents! It must have been fun having family there. Thanks for sharing. Your photography is so much better than mine.
Hi Gary. I too went on an Alaskan cruise last September. Sitka, Skagway, Juneau, Victoria, B.C. back to Seattle, WA. Sounds like you all had a grand time and buying yarn was the icing on the cake.
Hi Danette - it was an amazing time. You know from first-hand experience. Would you ever do the trip again? I think I may in a few years to travel to a few of the cities you mentioned we didn't get to see.
Thanks for sharing your cruise with us. Wonderful sights! I find traveling hit or miss for extra time. Often, I've been stuck with no project or good book or visa versa, a project or book + no time to get to them. Take care.
Really love the yarn you purchased. Beautiful colours and I do think the minis would go with that 100 gram skein from Juno? Would make a great shawl! Happy 50th to Chads parents - how wonderful. ❤

Hi Gray glad to hear you had a great trip and nice yarn 😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
We just got back from an Alaskan cruise this weekend also, except that we started in Seward and ended in Vancouver. What an amazing vacation!!!
I also like the Fiber Arts shop, although I didn't purchase any yarn, but I wish I had now just to get that stitch counter!! She (the owner) was super nice.
I'm so glad you had a great time on your cruise! The glacier was perhaps my favourite day on the cruise. Nature's majesty at it's best.
Yay! You know exactly how I felt when I found those fantastic yarn stores!

Love that white and flecks lol
Lovely yarns you got Gary, thanks for sharing some of your cruise. Looks like you and Chad had a terrific trip, I hope you can share more of it in the future. Take care, I hope you're having a wonderful day.
I do have a bunch more footage of the glacier we went to that I'll put into future intros.
Your cruise sounded like a lot of fun. As well as the LYS’s. What a great way to celebrate a 50th anniversary.
My thoughts exactly - they did have a great time.

Ohhh - I see it now... LOL!
Also about the logo... AK is the abbreviation for Alaska, so the artist may have emphasized "AK" because of that. But that's just a guess! :)
Very clever!
We had new neighbors move in at the beginning of this month. They moved here from Alaska.
Hello Egore!
