- This is a short film I put together for Roofnest featuring my Condor XL roof top tent. This was a super fun project to work on. Our camp trip took us up into the pines for a freezing night in the low teens. This film documents the adventures along the way, but more importantly gives a good look at all the endearing things about camping in a roof top tent, and encourages the viewer to get out and explore this beautiful world we live in. Roofnest has been an awesome brand to work with and I have absolutely loved using this roof top tent for the last several months. 10/10 would recommend.

Sam. You are so dang talented.
Thank you for watching, Chris! Much appreciated!
Another great video!
LOVE IT!! BEAUTIFUL!! ❤
Yo I'm diggin' that intro, well done!
Intro? Its a short film. No intro. But thanks for watching.
That was really good editing. I’m ready to head out!!
Thank you Elliot! This was a fun little project to work on. Have fun out there!
If I only had that "Good Friend", all my friends are lazy bums 😂 But beautiful video man
Thanks so much man! Solo trips are fun too!
@@SamBischof They absolutely are!
This is the video that earned my sub, and I can't believe you only have 175 Likes on this. You already sold me on the Condor XL.
Thanks for watching Jon! Much appreciated!
The production level is amazing man. Good job👍
Hey thank you! I appreciate that! Thanks for taking the time to watch
Great video! We cook the same dinner except i also do potatoes. Lol
Haha thank you! I usually throw the potatoes in but it was like 20° and I was ready to eat lol!
The next time you feel it! Go! Priceless!
Fellow Arizonian, your video is epic and your story telling is even more epic ;)
Thanks for watching man! I appreciate it!
Dig the wrap!! Really enjoy your style of filmmaking.. cheers!
Thanks so much! If I ever get a break I’ll get back on the uploads!
GREAT JOB!
Thank you for watching Nancy!
Incredible 👍
Thanks for watching Patty!
Nice work👏
Thank you sir! I appreciate you watching!
Awesome video. I have a Tacoma, and am about to pull the trigger on the Condor. Smaller version though, because of the short bed. Got an UpTop bed rack for it too. Can't wait! Going to check out your other content now.
Thanks for watching man! You’ll love the tent. This was a really fun project to work on. Lots more outdoor content to come. Just pivoting to more of that style now. Cheers!
I see your bed rack is "Cab Height" that Condor XL fits the 64" Long Bed on that Tundra?? I have the SR5 trail pckg.
I don’t actually have a long bed. Mine is a crew cab short bed. But yes it fits great without overhang. My tundra is the TRD Offroad, so same as the SR5, just with some extra bolt ons.
Really awesome job! Debating on ikamper, tuff stuff stealth now this i like when you mentioned about the ikamper length sticking out i have a trx its a 5.7 short bed now i consider this than the ikamper any experience with the i mentioned do you still like your condor xl any issue
Thank you for watching Robert! I have had no issues with my tent. I still use it regularly and enjoy it. A lot of these models are very similar and mostly manufactured in the same place, so I would say go with the one that has the best features for you and your travel style!
Great Video! I am looking to do a similar set up in my 5.5 ft truck bed with the same tent. What kind of bed rack do you have?
Thanks for watching! The bed rack in this video is a generic one from Amazon by Hooke Road. I have since switched to a full height rack by CBI Off-road. Much better quality. But for the money the rack in this video worked just fine as well.
@@SamBischof Awesome! Thanks for replying.
Love the video. Great job! Where was this awesome spot you camped at? I just took my my boys up to the rim 2 weeks ago for snow camping. But we were in a wall tent with stove 😁. I am thoroughly researching RTTs and came across your content.
Your wall tent sounds cozy! This is just past the turn off to the rim on the 260. I have the spot saved if you shoot me a message on Instagram I’m happy to share the coordinates! Thanks so much for watching! I had a lot of fun putting this one together.
Hi Sam, what is the brand of the truck rack you have?
The rack is by Hooke Road. But disclaimer: the cross pieces are very wide and I had to make custom brackets to mount my Roofnest. I’ll be switching to CBI Offroad racks soon. Thanks for watching!
How is the condor xl in winter since it doesn’t have an insulated tent accessory?
I've never used the insulation accessories in an RTT but from everything that I've read they can increase condensation and are not worth the hassle to install. I'd rather rely on my bedding / clothes to keep me warm and keep setup / takedown time to a minimum. The night I shot this video it got down to 11 degrees with 55+ MPH gusts. It was a miserable nights sleep, but the tent held up great. No issues.
Great job on this video! I just sold my Gen 2 Raptor and got an FJ. I am gonna keep the FJ, but will also be getting a Gen 3 Raptor once available. I have a wife and 3 10 year olds I would like to fit in this tent. You think it is doable?🎩🇺🇸
Thanks for watching! If I read what you wrote correctly and the quantity of your 10 year olds is in fact 3, then I think that’s going to be tight. Doable? Yes. Super comfortable? Maybe not. Depends on everyone’s height. You can find the interior dimensions on their website. I measured out those exact measurements and taped it on the floor and made my family all lay down in the square so we could try it out haha! I’d suggest trying something similar.
@@SamBischof Yes sir, you read that correctly! I am 6’3 and my wife is 5’1” and we have 3 kids that are 10 years old each. I think an annex option may be best.🎩🇺🇸
I think so too! I think it would be a tight squeeze up there with 5 people.
@@SamBischof Yeah, I haven’t found any tents that would fit my whole family.
I believe Tuff Stuff has one (and a few other similar brands) that sleeps 5. They usually have double ladders.
How fast can you deploy the roofnest condor xl?
I can setup and take down the Roofnest in 4 minutes give or take a few seconds. It’s fast.
@@SamBischof Thanks, i ordered one to install on top of my diesel rubicon. Cant wait for them to ship it to me! :D
@@Sam1986E Sounds like an awesome setup!
I’m in the market for rooftop tent hard shell . I have a 5..5 foot bed on my raptor and I saw your videos . As far as the roofnest I believe there’s 2 sizes . Is the smaller size like the xl ? Just smaller?
That’s correct. Same form factor just smaller. I believe the regular Condor is made for two people. The XL is for four. I also have a 5.5’ bed on my truck and the XL fits great. It’s flush with my tailgate/rear bumper. Thanks for watching!
@@SamBischof awesome. ! Thanks for the info and great videos. Very informative. Take care n get out there 🤙🏼
Thank you! Good luck on the build!
@@SamBischof hey it’s me again . Question. So I was looking at this other company which I think it’s an identical rooftop tent as roofnest .it’s called tuff stuff alpha II . Is there one or several manufacturers making for several companies? This thing is about $900 dollars or so cheaper then the roofnest condor . What do u think ?
@@luisochoa2121 I've seen that one around too and looked into it early on. Definitely seems to be same manufacturer, with a few small differences. I think you would be happy with either brand to be honest, just decide which one has better support and accessory options. All that being said, I have never had a chance to check out the Tuff Stuff tent.
