While everyone is praising The Swaddle for broaching the nuances of this subject(which it rightly deserves), I will slip in a small note of appreciation to the Editing team. I noticed how small details made this video more informative and wholesome. Mentioning titles of the films in the bottom right corner, various subtle sound effects, putting in sequences from underrated yet brilliant films that fit just right. Looks like a lot of diligent effort put in. Kudos!

    • @Muskan-iw8si
      @Muskan-iw8si 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@Nomad I'll attempt to break down what you've said and reason it out. First things first, you missed the whole point of this video. Try to re-watch it with an open mind. Now, that being said; things like false dowry allegations, frivolous molestation cases among others do exist and urgently need to be talked about. They require separate videos altogether, sensitively handling these issues. Secondly, ''fEmInIsTs HaTe mAsCuLiNiTy"- No, its 'toxic' masculinity which the world would do better without. Thirdly, vulnerability is a 'human' trait, not something that women or people associating with the gender of women alone exhibit; anyone can be vulnerable and its okay. Lastly, "aGeNda To CrEaTe GyNoCeNtRiC sOcIeTy?''- really, this is what your takeaway is from this video? I'm sad for you.
P.S- Wait, what's the harm in changing the narrative for a while? LOL even if it is their underlying motive, its only fair to atleast give a chance to gynocentricism after having lived in the shackles of patriarchy for centuries. Bit too much, eh?

It sucks when they say don't cry. The anger remains inside and gradually turns into heat for others. Sometimes on society, sometimes on the person who brings us to the point where a woman usually cries, but most of the time on the person who told us not to cry.

Yes I totally agree with you guys.
I am a boy so since the start I was told not to cry like a 'girl', but that had some severe impact on my mental health. I started to hate myself because I was only 4feet 10inches high and I had no facial hair and a very high pitched voice so my male classmates started ridiculing me but one day I realized something that to hell with their mindset and to hell with how they define masculinity I started embracing what I had and became more confident than ever and anyone who would mock me would never leave without a perfect reply from me sure everyone(except my friends) started to hate me but I started loving me now I am 5'5" and with a deep pitched voice but I am still as confident as I was earlier. So embrace what you have whether it's tears or physical strength.

I see many people in the comment section saying that crying leads to emotional weakness. What you need to understand is that bottling up tension, sadness and other negative emotions for a long time can really take a toll on your mental health. They will manifest in many forms, from depression, anxiety, to anger. So it is much better to let those out and get professional help if required that live with the " I will be the tough guy" motto. That's precisely the importance of this video. By saying the same to your children, you are ruining their mental health too.

No ! If you look at my comments of their earlier posts. I predicted they won't make for men , if they do they'll only talk about "show your emotions", "it's okay to cry" type of videos. Men have other issues too . Every 9 min a guy commits suicide under the misuse of 498a law(dowry harassment law) , legal structure doesn't favours men , the men in metoo who suffered , the burden of being the primary provider of the house , the social hierarchy of men and all those things . And they said men choose engineering because of "society" which might be correct in india but wrong if you look at the world. There are personality differences in men and women , so men choose STEM fields and women choose creative/caring fields and there are studies to back it up . "Be a man " doesn't always mean to be manly , it often means to be more responsible.

Which is basically a man who is angry, verbally and emotionally abusive, using profanity, highly impatient, suspicious and possessive of his girlfriend and thinks of her as an outlet for his anger. The girl is docile, stupid and constantly seeking attention from him. This has been criticized by a lot of social media users but some girls find this attractive and thin that guys like that are true lovers who won't cheat on you. I think they need psychotherapy.

~I like to cry while watching movies~
So this happened last year - I went to watch 'Avengers:Endgame' in the theatres with my younger cousin brother. In the final scenes of the movie, I was feeling really weird because I wanted to cry so badly (Huge MCU fan). But I couldn't because my younger brother was there sitting beside me. After the movie ended I felt very uncomfortable the whole day, cause all the emotions were bottled up inside me.
After 2 months, one night I downloaded the movie on my laptop and sat to watch it, with my doors closed. During the last ending scenes I must've cried for like half an hour. It felt so good to cry. It felt so incredible to get those emotions out of my system.
Moral (for the 'mard' out there): Sometimes It is good to get those emotions out. It's not gonna emasculate you in any way.
    Thanks for reading this. :)

I experienced both the sides so I can speak truly here. i was allowed to be comfortable , while people say that you can be weak, they dont want weak men. I saw the double standard on how when i was weak people would speak nicely but they speak ill behind my back(my friend who was brutally honest told me about these and how i chose to be comfortable and he know that even if i chose it i was fulfilled). i changed. lifted weight, ate healthy spoke my honest opinion and something that made me more masculine is take action and take responsibilites for my actions. I dont have a hundred friends on social gatherings, i barely have ten but the connection i have with them just cant be compared. Generally speaking, you chose what you want, but once you chose to be soft, dont whine on how people dont treat you like they treat other strong men. and if you want a girlfriend, be a man, she doesnt need another girl as her partner.

Macho men in the comment section fighting over not being emotional to be actually successful. It's not like people just start crying anytime or anywhere. They feel bad and then they show their feelings to people that are close to them. That's definitely not a vulnerability . This not only helps them be stronger but work better(as they can vent out their frustration and not have to deal with it internally because of people thinking 'oh how weak') . It's not like they start crying in the middle of a meeting no one does that not even women. It's all about equality again both men and women are entitled to their emotions and shouldn't be judged about it.

Masculinity also harm men , Men are judged by their performance on sex , and Size of their tool , this is the thing which of their Self- esteem and manliness associated. If he fails to perform good in bed , then he considered as Naa- mard, their partners also humilate them or left them.

Stereotypes for both genders are opposites of each other and both are extreme so there is no balance. If you had a drought then a flood then it would be all chaos, but if you had a hot day then some rain, it would be balanced. We can all be equal if we try hard enough. And just because a woman has short hair doesn’t mean she’s a lesbian the same way if a man shows emotions he’s not gay.

Again on this topic , if a male wants to be so called Manish type then he is mocked saying that you have that gender bias perception.

The best thing of our generation, we want to shatter these narrow minded, illogical things, that is itself a big change. Now let us look into our homes... if there is unequal household chores distribution among all adults, let us gently change it.. i can feel how burdened men feel with these masculine standards set by society .. can be so frustrating damaging the mental health... to all the men out there! Loosen up, show your tears!! ❤

It feels great to be a man! this means no chain reaction made up theories explained in this video. Not that it is a competition with women. It feels great to be a man because of the dependence of society on us. Society is equally dependent on women, so you should be proud to be a woman too and be proud of your masculine man if you have one. Boys listen, don't show emotions and build your endurance power of pain, give it direction, mould it and make something truly great. Look after people around you, take care of them. BE A MAN!!!! The world is a cycle. Many different human species lived longer than us but went extinct. Be a warrior in a garden rather than being a gardener in a War. BE MASCULINE. And do not take bollywood people as our hero, look for our ancestors

Guys, hit the gym, Learn mma, work hard. practice Bhramacharaya ( Indian Celibacy ) Embrace your Masculinity,be a Sankat Mochan. Remember for being kind to others first we have to be kind to ourselves. ... and in reality kindness is considered as a weakeness and its mainly for boys. This is the main reason anyone will ever see a boys nature very kind towards themselves and also others, even sometimes they forget humanity itself.
