Earl Grey (Bergamot is a nice option) while still hot, about a quarter of a lemon hand squeezed and let the rind sit in it. Add honey after it has sat for 3-5 minutes to make it decently sweet to taste and then top if off with a quality bourbon whiskey.
@@jonaslindberg2579 it depends on how much tea, lemon and honey. You've got to get the proportion right. Everytime I tell someone how to make it they say they can't get it to taste like mine. Maybe I'll make a video showing the entire process. Good luck with the girl and Karaoke 👍
I do same, but I use Irish tea instead of hot water. I put cloves in mine. I drink out of. a snifter glass, when you have a cold you need to inhale & drink. making one tonight
Nah, for me, you go for a wee bit more whisky, but a full cup of the drink, and definitely lemon juice in there as well. But then I'm using it very much as a balm for my sore throat, as well as the lovely fuzzy feel. Surprisingly, even like that, it still has to be decent whisky, because the notes of the whisky still very much come through.
Hi Drinks Tube... As a European who moved to live in the Southern Hemisphere and now spends Christmas in the heat; do you have any ideas for a light and fresh tasting drinks that uses these Christmassy flavours? I´m looking for a taste of home that I can enjoy on the beach. Thanks for the recipe and keep making those drinks.

Same shit! Try this ice cold. Works good too. Or (sounds weird) make mulled wine in the summer. Make it the day before, put it in the fridge and drink it the next day. Christmas feeling in the summer!
One can of evaporated milk; one cup of coffee, infused with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and anise; a quarter cup of (brown) sugar; half a cup of rum, or cognac, or whisky, or a combination, whatever suits your taste. Let it chill and serve with panettone.
Perfect! my Scottish friend (another Jamie) told me to stay in bed today and have a hot toddy. Pouring rain outside and a terrible cold - so I opened my Highland Park from the Orkneys and brewed a hot toddy. Spicy and all. Half-dead before, already more alive!! Cheers to both Jamies, get well soon to the rest :-))
It's a great recipe, to be sure - only to those making it, I'd really recommend not using a metallic pot for the infusion... it's hard to describe but the end result, if you use a metallic pot, has a distinctive and not good quality.
As Mr. Oliver was finishing assembling the drink I was thinking = WTH? “Where’s the actual drink? There’s nothing in those cups! He must’ve edited out too much stuff in this video because he only made miniature drinks.”
Next time you’re at the grocery store grab a 1/2 gallon of the fresh pressed apple cider (or because that’s expensive these days) go to the isle that has hot chocolate packets & you’ll also see a brand “Alpine something” for about $2 for 8 packets/servings & just boil some hot water & pour into teacup with the cider mixture almost about to the top then pour in your liquor of choice (I like Jack Daniel’s Honey whisky) & enjoy. Not the most sophisticated or fancy but it is cheap, easy & delicious.
I watch this video every year, to refresh my memory on how it's done. Thank you
I poured vodka in my black tea, worked very well too.
MusikKritik oh the so called tea with electricity!
Grzegorz Cichosz eccentrici-tea? 😏

This was by far the best hot toddy videos. It was literally fun to watch. Not to mention, I’m wishing I could’ve had one that looked really delicious!

Honey Jack, or JD winter punch is a good base or good to add to the base for a longer version
Mmm - great idea!
Over the top once again Jamie lol
I dunno about the recipe ingredients, measures and stuff.
I just know this thing really works against common cold.

For them that don't like Whiskey, you could use a nice amber rum ... Papas Pilar for instance.

Won't the hot water end up cooking the alcohol out of it?
Victoria Reilly not out of a 40% whiskey
If u r combating the cold, if u miss the hot water the drink stills working out.
